I am already anticipating that... Not being listed on Patreon, or mentioned, makes that a losing battle. Selling my cock on the side, and having a "fan of my cock", donate towards my actual games... Holds no legal grounds for removal or prosecution, or even TOS. :p

Warhol did it, so can I... People weren't paying for his art. He was sucking cock for the money. I am going to be posting another update, later-on tonight.

Just giving a heads-up, for those who follow me. (Since the edits to the first post do not trigger any kind of "update", in the mods section.)

I just completed all the areas below. (Both the code and the image-conversions.)
- Home: Your Bedroom (Max/Lisa)
- Home: Spare Bedroom (Alice)
- Home: Master Bedroom (Eric/Ann)
- Home: Bathroom
- Home: Lounge (Is also the kitchen?)
- Home: Terrace
- Home: Poolyard
- Home: Bedroom Doors (Peeping/Closed)
- Home: Bathroom Door (Only one)
- Town: Clothing Store

This includes the navigation, which displays the three image-foundations, which represents the four times of day.

Thus, each has a "Night", "Dawn", "Day", and a "Dusk", image. (Dawn and Dusk are the same image. As if the sun were low on the horizon. Not ideal, but functional.)

There was 30 images that needed manual editing to strip the "Big Brother" logo from them. They do not export those images in the assets decrypter. Seems they are in another location that is not managed by that nice little toy.

Yay, now you can actually "go somewhere", instead of the dialogue dragging you around. Unfortunately, no-one is actually at those locations yet. All you can do is "SLEEP" for 60 minutes. (Used to test the hour/minute/day progression. Needed to test for the correct images loading at the right times.)

I want to get the core of the "schedules" setup tonight, before I actually do an official update to the first posting. So, at the moment, I am taking a few hours break. I need to go sign a contract at my new apartment, and get something to eat.

Movement within a location will not actually consume time, unless you actually interact with the location. Thus, flipping through locations, within the HOME, will not advance time until you select to "PEEP", or "TALK", or whatever, at some specific location. However, traveling to any TOWN location, will consume time, even if you do nothing there.

I may have the option to WALK (to conserve energy and kill time, while traveling), or RUN (to speed-up travel, at the cost of your daily energy), or TAXI (since you don't own a car, which will cost you, but no loss of energy.)

I am thinking of some locations for the "CITY", as opposed to the "TOWN", which is local. They demand a TAXI. But that is for the future ideas, not for anything now. Using that limitation as kind of a progression constraint.

Honestly, I lucked-out with some code. RenPy is sooo forgiving and "smart" in many ways that assist development. Saved me a LOT of headache, in some instances. (Made more headaches, in other instances. :p )

i wonder if a parents recently divorced beginning would work you know for people who don't want to deal with eric to say at the starting line "on yer bike" granted its a simple intro and used alot in other stuff but hey if it ain't broke don't fix it

Nah I think Eric is essential but his progress on the girls is based on choice, so they're not divorced but they've got problems since he cheated on Anne once and you take advantage of this to get rid of him. Part of the fun was getting rid of him.

However, there will be a few paths that send Eric into great living discomfort. Remember, he isn't exactly the same prick in this version. He is actually more human and realistic. Again, I have a hard time digesting the "story", in any aspect, in the original game. It just isn't cohesive enough to actually follow. Nor does it seem to have a real path, other than in or out, with stuff in the middle.

Back to developing.

So, I knocked-off the last of the required images needed, for the beginning of the story. Now it is just the final bits of code needed to display them and manage all the interactions.

I think I can safely say that I am at the 95% functional point in development. I have not updated the front page, yet, but I will try my hardest to do it this morning. (It is one hour away from morning here.)

I am still trying to think of a "title" for the first "act".

For those who are interested, I am an actual writer. The format I follow, for stories and novels, is a modified "W-Plot". Usually setup in five parts/acts. More info, for those interested... (I just picked some random link. Not sure of the quality of the information on there. It looked decent.)

The first being started on some false "high", which tumbles quickly into chaos. This ends in the lowest-low, of the story, in my variations. I like constant progression, but drama-writers tend to make the first low a mild one, getting worse for the following one.

Second, comes a "build-up", which is never as climatic as the endings I write. Again, drama-writers and show-writers, tend to make this first "climax" a superficial "maximum". Though they degrade it in the following chapters and with the horrible endings. I like to save the "best for last". They like to normalize the endings.

Third, is the second high-horse kicker. Just when you think you are on some supreme path to greatness, something comes and knocks you down. In this story, the fall isn't as low as the first, as it would defeat the purpose of all past progression.

