"What I meant was a lot of the characters in TiTS are heavily sex based so removing the sex would take a lot of depth out of it.

Sera doesn't "flesh out" until she's breeding with you, Penny gets more plot the more the sex goes on and "bimbo's" her up, Syri starts out by railing your arse until she opens up and things like that.

While the setting is there and some of the characters (Rhea, Anno, Seandra, Fisi and Paige being some of my favourites in that particular game and Ursa in CoC) a lot of it is heavily based on the sex."

This might actually be part of why I prefer CoC over TiTS. But hey, that's personal preference.

I'll also note that there are two versions of the game, a public one and a Patreon one The only difference between them is that the Patreon build includes a cheat menu, otherwise they are the same. When I started working on the game originally, I had no intention of marketing it in any way. When my financial situation went from bad to terrible, I set up the Patreon account and was intending it as something of a tip jar, then I got the bright idea to leave the testing tools in place for those who pledged. I figure that on the grounds that the game was originally free, it was only right that it remains free. :cool: Short version: Free version includes all of the content currently in the game. Patreon version just makes it easier to find all of it. Only pledge something if you really want to.

There are a lot of sites out there, and even more games that have a wide range or porn games. There are some real gems out there, you just have to find them.

See, normally when playing a game like this and presented with obvious sex scene i'd be all over that shit.

Now i'm in a shop with Nadine wanting an itch scratching and i'm wondering how painfully i'm going to die.

Surprising how adding horror to erotica makes you second guess the sexy time.

I haven't got far, wandered around town and met some folk. Bumped into the faceless woman a couple of times and found a corpse washed up. I spent some time with Nadia and virgin lass with a bible and now chasing a bloke that looks like Tom through the bar.

I've bumped into a few random events and I admit, the writing is good, real good. So far so impressed. I'll certainly throw a bit to the tip jar for things like this.

The few i've played like this the danger has been obvious, here it isn't and that adds a tension I don't normally get. Really well done from what i've seen so far.

Overjoyed to hear that you're enjoying the game so much! It always makes my day to know I've earned a new fan.

And yes, lots of sexy times available, though almost all of it is optional. :evilsmile:

In my experience, it seems like most everyone is either hooked on the game, or completely turned off by it by the time they finish reading the murder scene in the intro. :closedeyesmile: And when they dont like it, general consensus is "Writing is good, but not my kind of story."

Currently, there is no new content after Day 7. So when you reach that point, you won't be able to progress into Day 8, though you'll still be able to wander around and explore the setting more.

I actually think its a lot of fun writing this setting. One of the things Lovecraft always did was created a threat that you knew was there, but made it difficult to fully understand, or even made it so the reader didn't necessarily know WHAT the threat was, though they knew it was there. I know my writing style is fairly different from his, but I have worked hard to try capturing that same sense of prevailing threat even if it always seems just beyond your grasp. I've heard that playing at night, with the lights off, and the soundtrack from the first Silent Hill video game playing softly adds significantly to the experience. :angel:

I'm not sure how the events all tie together yet, not enough to go on but you do have me hooked. I need to see how this plays out now.

I like your choice of creepy thing too. Faceless creatures always freak me out.

The description reminds me of a Cenobite from Hellraiser when I read it, not sure why.

Actually, the story is kind of layered. There is quite a bit going on. Some of it is fairly obvious, some of it is more subtle. The game is intended to unfold over a period of ten days, and there are a couple of big revaluations coming.

I always figure the best way to handle a story like this is how the X-Files used to do it. Give the audience an answer, but in doing so, create another question. :evilsmile:

I've heard that there are a lot of similarities to slenderman as well. When I was originally told about that creature, I actually went looking around the internet and noticed that there really were a lot of similarities. With the faceless aspect, I've always found that unsettling, as a kid, the original Alien movie was down right frightening to me when I saw that creature with no eyes, but it could sense where you were, . . .

I promise a new build once a month through Patreon (Free and pledge versions come out at the same time), but in reality new builds come out closer to every 2-3 weeks. I'm hoping to have a new build out during the last half of next week.

I figured there was a lot I haven't got close to grasping yet. I saw what was happening with my character in the morning and figured what was going on with the men but that doesn't explain any of the murders nor the creepy corpse from the start or even Toms role in any of it.

I'll say it again, good writing.

I'll also add, though it's probably not necessary, never feel you need to get a build out. I know people complain about waiting but we'd all rather wait for something you are happy with than one you push out to appease the people.

Honestly, I work on Wanton Cove every other week (Roughly). One week I write, the next its in testing at the end of which the new build comes out and the process starts over again. The week that the game is in testing, I spend that time working on a couple of other projects and do fixes. I've always promised 3k words of new content for a build, and usually I double that or more. I don't rush things, I take the time to do everything at the highest quality as I am able, and I'm more than happy to slow down to do things right if I ever need to. I've actually been working on Wanton Cove for about three years now, and its a work arrangement that has worked well for the project so far. :closedeyesmile:

Got to ask, . . . have you found the leatherbound tome yet?

I haven't yet, i've only hit day 4.

Normally I get my gaming done when the kids go bed but my youngest isn't feeling well so i'm trying to read between bouts of vomit and looking after her.

The one night I wanted to myself.

My luck.

If I remember correctly, you can find the book as early as day 2. Talk to Aaron about the Pastor, then return to the church, . . .

I know that feeling all too well. I have two kids who are still fairly small. After crushing one of the disks in my spine, since I couldn't get around real well, I became a stay at home dad. Best you can do is love her and treat her like a little princess until she feels better. Kids can be a lot of work, and a lot of frustration at times, but mine mean everything to me even if they drive me up the wall most days. I hope your little one feels better soon and that you can find at least a few moments of relative peace for yourself.

Me and my wife have 5 between us. We both have one each from a previous relationship and 3 together.

I love them all to bits but the youngest can take a sneeze and convince herself she has the plague.

LOL, your youngest is the opposite of mine, he split his head open one time and got mad at us because we made him stop playing because he needed stitches. When he's sick he's the same. You can tell he doesn't feel good, but he's more upset that he can't play as hard as he wants than that he's sick.

Our oldest died of a childhood cancer about ten years ago (Tears me up every day, but sometimes the best you can do is fondly remember those we have lost and move forward), the other two are twins. Its amazing how different kids can be, and its very rewarding to see them grow and learn.

I think that's my favorite thing about being able to write the way I do, it allows me a lot of flexibility to tend to family matters. Saves a fortune in daycare expenses and I can write while they are at school. :angel:

Whenever I get to the screen where we make our character My page goes completely white but the text is still there. Maybe its my comp but it happens on ever browser I try.

Glad to know you found the solution. Mind if I ask what was causing it? I try to keep tabs on reported issues, where they were reported, how often, by who, possible solutions, and all that. Gives me more to go on the next time something is reported, and gives me more to share if I need to ask someone for help at some point.

Thank you for this! Plan is to address but couple of bugs reported today with the hopes of getting a fix build up either later today or some time tomorrow.

The following fixes should be in place in this build:

-Variant of Cobb's scene on the main street through Wanton Cove for players who had not previously spoken with him did not have a link to progress further in the story. This has been fixed.
-Error that was triggering in the good part of town was related to the new Lady Anne content/ Lady Anne's intro and followup scenes have been completely rebuilt as a random event. (About 1/8 chance of triggering if a random event plays out in that area.) I plan to add the ability to visit her normally in the next major build of the game.
