Those who played until the end are evaluating the game positively, but you can play it yourself and come to your own opinion. I would appreciate your feedback.
only bad thing i saw was that the animation for the scene was pretty horrible, at that point i prefer just static cgs, just my opinion though

Alright, I played through it.

I'd probably have gone with Ren'py. The game seems slower than necessary, and a bit clunky. Since you're going with a VN anyway (Unless you plan to add gaming mechanics), it might not be a bad idea to change over. The coding is relatively simple.

I'd probably rethink the animations too. The sloppy toppy scared me. I'm not sure why, but it left me shook. The sex wasn't bad, though.

I'd also work a bit more on the dialogue. I'm not sure if English is your first language or not, but maybe get a friend to help you make things sound a little more natural.

Still, it wasn't bad, and people might hate AI art out of some moral obligation - But I totally get using it. Not everyone has the money to hire an artist, and if you have an idea - and the means to make that idea a reality -it would be stupid not to use it.

Still, work on optimization and dialogue. Him choosing THAT moment to read the letter doesn't make sense from a storytelling perspective. Might be a good idea to give him a good reason to hold off on reading it, or work a different avenue into it.

But that's my critique. The reptile can fertilize her eggs with me anytime. :D

Thank you for the feedback, I plan to add things that are not possible or not easy to implement in Ren'Py. One of them, which already exists, is GameAnalytics, I can see that people have rated the game 7.43/10 so far, and I will work to improve this score.

Once it is possible, I will hire a reviewer. English is not my native language.

GameAnalytics allows me to see that the average FPS on the computer is arround 120 FPS, at what moments did you have problems with optimization?

In the future, the letter should be an item that can be read at any time.

It wasn't an issue during the animations, it was more the response to clicking. It felt slower than what I'm used to, even in other Unity VNs. It's like... flicking a light switch and the light not coming on immediately, if that makes sense.

Knew it was AI art from the start but it actually looks decent compared to the shit I've seen on this site.

DarwinsVoyage_06_01_2023_20_40_31.png

Also, what the fuck is going on with that tongue? Is it like, tongue slime or something? My god.

AI art will never replace actual drawing talent, but at least it's (somewhat) consistent in this one.

If I were to use AI art in a game, I'd have to do some extreme touchups to get rid of some, obvious imperfections.

Kissing is something difficult to do. I currently don't have the means to hire an artist. There were many imperfections, I corrected most of them during or at the end of the generation process, but even so it is not possible to do something perfect when I are alone trying to do so many things. The tendency is that the quality will improve in the new versions and with time I will improve old scenes.

Analytics on framerate are not a useful tool on a VN unless you've made a point to crop the collection areas - otherwise it's going to include the entirely static points where framerate is going to naturally skyrocket even for a poorly optimised game and pull the average up with it- unless you've animated literally every part of the game which'd be a monumental waste of time for a lot of 'empty' shots (or in VNs running in a 3D environment, which this one doesn't seem to be). It also won't tell you at all when the game is acting sluggish if the framerate is fine, such as its general reluctance to move forward through the text at the same speed you're clicking when trying to spam-click through the unread-but-very-similar text of alt dialogue options.

I wasn't expecting a whole lot from a 0.1 version of a game- fair is fair for early dev- but this reminds me heavily of the many unfinished real-porn HTML games in terms of story flow, where from moment-to-moment it alternates between dragging feet, going altogether too fast, then dragging feet again. Conversations lasting too long is also somewhat compounded by dialogue options that have essentially no effect whatsoever, and points in the story that feel like they're supposed to be impactful but really aren't - ending on the girlfriend becoming an ex is a fine example of this because it's the kind of twist that's visible the moment you introduce her as being left behind for two years as if it isn't a common trope, you give essentially no build-up to her character whatsoever for her to have any weight, then still act as if her leaving is a heavy note for the player. It probably is for the main character, but that's because they've a history that we have no privy to, and would make no particular sense including in the game because none of the story beats in the summary provide enough room to turn the summary into a full-length chapter to give her that development room. If you're determined, maybe make introduce her as an ex off the bat, and have part of the reason the protag is even so insistent on getting on the first scholarly voyage to be made available is having escapism as a factor - along with the actual research and note-taking aspects as the more important parts. You'd provide an immediate leeway into swapping "I'm unfaithful and going to guilt-trip the player indirectly despite this being mandatory" with the protag arguing with himself between "newly split, is it too early?" and "newly split, time to dick everything!" pretty much at will to provide an alternating pacing setup by winding down after the scene with the opposite.

After playing the game, I don't get why are people so mad about the art, it's not perfect, but it's not bad by any means. I don't care if it's AI generated or not, it looks way better than 80% of DAZ studio amateur games and the site is filled with those.
My only complaint is the animations, the blinking looks good, but the sex animations are kind of creepy, a static CG'd be better.
Anyway, good work and good look with the game!

Yeah this is very much on the level of koikatsu/daz game #759403, not interested but can see potential for this tech to maybe eventually put out something better than just okay.

I also have CriticalFPS data, but apparently this was affected by the pause, skip or loss of focus. I'll do tests on more machines, I could only do on a small number of machines. Thanks for the feedback on the story, I'll take it into consideration.

I will reduce the number of animations as long as I don't have an animator on team, as it's currently just me.

I don't care if it's AI art. It's still better looking than DAZ and those horrible Microsoft Paint looking drawings I see in some games on here.
Thank you! Besides the images with AI, there is a lot of human work involved, AI was just an accelerator.

I think AI complaints are a bit excessive here becouse in my opinion the art looks great. I don't care if a robot made it if it got me off.
The thing is, is that it requires using others real art to make reference to to generate that art. Basically people using other peoples artistic ability without crediting them or compensating them. Just because it is a very indirect form of thievery doesn't mean it isn't stealing.

If this is what I was learning in high school science class I might've paid more attention.

We just just picked up seeds with nail clippers and pliers saying it was like the finch beaks, learned nothing about the monster girls Darwin fucked.
Better than just being lectured on it, if even that -- Don't even remember if it was discussed or just that the name, theory, and/or how it came about was mentioned.

I could give you that. But then again the girl is literally a human with a tail. In the furry scale she would go no further than a 1. Maybe a 1.5 if we're being generous. So I don't really see why she is "biologically commited to reality".

View attachment 2291101

I find it more believable that the AI program was just lacking and didn't make an anus that looked okay-ish and you just rolled with the best picture that you had. Also from what I understand the cloaca in lizards is closed. It looks nothing like that human vagina that the girl has xD. Not that making an actual lizard vagina would be better but maybe some small scales to cover it that then change to the actual pussy in the next pic? I don't know

If she was half bird on the other hand I could buy it though.
Are we just ignoring the lizard tits in this 'anatomically correct' debate?
