"Been shit since day 1" "I've played it since v1.x" LOL I started playing it when it was on 0.5, Marune not only kept ....

That's what I've been telling people for a long while now.

It was clear at one point the actual developer of the game stopped.

Before that point, they updated the Blog, they updated the Patreon, they updated the game on a regular schedule with decent content between each version.

THEN a long drought, a crapton of bugs and no progress what so ever.

Not only in new content, but also in bugs that never go away.

It's obvious the person or people that run it now took on developing a Flash game and don't have the first clue how to develop in Flash.

They would have been far better moving it to another engine and language, but considering they didn't even do that, I'm fairly certain that whomever does the coding now isn't even any good at doing that.

This game will never go anywhere, especially not anywhere waranting the amount of money it makes, with the current person or people heading its development.

.... The game wasn't a cash grab at the start, they communicated a lot in their patreon (they even had a specific person for that), they were on schedule, they had decent amount of content, so they grew, then someone took over and fucked everything. The only game I ever became patreon of, while at the same time the reason why I don't become patreon of any game that isn't completed anymore.
It's probably unfair to abandon patreon based on this game to be honest, there were always red flags with the lack of communication, transparency, and a track record of 'The Simbro Team', even when Marune was the known face of the team (was there ever anyone else until Marune left?).

It's possible to work with the system and support good creators but I think people just need to be more critical in evaluating who they give money to, no matter how much they like the initial game.

Take for example making Summertime Saga, a guy in his thirties (with industry experience he claims with credibility considering the quality of his work), who has kids, and who streams almost every day is a good candidate based on the fact he simply sounds stable. You know he can manage a project and he's not a teenager who's going to go off the rails when he gets big money.

Or which is almost an indy game studio. They are very transparent, you can see the team in a video, you can play a demo and see the quality, you know they are a real team of several people with skills and experience. Funding a team like this will likely mean higher quality because they will hire people with specialist skills and increase the likellihood of a finished game being delivered.

There are other creators who are making high quality content and getting very little money. Meanwhile, some supporters throw money at wasters like whoever controls Simbro these days, or other idiots who they know nothing about, with no history of delivered projects, with no apparent skills - creators who are churning out a few basic low-quality CG images a month for a poorly written VN.

Obviously I'm just venting a bit here at this point so I'll stop, basically I'd like to give most Patreon supporters a slap in the face and this is not the forum to do it.

June 2017 was the last build by Marune I'm quite sure, it was the last time the blog and LOK forums were updated, that was when the bullshit started from whoever runs this now.

I think it would be almost impossible to move to anything else to be honest, remember all the character art, voice sounds and basic animation models come from Corta's work which is all flash. I doubt it would make much difference either as you implied, if they can't learn to code in flash then they can't code in anything.

Yeah don't doubt there is good creators on patreon, just never found one that fit that while also creating I game I enjoyed, not saying their games are bad, simply not my taste for whatever reason.

"There are other creators who are making high quality content and getting very little money." don't doubt that at all, they are hard to find tho.

Also at the very start, yes it was only Marune. Then Ixfa started helping him, he talked about her in LoK on how she helped him with translations and I remember seeing her answering alot of patreons questions in comments, then she disappeared and shortly after Marune said he was losing passion of the game. Don't take me wrong, not saying Marune was the perfect creator or he has no fault on the current situation of Simbro (unless something bad happend with the guy that he had no control over) but still pretty sure Simbro would be in a much better place right now if he was still in charge. Pointless tho, the game is dead now, only hope is that someone grabs the game and goes forward.

Is it dead?
1. Love the name.
2. Possibly, the people that took over after Marune left are spastics when it comes to game design. They take massive breaks and come back only to get loads of money, they don't actually care about the game. The likelihood of seeing a new update before the year is over is pretty low.

I can't seem to find the cellphone tracker for alices scene.
First time i tried doing that scene was with cheat codes so i though it might have been the cheats that were fucking it up.
But then i tried going normally and i still can't find it in my inventory.
Is there something else that needs to get done before or after you get to the bar?
Or is this game just super buggy which actually might be it since the devs and money-hungry assholes who are probably going to return in like a year and a half to do some more updates and then go on a hiatus.

Yes.
In one of their recent updates when they were adding more underwear or something else nobody wanted, they broke a few quests for the story line. The original dev has been MIA for years now, the team that has it now has made a few half-hearted attempts to continue but it did not go well and they got a huge ration of shit in Patreon comments. My personal belief is that Marune, the original developer, was forced out by a local mob boss when it became a real moneymaker, and since then they have been doing the bare minimum with untalented people to keep the revenue stream active. The slavic mafia is no joke. If your business of any type starts to do well, they want a piece of it.

A sad ending to such an entertaining flash game. I don't see this game recovering from all the shit its been through, unless the OG dev miraculously comes back which seems highly unlikely.

I wish they would atleast fix all the problems, then it would be atleast ok if they abandoned the game, even if it had much potential...

i told people this game was dead, but nooooo
The reason it has been marked abandoned is probably so people stop bitching and moaning about the game being dead or spam comments asking when the update is coming. It took so long to do this because whoever took over the game has a history of taking big breaks.
