Hello Namako. I was wondering what programs you used to make your game? Because I want to try to create my own game, maybe even similar to yours, but I don't know what programs to use to do it (Not to say that I don't know how to make games, but I want to try)
This is just a Beta Demo or tester. So far hell I saw all comment is pretty desire for more. If so pls consider support Namako on His/Her Patreon. This will speed up the development progress. The developer is volunteer to upload game for free here. The developer can read all of your negative comment as well.

If you use the shop upgrades you should be good, at the bottom of level selection there is a tradeswoman who lets you spend gems to upgrade units. You can also use the 25 cost explosive against the first enemy while you build your economy.

Shes the tradeswomen. i thinks she shows up in act 2.
you should see her name right under the stage select

Oh ok, thanks. I was stuck on stage 1-8, kinda sucks that you need to pass act 1 to unlock her
