Launch any Ren'Py game by holding shift key, or press shift+G once Ren'Py has started and switch the renderer.

There is no v7.4.3. The latest available version is 7.4.2.
Switching the renderer to Angle/DirectX removes the text for that Renpy game. But remains in others so will have to do it for each game.

But at least it can be removed so thank you.

Yes this angle/directX renderer method works for most of my games, but not for the one from the screenshot i posted(Oath of Loyalty)there is no angle/direct option and choosing one of the others crashes or can't launch the game, but at least its just 1 game. Thanks :)

Yes, because each Ren'Py game comes with it's own closed environment. It would be different if every game would use a shared environment like Unity games do.

Tried my download of Oath of Loyalty and had the same issue. Looks like its 7.4.1. For me Angle/DirectX worked for 7.3.5 games and ANGLE for 7.4.2 games.

Try to disable Vulkan support in your GPU settings.
problem is that with directx 12 , im using a gtx 1060 6gb , so im loosing frames ... , i will try to disable now and re-enable just to see if it does anything . Tried and yes it seems vulkan is affected by this ... Im no expert in ren'py , isnt there something that it installs that cause this to happen ? where is this hidden thing ?

I had the same issue. Changing the audio output from my monitor to my headset fixed the issue.

Edit: I found this only works when done in combination with changing the renderer to DirectX.

I had the same issues as well, Its appears to be a OpenGL issue as it also appears in Java Minecraft.

I'm not sure of the proper Fix however I did happen to fix it for Nvidia graphics cards.

Go to Nvidia Control, Manage 3D Settings, and Click Restore then apply

it is no longer showing on any Renpy games or Minecraft so it appears to have fixed it
not sure what setting in 3D setting caused the issue if anyone knows please let me know

Hope this helps

Worked for me thank god I was going crazy, I randomly felt like playing some kotor 2 earlier today so I downloaded it and had the dc message thought it came from a mod or something I added and didn't think much of it. Then I got it in a renpy game aswell and thought well shit.

Noticed this as well, and only after playing School Boss Harem. After that, all other Ren'Py games show "NO DC" in the upper left corner.

Tested this on another computer as well, same result.

After reading keanuxxx 's post about restoring default settings in NVIDIA Control Panel (and realizing both of the computers I tested on have NVIDIA GPUs), I did some digging and figured out that several NVIDIA related files were being modified.

Another fix seems to be navigating to "C:\ProgramData\NVIDIA Corporation\Drs" and deleting the file named "nvdrssel.bin". Not entirely sure what this file even does, as it appears to be an entirely empty, zero-length file before running School Boss Harem, and only contains a single byte (0x01) after running it. Deleting it seems to have no negative side effects, and gets rid of the "NO DC" in the corner of other Ren'Py games (and I assume anywhere else it was appearing).

Both YES DC in Daz Studio and Ren'py Games

EDIT: Alright, one of them seems to have worked. Not sure which one.

But thanks a lot to everyone that looked to fix this. It's was driving me MAD.

Who do you think broke everything? Microsoft? NVIDIA? Bethesda?

Bethesda is always guilty.

But it's was probably NVIDIA. These fuckers.
I actually stopped updating my GPU driver months ago and yet somehow I still suffer from this issue, so maybe not NVIDIA? I wouldn't be surprised if it was Microsoft, they're almost as bad as Bethesda as of late when it comes to updates.

Could be both of them, perhaps. It seems to have fixed so far, and both the things I did were related to NVIDIA.
Maybe something related to DirectX or Vulkan. My biggest fear is that it could've been some malware.

But where is my Skyrim 2 Todd

Skyrim is the biggest joke around. I spent around 7 months modding the game and I spent more of my time patching and fixing bugs than I ever did playing. However, the game still crashed for me. You won't be getting a second game, you'll be getting Elder Scrolls 6: The somehow even buggier and broken game.

The issue still remains for me, I have to set the Ren'Py to render to DirectX for me otherwise I'll get this issue.