Fourth, is the bottom of the stalled progression. Shit could go up from here, or back down to a lower level. Naturally, nearing the end, you know it is going to go back up. However, I tend to add-in a whole "W" into the following incline. The path to the final concluding holes that were opened-up along the way. There are more of the same hurdles to get past, making the last-mile to the finish-line, worth the read. (Because at this point, the ending is honestly "expected", and shit gets dull on the last few chapters. I like to rebirth some of the struggle, making it more worthy of getting to that last line in the story.)

In all honesty, I don't think the whole first chapter will have anything more than some peeping and possibly some heart-felt personal exposure of the characters. I could throw-in some "dreams", and/or "fantasies", as an excuse to add some more "porn", than there normally would be.

Already a good sign towards the story that you are reading about scenario's and novel structure.
I feel the W-plot structure is a very basic and solid structure wich is widely used throughout written and visual stories.
Though it is a rough layout of how the story will unfold itself, it should greatly help writing an interesting and good story.

Ofcourse a good story doesn't only need a good structure, (characters, plot twists, backstory, ...) but it is a solid start.

It was controversial a couple of months ago when whole NTR thing was new here. Now with all these games with NTR in them (The Tyrant, MGA etc.) it's clear that success isn't so hard to achieve. In fact early BB was a success in that regard that even if some haters were vocal game was still growing in a fast pace. Those loud people who despise NTR won't play TA probably regardless of other elements. And that's cool cuz they're spamming some nonsense most of the time.
I wonder what's the quality of writing in TA. It's easy to be better than DS in that regard (especially as native) but I hope it will be a rather slow story when it comes to relationships development.

I updated the first post... I just crossed-off item #6 on the list.

Finally, the most excruciating part is done! (Mostly)

It is functional, for the moment. However, it is not exactly like I want it to be. I am trying to rush this a little. I was getting hung-up on the stupidest shit. Literally, my mind would draw blanks, as I sat down with a full concept and game-plan for tackling a hurdle... Then, fuck-me, RenPy would have other plans for my next few hours.

To make a long story short...

1: Icons now properly display who is where, without ghetto "tricks" in code.
2: The greater majority of code is drop-in ready, for modding and expanding the story and graphics.
3: A large majority of the "structure", follows a constant format... Though it is still a little bit of chaos.
4: The scenes are responding to the dialogue, as expected, with the schedules and icons. Here is one area that needs major cleaning-up, in code. Looks hack-ish, like beta-testing code. Um... Which it is. :p
5: Playing the introduction tests, it didn't feel odd. I feared that the format might be a little too far from standard, but it grows on you and isn't that far from the norm.
6: Forcing myself to make a stopping point. Much can be done, or redone later. I have enough of the foundation to begin the writing, until I hit that first hard-fork in the story.

Still "TO DO": At a later date... after release.
1: Character status indicators. They are soft stats, not like LIFE, ENERGY, COCK-POWER... More for letting you know which paths you are traversing. LOVE, CONTROL, RESPECT/TRUST, VOYEUR... Along with Eric's stats, which show the main story progress and your influence to his paths. (Or lack there of.)
2: Character icon stacking. At the moment, they are at fixed locations. Lisa is always on the far left, followed by Alice, Kira, Ann and then Eric. I didn't like seeing Max's icon in the locations. Your selected location is mostly clear. Essentially, Lisa is always in the same left slot, and Eric is always in the same right slot, on every location. Doesn't look horrible, but I would rather that they stack centered and close. I opted for easy to manage code instead.
3: Setup the "main events" and "quests". These will all be important to path-progression and/or advancement. Quests over-rule any main-events, and main-events over-rule any generic event. (Generic, like talking, flirting, snooping and peeping.)
4: His computer... So much will depend on the computer. Since, in the beginning, he is home-bound. This will be slightly more interactive, and not require multiple, and odd, back-out selection-lists. You actually, kind-of, interact with the screen, directly.
5: Game-codes... I want game-codes, for progression markers. I trust them more than RenPy's save-game style. It normally just saves the games "state", and reloads it. Tends to fail if you alter anything which it saved, and it suddenly doesn't exist anymore, or the values changed. Game-codes don't give a shit! You just don't get the luxury of restarting exactly where you left-off, down to the micro-second. (Plus, easy to exchange codes than it is to exchange whole save-files. Not to mention the potential to manipulate them. I don't mind, the game doesn't have any bad endings.)
6: True isolated graphics. (I will have to render those from scratch. Nothing much that he made, is able to be used as isolated graphics. Not even the same exact scenes! How the fuck to you screw that up?)
7: The "official", incest MOD. Since I have decided to gut the incest completely. Unless you imagine all the characters being related... Which is possible. This will also open-up the "non-incest" selections too. Now, you get what I tuck-away into the story. Hell, it's a BETA release... I'll be happy if it works well enough for everyone, without issue.

