Don't worry guys I used the <3 reaction to offset the facepalms on main page. In all seriousness, I think I'm mostly hetero but always open to try new things especially if they have good stories. Does this game have alot of choices? I am mostly a kinetic enjoyer as I don't like replaying as much. Also, saw the corruption tag...I'm mostly a vanilla wholesome fucko so how big is corruption and stuff?

:ROFLMAO: yo, don't worry about the facepalms, it says more about them than it does the project so i dont take those people seriously. In terms of choices, i'll be honest and says there's not a ton. this is mostly a linear story with a few choices here and there. There are two routes in the story that split and then return for one single ending. i wanted the characters to drive the story and the ending and not the reader. This is easily a story you could play through one time and be done.

a few notes: the game has gay content but mostly focuses on a serious discussion about sexuality in general. All of the sexual content in the game actually is there to drive the story forward and has a purpose to it. you wont see just random casual hookups in this game and slutty sex scenes for no reason. there is no hetero content and there's only one romance option

the corruption is avoidable and "corruption" is a pretty strong term for the actual content tbh-- they're just particular about their tags around here. This game is pretty vanilla in terms of sexual content or kinks.

In terms of wholesome: lol... bruh, this game is a window into my soul man. this is as wholesome as i get and this thing really does focus on story. it's an emotional rollercoaster without being cliche and it shifts gears several times.

There's 2 versions of the game: the original version is completed but was a very rough draft. it has some annoying mechanics at the beginning that have been removed in the revamp. The original game story is fully complete and it's posted in the OP under spoilers. it looks like shit in the beginning and slowly gets better as i learned how to actually make my first game.

The revamp is my current revision of the original and now has completely redone images and fully licensed sounds and music. This version only has the first 3.5 chapters in comparison to the original having all 10 chapters.

I usually recommend starting with the original as you can watch the story slowly get better but you may be an exception. If you're seriously interested, I may actually suggest you playing the Revamp up through Chapter 3. Chapter 4 is only half finished right now so it will stop in the middle of this version. If you like the story, you could then download the original and from the main menu, you can start a new game and do a chapter select and start with chapter 4 and pick it up in the old version and sail all the way to the end.

I seriously appreciate my hetero guys. it's a super cool and very humbly demographic to win over on this thing. I've actually have gotten a lot of hetero guys following the project over the years so if you're open minded and want an adult story that tackles heavy issues with an existential romantic spin, I really tried hard on this thing and I'd love to have ya along for the ride.

Sold! It really means a lot when devs are so engaging and helpful. I can clearly tell that you put a lot of love and care into this piece of art just by your enthusiasm. I'm looking forward to trying this beauty. Thanks!

heh, well thank you. just go easy with the original version. it starts out rough (which is the whole reason for the revamp) zero fucking idea what was doing and i made the mistake early on of making a game that was fairly cookie cutter like other games at the time. i eventually moved away from that as the chapters progress and did my own thing. this is a very slow burn story. always respect and appreciate my hetero guys tho so if you try it out-- lemme know what you think man

if you decide to do the original from the start, the beginng is loop based for the first 3 chapters. you need to pick different choices to eventually move the story along. if you get stuck, there's a readme with a walkthrough in it but that shit goes away in like chapter 3 and things start to get more linear

A bit curious and trying to understand the audiences here:
Are you strictly Hetero that starve for good VN? Or are you (at least) Homosexual Adjacent / Curious / Flexible?
If it's the former, it's a bit weird to look for one on a porn site - Porn VN are Often much lower quality compare to Normal VN (Nothing against this one, I haven't tried it yet :p), since they need to Focus on Porn as an element and has much less development resources.
Or you have no problem to see gay sex as long as you can skip it, like to see the romance / relationship / interaction build up and everything around? A love story enjoyer no matter the form of love?

If the remake is a totally improved experience upon the original, Is it not a better idea to recommend the remake first, And if the person really want to know the whole story / can't wait / want to see your growth as a developer, then go back to see the original?
Cuz Most people don't read same story twice, and first impression is hard to break. If they already saw the rough original version, most will not interested in what the better game you can make now.
(And you might gain more supports this way)

A love story enjoyer no matter the form of love?
I definitely crave a good story/romance no matter the form of love (currently watching a show about gay pirates called Our Flag Means Death...it's a romantic comedy and very good piece of media).

Porn VN are Often much lower quality compare to Normal VN (Nothing against this one, I haven't tried it yet :p), since they need to Focus on Porn as an element and has much less development resources.
I guess I see your point but some Adult visuals novels (see next paragraph for my definition of avn) do offer just as strong narrative even if they aren't massive. Some of my fav Japanese VNs like Clannad and White Album 2 have evoked the same emotion in me and made me tear up as one or two games AVNs I have played here.
In my head, there's two categories: Porn VNs that are just nonsensical fuckfests with meaningless verbiage that i wholeheartedly avoid and then there's Adult Visual Novels with adult content wrapped around a strong narrative. I think AVNs offer just as much as classic VNs, it's just that it's very rare to come across such pieces, primarily due to resource allocation like you mentioned.

Are you strictly Hetero that starve for good VN? Or are you (at least) Homosexual Adjacent / Curious / Flexible?
Not really sure about my alignment in rl. Only have tried tacos so can't say how I would like chorizo. I'm not disgusted by it or whatever just don't have any strong hate/love towards it. More of emotional sexual I guess? Don't really mind what genitals they got as long as they value me and I them. :) (That's why me like a good strong narrative to get me emotionally invested)

yep, this is a fair point about which one i recommend or market. basically, the revamp is quickly approaching that tipping point. I feel like when i began the remake, it was geared more for those who already had read the story and wanted to desperately jump back into the world after they finished it. As a result, the old version had a completely story with chapters and progress that i worked really hard on.

