VN - Ren'Py - Completed - Lancaster Boarding House [Final] [Daniels K]

Game with completely shitty dialogues and unitresting characters without personality. Whole story is really bad (and this minor plot about mystery also sucks). I hate the fact that you have to take first girl as youf GF so picking any other girl will be a cheating on her. Sex scenes was good but there was some loops that you can't skip.
But all girls at least looks awesome - really good models (no ugly girls). Also i like the endings - every girl have her own ending.

The attractive women don't make up for this terribly written game. I don't get why this is so highly regarded. The writing is poor, the story is boring, and the sex scenes are brief in all the wrong ways and feel like they're written by someone who has had little to no sexual experience and writes like a pre teen would explain their first sexual encounter. Another Daniels K. game that I put off playing.. and after playing it I can't believe I ever doubted I would love it.

I generally appreciate and gravitate towards more of the less realistically socially common taboos for my visual novels and games (like incest etc). So the fact that this game had none of that just put me off of trying it.. I mean it doesn't even have the NTR tag.. a tag that I previously avoided like the plague because nobody wants to see that right?? that is..until played Daniels K's MGA and that game turned out great and even changed my tune on most NTR.. well long story short(er) This game, was fantastic as well.

There were a few points of plot or character development that I would have loved to see more expansion on.. I know you can only make a game/novel soo big before you just have to move on but, more on the ritual would have been nice, more backstory on some of the girls and why they are the way they are would have been nice, and I will accept that it would have been nice to have a couple other combo/harem type endings.. but the reality is.. I want all those things because I couldn't get enough of the game, and that's a good thing. It is a great story, and I felt connected to most of the characters and I hope to heck he someday makes a real sequel. I could go on longer but I suspect most have stopped reading already.

TL;DR I stayed up till 3:30 in the morning finishing this game the other night and got a bit less than 4 hours of sleep before a conference call in the morning where I was the primary speaker... I was exhausted and burned two Rockstar Recoveries on that call just to stay alert and have zero regrets.

The writting is not great, sometime changing subject or scenes without any transitions.
The faithful/nice route isn't gratifying because the protagonist is a jerk and the girlfriend hasn't enough content.
The game offer some interesting choices and the player can decide how to behave with each character, exept for the girlfriend that you are forced to date until late in the game.
The sex scene have almost no written dialogue and descriptions and are mostly repetitive slideshows.

Overall, it was a solid game. Great renders and all around beautiful models. Interesting story plot and some solid sex scenes.

The one star is off is that I felt the ending was pretty abrupt for a 6GB game and some of the sex scenes had pauses that were a bit tiresome. The overview talks about secrets but the only one that really stands out is the one with Jason and Eve. Would've liked to see a lot more development in at least that aspect

Played through most of the different endings. It's pretty shallow in its character development and reasons for liking the main character. It's got pretty renders, nice (though few) animations and original characters and setting. However, the long hard-coded pauses during the sex-scenes really break the flow of the game, making the sex scenes too frustrating to be enjoyable for me.

Special mention to the soundtrack. It's one of the best of any adult game; all enjoyable and scene appropriate.

Note: Some comments below criticize the story for having girls interested in the MC too fast. I disagree. This game just does not have any useless padding. (That this game does not gate content with tropes like having to have peeked 3 times, gave a couple of lewd massages/apply sunscreen and getting his dick "accidentally" seen etc. before a girl gets interested is a good thing).

my first review.. incredible renders, wonderful girls, interesting story and choices, a bit weird though , would've liked more possibilities with some secondary characters and to be able to completely avoid some others.

This game is definitely worth a play. One can find beautiful girls, great renders (especially with a mod). A story is not that great, but it is still decent, and interesting. The good thing is that you can have multiple happy endings with different girls.

So far one of the best games I played from this site. Really got caught up in the story which was amazing. Hope the creator will make more games like this one. Only thing I did find annoying was that I couldn't skip the sex scenes but then again I like the story more than that part of the games

This was my second ever play through of ANY visual novel. I have to say I'm incredibly impressed but also a little disappointed.

For starters all of the models A+! The story is not too bad either I gotta say there were some nice twists and turns throughout that kept me coming back for more. What I would do to make this game waaayyy better... Add more animations! There is NOTHING that makes games like this better than some good animations! I personally wouldn't mind seeing some idle animations as well during dialog, something simple as making the character your speaking to blink. Overall it is a great VN (and that's coming from a guy that never really enjoyed VNs).

This was very enjoyable, yes the plot isn't any more sophisticated than every girl you meet is both rich, beautiful and is immediately in love with you but then again it is a porn game. Despite this the girls have a decent amount of personality, I found myself being fond of quite a few of them (enough to play through all the endings). In fact I even liked the main girl enough that my first play-through was completely monogamous which is a complete first for me.

