Mainly because I don't believe html games should be profited off, especially porn games. Also I don't want to be restricted to have to put out mediocre updates just to fulfill a quota (e.g. summertime saga, rogue-like, something unlimited, etc).
I'm a strong believer in community projects and open source so maybe some day I'll even put the source code up for mods or the like.

Have you not thought about using Patreon even to hire artists for the game? (I see a lot of potential in the game but I think using AI art is not the best idea)

Paying an artist is not cheap at all, and due to the content of the game this game cannot be on Patreon and even more so when alia appears, perhaps it could be on SS but nothing guarantees that it will give you success and be able to hire an artist .

isn't it possible to set up a patreon like a donation box though? you could put utter bullshit rewards with MS paint stick figures on the crap site then advertise it on other sites saying fund here if you want the actual game to have better art or whatever no?

It would have been the perfect time to put out an update, yes, but that will have to wait. lmno is absent for a few weeks and not working on anything during this time.
Rebecca Ferguson can be very sexy, but she isn't in this movie, IMO. I did like second part quite a bit though. There were some things in it that I didn't like, but overall very good and much better than the bland first part.
Of course it has crossed my mind, but it's not as easy as it sounds.
First of all, I do insist on having a single art style, so that means a single artist, or possibly two: One doing character art, one doing backgrounds.
But development of this game is very much stop-and-go at this time. There's no telling how long it will take and there would likely be times when there is little to do for the artist and they would have to look for work elsewhere, unless we want to pay them during that time too. So if we hire/commission an artist now, there is no way of telling whether they will still be available later.
The most realistic way to deal with that problem would be to develop the game without any artwork for now and only commission an artist once it comes close to completion, so that there is no downtime. But that doesn't sound very attractive to me. I'd rather have artwork now, even if it is inferior.
If any artist out there reads this and thinks that my assessment is wrong, feel free to correct me.

On the subject of hiring people: If there is anyone out there wishing to help out on this game, for free of course, we would be glad to accept your help. Coding, AI wrangling, image editing or even animating, whatever skills you think you can contribute to the project, even if it's just for a short time.

Maybe this is possible, maybe it isn't. I have heard that patreon is looking at off-site content of their creators nowadays and has kicked out creators based on that. But that's just hearsay and I haven't bothered checking if that is indeed the case.

You'd be correct, Patreon has initiated the second witch hunt and is chasing down anything that vaguely breaks their TOS. Even if it's actual fan content rather than the author's off-site content. Most likely one of their payment providers such as Paypal or stakeholders has seen something they don't like and demanded a cleansing of fire.
If you do need a site I would go for Subscribestar.
Also looking forward to the next update, no need to rush. Quality takes time.
But for real guys, what are you looking for the most in the game? I want to see lots of inbreeding between Paul and Jessica
