I see a lot of people complaning about the quality of the story in the reviews, because everybody knows that the strenght of every hentai product is its story (irony), and nobody says anything about the real point of the game, which is if there is mosaic censorship and what the overall quality of h-scenes is.

Avaron1974 Is it stupid? I don't think so, because if you want to tell a well made story in a game, you don't spend time, money, work and resources to create something absolutely pointless for good-quality storytelling like hentai scenes and erotic component (for example adding uncensored content, erotic animation for certain actions, the ability to strip or to make your character walk around naked, etc.), it is more logic the fact that you invest what you have in improvements for the narrative.
Otherwise you'll end up wasting a lot of effort to get something absolutely pointless for the type of game you want to create

As if the two were somehow required to be mutually exclusive. Nothing stops porn creators from including solid storylines except laziness, complacency, and blunt lack of ability.

And censor is to be taken for granted in JP games due to how their damn laws about this shit are written. How do you not know this already.

Or otherwise this is a type of product with completely different priorities. This is not difficult to understand.
Playing an h-game expecting a good story is like doing the same thing with a porn movie, which is something no one with sanity would ever do.
Moreover, I know how law works in Japan, and in fact I never said the Japanese developers should do something against the law of their country. They can just sell the games to Western distibutors and then they will take care of the rest (releasing uncensored patches, adding localization and so on).
In this way we can get uncensored patches not directly from the developers (which would be illigal), but indirectly from the western localization companies.

A legitimate demand would be quality and investments to improve the main purpose of this type of games, which is h-content (for example improved CG graphics for h-scenes), and not for things absolutely optional .
Making a good story, but bad h-content for an h-game is like making a lunch where all the food sucks, but the coffee is good. Can you say you ate well? I would say no. As for the rest, the only important thing in an h-game is the fact that story is able to create a good number of quite erotic and perverse situations (especially with particular and extravagant situations or extremely descriptive dialogues, for example telling the point of view of the characters involved, or the fact that you should have in a game with a certain number of characters all types of sex with them, maybe with some not mandatory options to include or exclude some fetishes) in order to increase the overall erotic value and to give desire to the player to go on. But this doesn't necessarily include the story being particularly well written from a narrative perspective.

And on that note lemme quote one of the reviews: All in all, it's just not a good knock-off, and the text can probably be solidly skipped if you really want to see the H-scenes. You might want to find a 100% save for those anyway, as the context surrounding them doesn't make them any better than just going in through the gallery.

Plus many of the reviewers were less than impressed by the H-scenes themselves either so... yeah.

As if ANY of that was a zero-sum game like you for some bizarre reason keep implying/assuming. That's a textbook False Dichotomy fallacy - those are quite independent variables which do not inherently overlap less still conflict with each other.

Though generic, derivative boilerplate story writing does have a certain tendency to correlate with generic, derivative boilerplate H scene writing. Lazy untalented hacks do be like that.

I'd also point out that people tend not be overly thrilled with good food being served on filthy plates in a pigsty. If you're going to use a metaphor do think it through properly.

"Mediocre" is acceptable, "bad enough to be an insult to the reader" isn't. Doubly so if the latter is trying to take itself seriously because oblivious pretentiousness tends to sit poorly with audience that has any semblance of taste.
