Honestly, i don't get it either this seems to be a "trend" with most of the "lesbian" route VN's nowadays. "Of course we have a lesbian route in this game :HideThePain: " but even if you lock into that said route you still have the MC talking about the fact that she would enjoy some dick or gush over some dude ... it doesn't make sense especially if you call your game LESBIAN academy, wtf.

If you want a real lesbian MC game which is early in development but still stays true to that, i would suggest Actual roomates
Sadly it seems most devs just see lesbians as a fetish/porn category. There seem to be very few games where the mc is actually a lesbian.

The fact is that games with a lesbian/bisexual protagonist are also targeted for heterosexual and bisexual men, and these men tend to prefer to see lesbian action within a sub-context of bisexuality. The fact that there is a heterogeneity of reasons for this preference ogni signify the relevance of this segment. Someone just prefer to let open the bisexual option, other just think the concept of "lesbian temptation" is hot.

I understand that this fact may sound almost offensive to a lesbian woman. Yes, it's a specific male fantasy. Curiously, it is not paralleled in other genres, which makes it particularly "dirty". For example, in Yaoi media, male protagonists rarely mention a possibility for their bisexuality. But among kinks, dirtiness is a virtue and not a flaw.

Nevertheless, what can be done? These men are a consistent demographic around games with a lesbian/bisexual protagonist, and things are not going to change. Personally I think that Lesbian Academy deals with it in a very reasonable way.

Well in my case as a lesbian for me this "dirtiness" is a complete flaw.

you are right in practically everything you say, but unfortunately for me that means that there are only a few things that I can enjoy without making me want to puke.

as for the games the only solution is that more and more lesbians start making games, unfortunately this is something that will never happen, unfortunately the lesbian community is very reluctant to make this type of content because they believe that it is a very male dominated media, thus forming a vicious circle.

it's one of those moments where I would like to say, "fine I'm going to do it myself", but I have the creativity of a rock.

anyway, a little rant, the only thing i can do is to check very well what kind of game to play, and when i can't find anything, read books or fanfics, which is the media where it's easier to find truly lesbian stories.

edit: Also, the anger here with that game is that personally, you don't usually see that kind of thing in a game where there are only other women LI, that only happens in the typical games with men LI as well.

Yeah, it sucks. Bisexuality is too often used as a way to endear a sapphic narrative to a straight male audience. It's a way for them to have their cake and eat too, enjoy the taboo or novel nature of the act while still maintaining the illusion that they could be a part of it. I hate whenever I watch or play something, and there is this wink from the writer that is as if there to say, "Don't you worry, bro, these girls will still suck your cock." Once you get into a lesbian relationship, you realize this extends far beyond just the internet. Men leer at you, follow you, get way too close; gay clubs are really the only public places I can feel fully comfortable holding my girlfriend's hand. For so many people, we, lesbians, are just a porn category. For them, we are all bisexual.

With all that being said, bisexuality is real and valid, and I know many irl people whose sexuality is very similar to how you describe the mc. Ultimately, it's all about how you handle the topic, but I didn't play the game, and I don't plan to, so I can't really speak on that.

If you ever do get an idea and need a writer, I'm in.

Shit, this is so real, I've seen over and over "lesbians" characters who at some point turn out to be bi because at that point it would be hot that the character also likes men at least a little(often hinting at a threesome).

And I assume you live in the US, right? I didn't know that things were so oppressive, I'm Brazilian and I've always been very open about my sexuality, there were rare cases where someone bothered me because of my sexuality, maybe it's because I'm not much of a person who goes to closed places with a lot of people, but I've never been uncomfortable in shoppings and restaurants, which are the places I frequent most, even though I'm with my girlfriend. People here tend to be more aggressive against gays, exactly from what you said, for the majority we are bisexual and we either stay with men even though we have a girlfriend or we are used as a fantasy for men who want to have sex with two women.

it's one of those moments where I would like to say, "fine I'm going to do it myself", but I have the creativity of a rock.
I even have some stories written but I know absolutely nothing about creating games, now i'm trying to manage my time to learn and get into this area to try to strengthen our category that has so few games.

