For her, kitchen appliances are pretty new. Modern ones only a thing in the last 10 ish years. She's been ordered to cook before, and may have been pretty decent with old appliances, but she was never really motivated to learn every new appliance that came out, until now!

I don't think the walkthrough is really nesseccary, check all the rooms out and stuff happens. I didn't miss a scene without using a walkthrough.

No so-long as you have enough space available on your device it should be fine.
Harem Hotel has over 9500 ish images at the moment, so 1.5 gigs is nothing. If I didn't use this compression technique, the game would likely be over 25 - 30 GB

That's a strange setting detail. In the real world, stoves have been around since the 1800s and it's not like they've changed all that much in that time. Cooking is cooking regardless of what you use for a heat source anyway; food doesn't care if it's heated by electricity, gas, or wood.
The washing machine, now, those are new, and modern ones are more complicated than a stove. I think Lin just wanted an excuse so as not to disappoint MC.
Besides, she already told us that she could never cook when talking about her old masters.
Assumingly, she was never really a cook. I believe she said she was more of a house maid, like cleaning. While she has used a couple stoves in the past, they change often.
I mean, how does this 1800s stove work? Looks like alien tech to me, haha.
