Hey guys, could someone suggest a good translate machine for the Cross Days? After suffering for an hour or so I got the game fully working but I suck at Japanese.
Hello everyone once again. I managed to normally install and run the game, able to save and the game runs normally.+ Dealt with the machine translation, the game fully works for me. Should I make a full guide how to install, normally open the game and play it without the problems(ish, cause it crashes sometimes)?
Is the MTL playable? If so maybe I'd be interested in giving it a go. The crashes happen with every one of these games and the "fix" has been posted on these threads many times but if you want to make a more detailed guide go ahead. Not sure how much traffic it would get on this Cross Days thread though since there's no English version available.
Could you elaborate what's MTL? About the fix, I applied it and the game opens and doesn't send me back in the menu. I've meant that it crashes on it's own after about 2-3 hours of gameplay or so. Gonna blame that old engine for being stupid. I am sure that some people would play the game even with the machine translation, this game is really underrated. Even as it's noticed that MC is a crossdresser, he's doing that only considering choices, not automatically or as plot says so.

lol you didn't knew? I suppose then you should play this game after I try to make a detailed guide so anyone would run it and translate. I played this game on 21H1 Windows 10 so it may work for everyone (I hope)
MTL is short for machine translation. I meant is it understandable if you don't know any Japanese. And I am talking exactly about those crashes. It happens with School Days and Shiny Days as well and you can make it crash way less often by increasing the games priority and unchecking other CPU usage.
Just like any machinery translation it has a lot of cringey moments translating the text, but DeepL tried it's best. What else would I expect from the machine translation?
After playing a little I got used with paraphrasing translated text, so I have no problems with that.
By the way increasing priority and unchecking CPU usage didn't work, I still bet it's because of that stupid engine.
Well yea the dialogue is almost certainly gonna be cringey but something you'll get something comprehensible and other times you'll get random gibberish about monkeys and bubbles during a love confession.
The priority/CPU thing isn't a perfect fix because like you say the engine just sucks but for me at least it takes the crashes from every 5 minutes to maybe every 4-5 hours, sometimes not at all if I don't try fast forwarding through anything. It's completely playable if I just save often and even if you don't save for a while the games let you skip entire scenes so you can get back to your spot easily.
And that's what I've meant, it crashes after a couple of hours, so I am fully satisfied it's not crashing after every 5 minutes. + It doesn't crash if you fast forward a lot, just sometimes when you're on the next scene it may crash.
Anyways I played it some time and personally I am not disappointed, although I get why this game failed.

EDIT : Solved, I moved the folder toa shorter path (C:\Update) and it somehow worked
Now, I'm struggling with Textractor. Did you manage to make it work ? The game completely crashed when I tried to add the hook

Consider downloading this torrent instead (Just cancel the other games that you don't have any interest in)
(There are two versions of cross days there, choose the cracked one's but still download the patch located on Cross Days, not cross days hddd not installing)

The hook injects into the game absolutely normally for me, I've never experienced any problems with that part. Maybe you can try to launch the Textractor in admin as same as the game? Then try to hook it.
If it didn't work out, then I am not sure how it doesn't hook into the game. My Textractor is located in downloads folder on C drive, the game is installed on the suggested Overflow path. Really surprised that it got crashing for you.
EDIT: Added patch 1.00b notice for unzipping so who may face the same problem won't have any problems.

2021 and still no uncensored version of this one. It's been years I watched all H-scenes of this one (censored version). There's a nice anal scene with Kotonoha. Well, there was also one in Original (japanese version) of School Days, but it got dropped once in JAST hands... Don't know why.
I am sure that 0verflow isn't planning for global release. This game is quite outdated and instable with it's installation and gameplay (too much crashes). H-scenes are quite boring for me in this game, a lot of them look like they've got cut
I would only wish you luck, because I started with Cross Days Project some time ago as well, but I gave up, the limit of 58 characters and 41k lines are way too much impossible for 1 person translation.
Care to add my installation guide? I think a lot of people would feel better if they're facing installation problems. Not forcing though, just saying.