As the cuckoo in the head Lesbian, I can say it is shitty when the MC somehow prefers Dick when I literally pick the worse option when the game forces me to interact with male LI. Sure, MC can be bisexual, but at least add a trigger to your game that notices that my MC literally always picks the worst option when male in sight or makes the MC slowly change based on the love interest they choose, because, as a writer, I can say that people keep forgetting that your relationship will change you, whether it is for the better or the worse. So MC liking Dick is not my "Ok, I will stop moment." If the game has good writing and the MC's way of thinking changes the longer they date the female lead, I will still play it. At least it is not a "Surprise Rape" or "Surprise Straight Sex" on your face moment, and players are not given a choice to avoid the scene. Like fucking hell, if someone tries to rape me, I would bite their dick off first to death as first choice and if i can't i will simply kill myself.

On one hand, the quote on quote "Lesbian" game is, as you said, part of male fantasy. But I will say that even if the writer is a lesbian, that doesn't mean it will be a good "Lesbian" game. Why do you ask? Simple. FUCKING POLITICS RUIN EVERYTHING!!! SOMEHOW, A LOT OF GAY PEOPLE THINK IT IS A GOOD IDEA TO SLAP POLITIC INTO A LESBIAN GAME!?!?!?

I will tell you something that will be surprising for people with this kind of thinking. The ones that will play or buy your gay ass game will also be gay ass people or people that support being gay.
YOUR MESSAGE DID NOT REACH THE PEOPLE THAT NEED TO CHANGE THEIR MIND ABOUT THE STATE OF THING!. BECAUSE STRAIGHT PEOPLE PLAY STRAIGHT GAMES!?!?!? GOD WHAT A PLOT TWIST ISN'T IT?!?!?!? Who would have thought that Gay/Lesbian game is played by Gay/Lesbian People or People that support Gay Relationship!?!?

Of course, there are still some straight people who just want to jack off to it, but they only see it as a jack-off and nothing else. The chance of a game reaching closet gay or lesbian people who will join in on your political movement is extremely rare.

I DON'T WANT TO BE REMINDED ABOUT FUCKING POLITIC IN MY FUCKING GAY ASS GAME!!! YEAH SURE JUST REMIND SOMEONE IN A COUNTRY WHERE BEING GAY IS PURE HERESY OF HIGHEST ORDER!
Surprisingly I'm not joking in this, some country really treat gay (and trans) people as a Heretic that sold their soul to the Devil.

Like sure if the Devil can really give me a Lesbian Succubus I would sold my soul in the moment but nope, we are in real life where the the Devil are pussy ass coward that never give cool deal to people.

Personally I don't trust a game that label themselves "Lesbian" Game. I only trust a game that label themself as "Yuri" Game. Why? Because people that stample their game as "Yuri" game prefers the Japanese Way to handle Lesbian, It is a cruel yet bittersweet or just plain cute sweet, and they never bring politics or rant like a lunatic on why "Woman shouldn't be treated this way", I FUCKING GET IT, IT SUCKS BUT I PLAY THIS SHIT TO RELAX NOT GET DRAGGED TO POLITICS AGAIN! EVEN IF THAT POLITICS BENEFIT ME OR SOME SHIT.

I don't care if you are a real lesbian or some dude with a lesbian fetish or a translesbian JUST DON'T FUCKING REMIND ME OF POLITICS.

I play Yuri Game as Escapism. I lived in a shitty country with a shitty religion and shitty people, so I want to escape that.

And if you are asking me why I'm still in this shitty country...

I'm actually writing a game too, just because I know I can do much better than most of what we have. A bit stuck on the render side, but I do know it's secondary, or at least can be carried by narrative.

Regarding fetishisation of lesbians, nothing can be done on that front. People find girls hot, people find something unobtainable hot, people find everything hot actually. But I don't think something as shallow as fetish applies to yuri in general. Good yuri is not always porn and it's never about porn. Relationships, character development, story building - that's where the focus at. NSFW status only adds more depth and freedom to it.

