It was explained several times but I guess some people have a hard time grasping:
1.Not everyone self inserts;
2.Not everyone wants to see happening IRL what they see in games.
Games, movies, tv shows, books and so on are entertainment. If you are as angry as someone is in real life when a virtual girlfriend dies, you probably need to talk with someone.
But as Eon Able said it seems like some people don't care about reality and prefer to live in their heads believing that every single person that plays GTA does so because they are serial killers...
It's not just that there's RPG elements in Interactive Erotic VNs or games.
Song writers, movie writers, book writers, and so on, emotionally move their audiences with intent.
This is a rudimentary aspect of storytelling.
Maybe some people can't be emotionally moved by stories?
But that would be abnormal, and probably grounds for needing to talk with someone.
If anyone stands within a group of people (audience) "in real life" and starts insulting them and trying to make them feel like inferior little bitch boys out of nowhere, it would be common sense to anticipate some physical education.

Of course but without feelings, it would just be empty. I really dislike empty sex. I don't find it interesting at all.
Especially porn games are good at creating feelings because you made decisions for the MC. I guess it does mean self inserting, in some way.

And again, if you can only feel things by self inserting maybe you might need some help with empathy... Projection is not the only way to feel things.
When I play GTA I enjoy the game and empathize with the characters without feeling any need to actually rob a bank IRL or kill people... NOONE plays games like that except maybe some psychopaths out there.
Normal people can play incest games without wanting to fuck their own mother... And most people that play NTR games don't want to be cucked either, that's where the big disconnect is.

I think they are both alright, but I would tend toward Harem. Harem seems to be easier to write and successfully pull off.
NTR, in all its varied manners, when written well can be more impactful but that is much harder to achieve. It is even harder when you take into account having to translate a lot of the NTR games.

Checking this forum after 2 days well lot of ntr fans there surprised to see and i am watching anime and what I see was really weird coz in this site or hentai site 90% of japanese content is ntr old bastard but in anime its complete opposite full of harem and if we count all the harem fan and those ntr hentai fan I think harem will win one sided for sure

I would say the polls here are nearly meaningless in terms of reflecting what the average consumer of such media thinks.
1) 243 (22-09-05) is an utter meme tier fraction of adult game players.
2) Since the sample size is so small, one has to wonder if the location of where the sample was taken could be flawed and or biased. What type of demographic was hit with this question?
3) The question is quite polarizing. A good chunk, if not the majority of people would answer, "neither, I prefer pure vanilla/ something else" or "both/IDC, I beat my dick regardless" or even "I hate both, they're equally shit"
4)Some people probably saw what the thread is about, said to themselves, "oh hell no" and instantly left. Knowing the usual shit storm and never even touched the poll, going back to point 2) regarding the demographics.
But that's just my take on this.
I would much rather focus on one chick. A harem is usually a wide vs depth issue. Which is why I would prefer NTR. Even in management games, I play by dumping all my eggs in one basket.

Polls mean nothing on this site and frankly the crowd who hates ntr to the point of it being a mental illness constantly goes out of there way make ntr percieved in a negative light tbh. Probably a bunch of alts voting just like they use alts to attack and review bomb devs who make that content.
Both options are huge red flags: games for people who tend to self-insert and also these games tend to have bad writing.

NTR can be an interesting concept....you start with a girlfriend while other games you have to do a lot of effort to get one. And you lose it shortly after.
But it is supposed to be rare. I mean it is like every RPG you start with high level and you begin to lose stats and equipment because you get weaker and have memory loss....it can lead to interesting challenge but it can never be the standard.
Harem is more standard experience in this field.