The visuals are of a high quality and there is an occasional very decent animation however the one big thing holding this game back is that in every mature scene it forces you to watch two images in loops of AT LEAST 20 seconds. I couldn't find a way to skip this on my first watch of every scene. These two picture 'animations' absolutely should be ended as soon as a player clicks again. It was a real detriment to my playing experience and I would advise the dev to refrain from making a similar choice in future games.

The story is quiet good with choices that matter.
There's a variety of girls that look great.
Multiple endings depending on your previous choices encourage you to play again.

It would be nice if there was a gallery mode, and maybe some better visuals in scenes. There are a lot of static images and some looped animations which are pretty nice. The overall writing is alright, but not the best because the story doesn't really make sense. It is an alright game to just go through, but there is no depth behind it.

The visuals are great, but the writing is awful.

There isn't really much of a main plot to the game, it's all pretty much centred on whether or not you will cheat on Chloe with any of the ridiculously gorgeous girls that inexplicably throw themselves at you. There is small sub-plot about a mysterious cult, but that ultimately goes nowhere and seems to exist for sole purpose of angering fans of Rose by ruining her character.

Most of the sex scenes fade back and forth between two static images. There are a handful of actual animations in the game, but they are few and far between.

The game does have multiple endings, but some of the endings are unsatisfying, and half of them are gated behind an unintuitive point system that is hidden from the player. The game doesn't build up to a dramatic finish, it just sort of fizzles out.

What the hell is so great about this game? I just don't get it. The writing is absolutely atrocious. For example, the beginning doesn't make any sense. How does Chloe suddenly fall for such a lame ass protagonist immediately and want to get naked for him? The official Patreon page states that this game "faces you with different choices that steer the direction of the game." So why couldn't I not choose her as my girlfriend? You have to cheat on her to get with the other girls, and you keep her around and fuck her while you do so. Also, wtf was up with the ritual nonsense and why does the mystery never get resolved? Why do I have to be friends with Jason and why do I have to keep his secrets? The only choices here are picking dialogue options that raise your niceness, manliness, and/or jerkness, and they only affect some of the sex scenes you can get and girl endings you can get. The rest of the game is completely linear. And wtf is with everyone saying "hahaha" over and over again every few seconds? The dialogue in this game is straight up cringeworthy.

The worst thing about the writing, though, is the characters. I will preface this by saying that I liked Chloe. She's nice, smart, and a good girlfriend, and I didn't even think about cheating on her on my initial playthrough. Personally, I value loyalty and faithfulness a lot in real life, so I'm not a fan of my character doing the cheating, but aside from that, Chloe's easily the best girl, and her route and ending are pretty romantic. I went back and fastforwarded through seen text to play through the other characters' routes and endings to see if you get to know them more if you pursue them. You don't. They're all just straight up nymphomaniac-types who throw themselves at you as soon as you show some interest in them. The patreon page states that they're "unique characters with different personalities and more." Lol. Rose in particular is the most egregious because she's supposed to be nerdy and the smartest girl in the class, yet she does something so obviously stupid and doesn't listen to you when you try to tell her it's stupid. And there's no way to stop her. You also can't start pursuing her before this event, even if you do a threesome with her and Chloe, so if you do want her, you get her as sloppy seconds. If you then change your mind later on, she says you have no right to take the higher ground because you cheated on Chloe to try to pursue her. For fucks sake. Her whole route is just so frustrating. I did kind of like Abigail's route because she's a commanding asshole, so she's different from the rest of the characters. But overall, there's nothing special or interesting about any of these characters. No backstories, no development, no nothing. "Some might be more than they seem" my ass.

The only reason I'm not giving this a one star rating is because the renders and the music are good. Most of the sex scenes are just two frames of animation that are passable, but there are some scenes that are smoothly animated. There's one in particular that has facial movements for the girl, which is awesome. I'd love it if more games had that level of detail. But there's no gallery in the game to rewatch any of the scenes, which is another thing that sucks.

Overall, this game was very disappointing, and even annoying at times. At least Chloe's route was good so this game wasn't a complete waste of time, hahaha!

Honestly, this one just didn't really do it for me. I guess I'm more in the minority that cares about writing just as much (if not more than) the sex scenes. But I found the story here to be quite frankly awful at times. The amount of out of place "hahaha!"'s that were included in this game are to me too many to count. It's definitely not a "bad" game at all and the renders are still great, it just didn't really hit for me.

I really did not like how the 1st girl (even tho she is the best girl in this EGame you meet is forced to be your GF and you have to cheat on her if you want to romance other girls and this is the core problem with the whole story so it just messes up the whole thing (for me at least) but the endings to some of the girls (if you ignore that Chloe is your GF in the 1st place lol) were done well yet some felt rushed and short. Also some events and the ritual were kinda left unexplored and weird. This EGame had more potential that is for sure...