It is a fact that most of h-games audience are men, so a lot of the lesbian content is catered to them. But it could change if more devs would ignore the noise and just tell a lesbian woman's story, or even better - a story with a lesbian protagonist.

the only thing i can do is to check very well what kind of game to play, and when i can't find anything, read books or fanfics, which is the media where it's easier to find truly lesbian stories.
Indeed, most female authors stick to novels and manga. I've been reading yuri manhwas lately, and while the plot is usually silly Korean drama, it has a touch only a handful of games were able to convey. Also pink hair rich girls are always antagonists for some reason.

just tell a lesbian woman's story, or even better - a story with a lesbian protagonist.
This is incredibly easy to do btw.
Step 1: write a character
Step 2: write a story
Step 3: make said character female and lesbian
In the end the things that make a good story are universal and independent of gender and sexual orientation. The specifics may change, but the broad strokes are still the same.

but I do know it's secondary, or at least can be carried by narrative.
Spot on with that one btw. My renders suck but people seem to be very forgiving if you can give them a story that they like, way more forgiving than I expected.

Step 1: write a character
Step 2: write a story
These are the steps porn writers tend to fail. It's fine if they're relying entirely on the visual quality of their sex scenes (or game mechanics if there are any). But, around here, we're mostly talking about VNs made by hobbyists and small indies. Usually, they can't compete with higher budgets and the expertise that brings. So the writing is what would make up for the lack of high visual quality.

Nah for real ... Stop talking yourself down the whole time, your renders are far off the "typical standard nonsense low raze DAZN models".
And beside that your storytelling is actually quite good, you created different personalities and a great comic relief imo (Sir Francis ).

And don't think people just sub and follow your game because it's lesbian based ( sure some might try it out because of that - but they stay for the chars and humour).

So nah creating a lesbian focused game is not as easy as it seems ...

No, not an American, but like in America, it changes from city to city, hell, even from street to street; one moment, you are in the cool metal cafe; one wrong turn and you are in drug dealer city, or worse, the conservative part of town. But yeah, here, as well, gay men usually get the more violent end of the stick.

I hear you. With these algorithmically enforced echo chambers we have on every single app, it seems like everybody is just preaching to the choir nowadays. I will say that I don't think lgbtq matters should have anything to do with politics... Americans lost sight of that, and now it's all their politics is about. Remember when it used to be about taxes?

BenHatira is right. You are selling yourself short. When it comes to renders, I don't know the grades of quality, but I can tell you that every frame feels animated and filled with personality. The character designs and outfits are wonderful as well, perhaps the best I've seen from a 3d game on this site.

As for your writing, you avoid a lot of the trappings so many beginners fall for. Your characters are distinct and have unique, easily distinguishable voices. You don't stretch out scenes too long or cut them too short. Your scene transitions are quick and snappy, and you don't assume the reader has the reading comprehension of a toddler. I usually find myself rewriting games in my head as I play them or loudly complaining about the poor readability and dialog structuring to my girlfriend, but with this game, I barely found myself doing that.

tl;dr, you should be proud of what you made; it took real creativity and skill.

We probably could have had some fun with that.
oh you definitely could have. It didn't help that when I saw it, it was march 31 in my part of the world. I just assumed patreon thought that they were not getting a good enough deal so they sued( or threatened I guess) on behalf of the people from their site. In doing so they managed to either come to a deal of just relinquish the property to them so they don't bleed the site in court or something like that.

If you can't tell business isn't my area of expertise and I tend to have a more pessimistic view about it.

personally, at the beginning i also fell for it, i'm from latin america and here we don't celebrate april fools, the closest thing is the "dia de los santos inocentes" (day of the holy innocents) that we celebrate on december 28.

but then i read that on patreon they were very excited to have the "ntr discussions" on their platform so i remembered the existence of april fools.

it was quite well done actually, I can only imagine what a patreon f95 would have been like with besides saying goodbye to piracy, we would have games full of censorship (landladys supremacy) and games full of exclusive content for patreons.
