Skyrim is the biggest joke around. I spent around 7 months modding the game and I spent more of my time patching and fixing bugs than I ever did playing. However, the game still crashed for me. You won't be getting a second game, you'll be getting Elder Scrolls 6: The somehow even buggier and broken game.

The issue still remains for me, I have to set the Ren'Py to render to DirectX for me otherwise I'll get this issue.
Skyrim even fixes have fixes, but is the best porn game around. SSE is a lot better in terms of performance.

The fella in the Path of Exile page said to be vulkan related. He changed to Directx and stopped, so it could be that.

Noticed this as well, and only after playing School Boss Harem. After that, all other Ren'Py games show "NO DC" in the upper left corner.

Tested this on another computer as well, same result.

After reading keanuxxx 's post about restoring default settings in NVIDIA Control Panel (and realizing both of the computers I tested on have NVIDIA GPUs), I did some digging and figured out that several NVIDIA related files were being modified.

Another fix seems to be navigating to "C:\ProgramData\NVIDIA Corporation\Drs" and deleting the file named "nvdrssel.bin". Not entirely sure what this file even does, as it appears to be an entirely empty, zero-length file before running School Boss Harem, and only contains a single byte (0x01) after running it. Deleting it seems to have no negative side effects, and gets rid of the "NO DC" in the corner of other Ren'Py games (and I assume anywhere else it was appearing).
Bro. No homo. I LOVE you right now. That worked perfectly. It's been pissing me off for several days now.

Thank you, this universally fixed it for me. I love you man.

Looks like only people with a NVIDIA card are affected by the watermark.

Any updates lately installed?
- GPU driver?
- Windows?
- Steam?

There is no v7.4.3. The latest available version is 7.4.2.
There's possibly a 7.4.3, but then it's the unstable version still only available through Ren'py GitHub page.

Therefore, it's possible that Ren'py turned something ON in the NVIDIA driver, in order to test something, or did a wrong thing with the OpenGL driver that lead to that result.

Well. there is no prerelease version of 7.4.3 out yet and on Github only nightly version are available and those are not named 7.4.3 either.

Sorry for the trouble I caused you guys. I was advised to use the nightly as the latest stable release was creating a false positive in windows defender for the 32bit executable. I'm going to run and hide under a table somewhere.

My laptop has a 2060 and it was happening, but restoring took it away thankfully!
There has been several updates to the drivers in the past week or so.

I've got a Cerberus 1050ti but run Mint 20.1 and never had this issue.
But a relative had this issue for the last week or so and they've got a Gigabyte 1050ti but it's windows 10 + nvidia geforce experience. They don't really play adult games but were noticing it on Path of Exile and some other game (don't remember that) but when Path of exile was mentioned, I remembered reading this thread yesterday and doing a search and coming across the PoE forums mentioning it. So I came here a few hours ago and saw the fixes list, told my relative what was done. Needless to say, it fixed the problem and as soon as this place was mentioned, we all had a laugh about how a porn forum found a solution faster than the forum he was looking at. LOL
So... good job for finding the answer.

Better to revert back to 7.3. A lot of people have issues with 7.4. No just the false positive issue. We had to for a game I work with the dev on due to the fact that most with older systems can’t run or have issues running games built in 7.4 due to the compatibility being removed.

What other issues do you mean people have with 7.4.x?

Not much has changed compare to 7.3.5 aside Win XP and software renderer support have been removed.

Latter use user‘s GPU renderer instead RenPy’s.

In general ost issues have been fixed with 7.4.2 aside the false-positive, which seems to be a Windows-only issue.