On that last note... I may release the CORE and the IMAGE-PACK, as well as the WHOLE GAME, all at once.

I will keep the CORE changes as "fixes", and bundle those into the new WHOLE-GAME packs. Might sound confusing, but that is the best way to do it, at the moment. The total graphics-pack size, unzipped, is currently only 16.1 MB. However, I have not added any of the scene images yet. I will only add them as needed, in the story.

My code, without any real dialogue, is about 5.27 MB.
My scene files are roughly, 106-272 KB. (Avg: ~145 KB)
The originals are roughly, 419-2019 KB. (Avg: ~982 KB)

Which is why updates/fixes, which don't alter images, will be isolated as just the code. 6 MB to redownload, is a lot less than the 21.3 MB for the whole thing.

NOTE: All his images, alone, total over 1.7 GB.

I may also try to make image-pack updates too. But no more than a few. It will be a while before I get near 1.7 GB. Still, that is a LOT to keep re-downloading, every single time. If I had a server, I could use RenPy's internal update tool, but I don't have a server anymore.

So... Off to get some sleep and then I will begin the final clean-up and removal of the test-code. Going full force on the actual "story" development.

Thanks... Still, not to much, for the beginning, but it appeases the rules of Patreon and other sites for hosting.

I thought I was going to have a good solid five hours of working on this, before work today... But my sister just left to do the walk-through with the new apartment. Thus, I have a tiny terror here to stall my work-flow. I should be unencumbered tonight, after work.

Makes me wish I woke-up earlier. Maybe the walk-through will be a short visit. Hell, it's just a tiny two bedroom apartment.

Also adding... At the end of the month, I will be losing my internet here. Not sure how long before this settlement paperwork takes to complete. So, if I seem to have disappeared for a few weeks, it is due to the inability to hijack free internet for posts. (I'm losing it all. Phone, Internet, Cable, all on the same billing.)

When I do come back, I will most-likely have this...

Basically, you donate $500 and get a 4G WiFi hotspot. Which is actually $100 for the hot-spot, and $400 a year for the 4G connection service. For me, that is fine. It is about $34 a month for 30+ GB a month of about 50-150 Mbps speeds. (Where I will be located, it will get about 65-90 Mbps bursts and about 68 Mbps steady.)

The alternative is getting cable again, and then ALSO buying an internet package, which would be rape at $80+ a month, for shit channels and shitty 21 Mbps speeds for internet. Just for internet, they essentially charge the same price here. You still have to have the damn high-speed router/modem, and buy the fiber-optics package, even though it is not a fiber-optics connection.

Plus, I can double-up on hot-spots, if needed. (My devices all have dual-WiFi connections. :p )

Actually, I qualify for free internet, since I am poor. lol. However, with the settlement I am about to get, I won't qualify anymore. Plus, they cap you at 2GB per month, for that ghetto service. (Decent, but not suitable for my needs.)

EDITED: Corrected speeds... I originally put my 3G tests from my phone.

I have another video of progress. I tried to limit it to less talking time. However, I tend to ramble at times.

Also note, the video seems to be brighter than the game actually is. That might have just been on my preview-mode, but I will not know for sure, until I see it actually processed and displayed by youtube.

Summary:
- Recap of the "schedule" system and associated character movement.
- Mention of the various "activities", being "Quests", "Events" and "Generic"
- Mention of the path-progressions and possible variations
- Concluding with the hopes that I can get the actual dialogue started, after adding some of the required artwork needed for the schedules to display them at locations.

Still haven't finished the video but this has the potential to be the best game on here imo, not that it has much competition in the first place. It seems like you know what you're doing engine wise and you're also using arguably the best renders.

If the story is on par with the rest of the game, this will be a huge hit.

I will be the first to admit that my knowledge of RenPy is limited to what you see in the video. That has taken about a month to learn. Mostly by trial and error. Python codes NOTHING like any other language I have ever programmed in.

I hope, if this is as good as others think it is, that it is used to encourage others to match it. I personally feel that it is on-par, program-wise, with the quality of art I see others making.

However, for the story writing, I can't say that I want ALL games to model after anything I write. Sometimes you want cheesy porn, other times you want something more realistic, other times you want something you can cuddle-up with.

I am going to try to be somewhere in the middle of all three, I hope. Realistically, far-fetched, and cuddleable, without putting you to sleep. :p

As long as "far-fetched" doesn't include everyone working in the porn industry like in BB it should be fine. I prefer the more realistic stuff but you can't please everyone at the same time.
