if you are trying to please patrons/community with every little thing (as mcs look is), you will most probably end either in mental asylum or dropping the game for good.

The thing is, Mc looked bad, even from my perspective. At first I had a low budget video card and I didn't care much about Mc's appearance. With a bad card it looks ugly no matter what I do to him.
I just change him a little and ask people which one is better, that's all. I don't try to please everyone because others voted for the opposite look.

While I generally agree strongly with the view that developers should stick to their guns about their games, I believe this is a cosmetic change that has zero effect on the game's progress or ending(s). Neither are gui improvements or quality of life changes. To me, hair styles, clothing choices, etc. are all fair game for polls; fetish additions, plot directions, etc. are not.
I think you should leave it as it is at the moment 0.4, if you are going to improve do it with women XD there are almost few who are going to complain too much.
If it's your first game, it's best to focus on finishing it smoothly. If you want to vote, do so if you create a new game to select what the characters will look like and do not vote in the middle of the project's history unless there are new characters that you are going to include.
This is how a game called Ecchi Sensei received many votes and in the end it was abandoned
