Hello! I don't know if any of you will recognize me but I'm Vici's animation partner Kitsune (@ KitsuneEcchi). First just want to give another thanks to those of you that supported us. It means a lot to us (˵^ ◡ ^˵)❤ And even those who haven't and just like watching we're happy to see you enjoy them too!
Fischl wasn't originally planned as a 20+ minute animation that would take a year, but no surprises there. Our work is very open and malleable, often influenced by not just our own ideas but the many ideas our fans request through Patreon and in our near daily discord live streams of our progress. We don't truly know how our works will look in the end until we reach the end and just enjoy seeing it take shape as we add as many fun ideas as we can. Perhaps a few too many at times, which we more fully understand now.
To set some expectations our pace has always been ~1.5-2 mins of finished animation per month, and that hasn't changed in spite of the higher complexity. With that in mind, for as long as Fischl has taken overall we've still been working faster than it may seem. As mentioned Mona x Slime was 9 minutes but took us over 4 months. And with more basic animation that we could re-use better across many scenes. Fischl is around 2.5 times longer with far more complexity and still keeping similar pace. We also spent about 1.5 months on Succubus Hu Tao in the middle of Fischl, another 2.5 mins of finished animation.
All of this to say it should be plainly clear that there is no "milking", "stalling", or any other choice of words to insinuate it's just an easy ride for us. We even paused memberships a handful of times in the last year and half. Fischl is just a huge animation compared to our past works and we simply aren't fast enough to make something like this in just a few months. We work 7 days a week on this outside of sickness a couple times a year or short breaks to spend time with family. Many of our patrons have watched first hand day after day how we work in our discord and know exactly why this kind of work takes so long. Surely some of it our own inexperience admittedly, but not for a lack of effort.
But again we understand the frustrations and have given plenty of thought about how to tackle the many ideas we have for the future. We do apologize for the wait, but when making something equivalent to ~6 of our normal animations we can only get through it so quickly even working each and every day. We only want to give you the best we're capable of, just a bit sooner next time (｡> ‿ ◕｡)

It's crazy how much hate they are getting for this. It's plainly obvious that this is not a case of milking the audience, it's just excessive perfectionism, not uncommon among indie creators. If you don't think the in-progress animations are worth good enough (they are honestly top notch, tbh), just cancel your damn subscription ffs. You literally don't lose a single thing by waiting to resub when it is released. How goonbrained to you have to be to get so upset about not getting a porn video exactly when you want it?
I remember years ago, when the (in)famous "Wolf Girl with You" game was in development for like 5 years or something, with a 1/10th as much 'work in progress' content as this animation has had. Can't imagine what the thread would have been like in here lmao.

None of this addresses the problems.
Saying you made a long work doesn't explain you spending half a year claiming you worked on lights, then started working on lights, finished lights, and then working on lights.
If you paid me to do something, I told you i'm working on it and then the next month told you i'm moving to start working on it, this is not explained by my perfectionism
"Wolf Girl With You" also has 3% the number of total paid users and only charged 1 dollar vs up to 5.
Even if Wolf Girl was still not released right now, it would still have made less than 1/10th what Fischl has cost. Even if all the people had subscribed to Wolf Girl artist's patreon from day 1 in 2016 to today, the artist would still have made less than the Fischl project

Only thing i know that when it is finished it will be amazing animation and i can be patient.

This is nonsense. No one has paid for this animation. People are paying for a patreon subscription that has consistently delivered some content for the whole time that this animation has been in development.
If you don't think paying for a patreon sub is worth the content you get, then you unsub. You don't even need to be subbed to see whether the animation (i.e. what you want to pay for) is released. You will lose literally nothing by resubbing when the animation is released. I'm blown away to see so many people who apparently don't understand this. Anyone who is upset about how much they paid on patreon before the full release has no one to blame but themselves.
Imo it's not about the money people spend on patreon subs or how consistent their WIPs are. The criticism is that they don't release the vid as promised.
On Feb 19 Vicineko postet on kemono that the animation will be completed that month and one would expect they begin with sound after that beginning in March. Silence followed until Mar 14 and the Patreon post "final push" which said work should be completed in about 2 weeks = Mar 28 +/- a few days. Again, no release. 4 days ago Vici commented they need about a few days for re-recording. Since then, nothing.
Tbh, giving a release window followed by a delay twice (second delay ongoing without any estimate) led to a backlash because at this point it's understandable that people are getting frustrated or even furious. What makes it worse is that Vici didn't post anything the past few days. (Don't know if he posted anything on discord)

Whether he has posted on discord or not your explanation is 100% the issue. he has left people in blank excluding discord(idk what is being said there as im not joined in it either).
Yea I believe you. That's why they have a paid service and not just releasing it for free without a subscription service.
Your defense of it still doesn't explain how "perfectionism" makes you bend the time space continuum.

The length is explained in one of the comments vicineko replied on his recent patreon post. If im not bad in memory it said around 27minutes.

If you count like 1,5 min per month for Fischl X Slime Project and include the time of few other projects, and lets say around 1 month for vacation then the timing is perfect.
Idk why people rage so much.
I personally not mad about how long its taking, as above others and i will say for the third time, its the broken promises with schedules. Vicineko himself said he hates scheduling things in stone, ok cool understandable, but yet he did post this recent and said it was going to be in around 2 weeks, we are now past that and whats worse no comment since the day he said he was rerecording voiceover and that will take "few days", for me after hearing all his excuses plus setting up a schedule which he knowingly hates doing that, just makes people even more frustrated and furious and sadly lose trust. And for anyone saying "then just cancel your subs lol" this has never been about that at all although some do feel that way but thats a you problem in that case.

Because it doesn't matter if it's a pirate site or not, my point was about how Vici commented there (or it was copied from patreon, still the same). I listet comments of the dev about the release window, same about his comments on patreon, as well as the delays. Nothing more, nothing less.
This is the only informations publicly available, because for me it looks like you have to sub to gain access to their discord. And paying just to get access to information (not WIPs or anything else) which should be public is a big red flag for me.
The recent post is available for everyone to read tho so not a real red flag
Edit: im sorry im sorry i read that wrong, yes apparently you have to be a member aka pay a sub for getting access to the discord. Its funny a bit cuz once the commmunity complains then were the bad guys while they have an exclusive server where as far as i read from other member, stream daily and who knows what else they keep people informed that are leaving the outsiders in kahoots. Their discord stuff is just badly set up that way imo i dont see a reason to paywall the server knowing stuff like these can happen due to lack of information.

Well yes of course we get it riizuwu its obviously not easy job and obviously you cant rush art but the REAL issue is that theyve been on and on giving false hopes of release dates instead of Just not giving an ETA then people wouldnt be complaining in the first place. Its really hard to justify anything about their doings so far. I hope that after this releases they for real know how to get things organized and rethink wether it is a good idea to give an ETA or not cuz hell has it pissed off many people!!
Edit: Im gonna end it here as its already starting to look like twitter drama lol but i sincerely wish the best for this release, just hope they learn from this mess theyve caused.