In contrast, with the revamp, there wasn't enough character development yet to really jump into it. the original focuses heavily on character development and profound character arcs. I liked that and was proud of it and I just haven't gotten there yet with the revamp. I think at the end of chapter 4 after this next update, i'll officially start marketing the revamp more than the original. I just had to get more substance in there first if that makes any sense.

lol. i appreciate your taste. if you end up reading the story, i'd be interested to see your take by the end. your mindset is very much covered in the story

That's the thing, All good VNs (Adults or Not) will be available on normal game platform, especially now Steam / GoG doesn't ban porn unless it's extreme, and you can easily see if they are good cuz they are only be judged on their gameplay / narrative.

On the other hand, Only Porn Focused will be here, and of course porn will be valued more. That's why you feel it's very rare - Abnormality exists, but they are abnormalities. (You can often see people complaining if there's an adult game that doesn't focus on / have porn)

VNs like "Clannad""White Album 2"(One of my fav, "Rumbling Hearts") Are not build around sex, on the contrary, They build up the game first, then shoehorn in porn for the sweet NSFW Version sale. That's why many of them the porn parts are often feel forced or awkward (Or maybe just me since I don't like hetero sex :p).

I myself only here for the porn, if the gameplay / narrative is good, it feels like finding a diamond in the sand - Great but never expected. Even when I sometimes play Hetero focused ones, that's cuz the males are hot and emphasised.
That's why I asked, if you are looking for Good VN / Media, instead of porn, how do you even navigate thru? It's very easy to tell if the porn is for you, from the images / tags / reviews. But not "how good the game is".

Like this game, how did you even thought about asking? Is it cuz of the name "Straight!?" Cuz the OP almost says nothing, and the screenshots don't have anything stands out. In fact, I didn't know even I watched the thread for a while, until the dev mentioned.

How I find my games?
  1. I usually sort games by high rating (that's how I found this game)
  2. Then, I read OP and most of the time I can tell if it's gonna be THE shit or just regular shit. If I like OP, then next is main step. (OP includes pictures, overview, tags, dev etc.) Heck, even if I don't like OP, I'll still go thru step 3 to make sure.
  3. Main thing I do is sift thru the reviews. I read a couple positive ones then I primarily focus on negative ones cuz i think people overrated mostly. So I look at why they didn't like the game? Was it renders? Story? Or just people complaining about lack of porn. Also, there's a handful of reviewers that I always encounter who are very blunt and give very honest opinions which makes it hell of a lot easier to see if it's a good game for me.
  4. Finally, if I like all of this, then I play. If I'm not sure, I try to comment on the thread by giving them my tastes and asking them if it's for me or not.
I won't say I am not here for the porn b/c then I would just be sticking with the mainstream VNs. I do like porn but stories trump the adult element for me. There's bunch of recommendations posts like this that have some good games (I don't agree with all of em), and I also visit itch/reddit and discord channels of different devs and interact with bunch of people to finalize what I want to play.

Edit: typos

As for me, I usually pick my visual novels based on character design and premise later. But truth to be told, if I don't find either one appealing, then I won't go for it. Even if the characters are attractive. I may reconsider if the story is interesting, though

I don't necessarily rely on reviews because usually it's up to everyone's preferences anyhow. Much like films, I may like a visual novel that not many people enjoy. Though so far, I guess I haven't really found that kind of visual novel. But there is one or two that I initially liked because of its interesting premise only to get turned off by it for some reasons the further I play, but most people I see don't seem to mind them

And even if the characters are attractive, I like it if the plot doesn't prioritize smut entirely. Always have been more of a story-type of guy, to some extent. I also don't usually go for demos, but if the premise is appealing, then I would give it a go to get first look. But generally aside from that, I would try anything once at least, as long as they're still within my genres (romcom, adventure, mystery, horror, fantasy). Some exceptions may apply, like Str8!? :D

that's a pretty lengthy list there, while my game isn't included there, i think it would definitely fall under the description of the list. when i started this project, there were few-- if any-- gay-themed games on this site so this project doesn't usually make lists like that. i believe the overwhelming majority of people here usually gravitate towards hetero content so this project was never overly popular here. but, I am pleased to say that it's held its own and even won over many hetero readers that were willing to give it a try and i'm grateful for that.

if you want a longer list of reviews, you can check out the post on , i get more traffic from that site than most and people have left good, fair reviews as well as a looooong list of comments that i try my best to keep up with.

OP is updated to Revamp v0.09.3. This ends Chapter 4 and Part One of the story.

Also, if you're not following me on other outlets, the official merch store is now open and can be found . There's 5 different designs to choose from. However, don't go crazy buying anything until the 22nd, RedBubble sent me a message saying stuff will be on sale between the 22nd and the 28 so wait and save your cash until then :)

Hope you enjoy the new update

Always love seeing you post an update. If I had the cash I'd be supporting you as much as I could, but in lieu of that I hope you'll accept my thanks for all the hard work you put into this game. It's crazy how emotionally attached I got to these characters, haha.

is there bonking in this VN or am I just gonna relive my teen years and how I never had fun?
there's sexual content but it's used to move the story forward and develop characters. i've mostly avoided shallow sexual content because i think it's boring and can literally be found anywhere else. there are goofy or cringey moments that have content but even those end up having a point to them. i wanted a story with more depth
