VN - Ren'Py - Completed - Lancaster Boarding House [Final] [Daniels K]

This is my personal opinion on version 1.3.
Of course, renders are great, but...
Is this really the same person that I know from two good rpg maker games: Zoe's Temptations and My Girlfriend's Amnesia??? OMG this is much worst than his other games.

Sure, idea behind it is acceptable, but dialogues are really somethin to work for. I feel more like watching a cheap soap opera rather than good tv show.
Maybe this style of writing was good in rpgm with female protagonist, but I expecting something more from Ren'Py.

MC's annoying comments make me think he's dumb ass
So, personally, I prefer to play Zoe's Temptations or My Girlfriend's Amnesia than this.

I love the Charakter Chloe, Eve, Rose, Anna and Abigail. Although it is strange that the women immediately drop the panties for this guy.
But the models looks beutiful and not exaggerated by the proportions..
I hope of many Updates.

Top notch Graphics ... and excellent character creation and development. Please do check out the CG and evaluate yourself , it should not disappoint.

Characters wise , I am really impressed with the developer spending time to create each different character.. No I don't mean their boobs and booty =D , though those are essentially important too.
Each main female character got their own distinct personality and not just character models for senseless sex.

Chloe - The almost perfect girlfriend that everyone wants with that light touch of undecided flaw that actually makes her 100% even more likable.

Rose - The beautiful nerd who think she is too nerdy and torn by loyalty to fall for MC

Anna - My personal fav ... she is so enigmatic..she can be a total nobody to a sea nymph fathered by poseidon himself. Just can't put a finger to her mysteriousness.

Eve - Retro confident trucker lady who knows what she wants and how to get it. Seem to be very dominant.

Abigail - U think she is just a stuck up bitch , but 1.3 actually show she might be actually be a brittle person acting bitch to mask her weakness. Now I really interested in her story and have to play her route too.

If you didn't select Abigail route , maybe you forever think she is just a bitch.
This is the success of creator to make ppl replay his game again to see what you miss and not just one playthrough or asking for save game to see CGs.
And connecting with the game characters' personality makes them more "real" and the game much more intense.

Story wise ... well frankly I don't see any main story yet (-1 star)
There are lot of mysteries here and there , occult , strange characters... dilapidated haunted room?... but nothing concrete...
It almost seem like the developer is dancing around the fire , not sure which finger to stick into the flame.
Dun get your hopes to high , like MGA , the build up mystery might be intense , but the finale could just fizzle. But all too early to say , since there practically no theme atm.

Pros: I think the characters and animation are top notch for this type of game. The sound is also a positive in my mind, since the music chosen at certain points do in fact reflect what's going on. The setting itself is unbelievable, but not all that distracting.

Cons: I really dislike games that force the protagonist into loving or dating a certain heroine right from the start without a backstory. The entire, "we just met, but I love you!" bit is utterly ridiculous. That happens in this game and it's unbelievable to the Nth degree, so it's a huge minus for me, unless later on we find out Chloe has some deep seeded abandonment issues and is desperate for anyone. I also ended up disliking the protagonist and at certain points really wished there were fail choices to watch him lose. He's that annoying to me.

All in all, I'll keep an eye on this game, but may wait for a bit more content to see if anything has been done to resolve the issues I have with the game.

def a new fav of mine gets right to the point without all the fiddlefucking around like mr dots games do and doesn't lock you out of choices to the point where you can actually play for an hour or so and not have to constantly save and/or completely start over because you made a 'wrong' choice way back when and now the game's fucked. parental love and my sweet neighbors and to a certain extent freeloading family are my favs and this one is right up there with em. just wish it was a little bit longer but at least there's replay value so as to get with all the girls except the smokin hot nerd rose which i'm sure will happen in the next release. highly recommend along with the others i listed.

This is one of these countless games created by someone who has limited sexual experience at best: A fantasy with no real story or conflict, it's just a concatenation of sexual events without much choice other than "yes" or "no" (=skipping)
The dialogue is cringy and your typical let-me-show-you-how-manly-I-am with no real substance: And not in an ironic way, you clearly get the feeling that the author tries to say something, he just doesn't know what!
The lack of description during sex (e.g. describing how it feels) seems to me like he just doesn't really know what to talk about, same when the characters talk about alcohol: almost destroyed my glasses because I was facepalming so hard when the character said "I like Bourbon because it's such a manly drink" and was talking about the quality of Bourbon like an old bartender though they're clearly poor students.
There's no subtlety or excitement in this story, just a pubertal fantasy. I still have no idea why Chloe decided to become my girlfriend and lose her virginity to me, I guess because I helped her carry her baggage (cringy it's-heavy-but-I-have-to-pretend-to-be-strong monologue included)?
The insecurities are mostly shown in the interaction with the girls: When reading that the girls had different personalities I thought that maybe some liked men that are more dominant while others like those with more "softer" values. Problem is that on the character doesn't have a personality other than pretending to be manly! This also leads to the relationships never going anywhere, the MC is stuck in the "I'm so manly, but I don't really know how to be dominant towards submissive women yet am also afraid to show vulnerability towards dominant women".

2 Stars instead of 1 because the 3dcgs are definitely well-done. My recommendation for the author would be though to either get a dedicated writer or work in a team where he does the artwork.

Edit: I'm a bit flabbergasted seeing how this is the guy that made "My girlfriend's Amnesia", but now I know about it I can see the similarities: Like MGA this game suffers from the same problem of stringing together sexual encounters without proper explanation like the later versions of MGA with their let-me-suck-your-dick-because-you-fixed-my-car girls.
The lack of character probably shows more in this game because in order for the characters to be believable he'd have to develop a relationship with the girls to begin with while in MGA the relationship with the sis and girlfriend were already established.

Its hard to describe how I feel about this game from one perspective we have a guy in new relationship with a girl of his dreams. She loves him and he is in love with her.. yet jumps on any pussy that comes along.. it seems fishy that almost or all girls are so dick hungry in this game. Erotic, I know but some cult or other group is involved too..

Chloe, our naive? new girlfriend, super cute, sweet and lovable girl.

Many others awaits for your attention in this game.

Mc's dick.. is damn short, add at least 2 or 1 cm to it and all those comments about how big it is will be more belivable. It sounds comical when a dick is named BIG but its clearly not.

Amazing graphics, good storyline. Really liked the characters. Can't wait for the next update, as of 1.1 right now. Cliff hanger. Daniels K. amazing job once again. Thanks for sharing! Went back and forth with the saves and experienced the most, if not all, scenarios... Took me about 2 hours to complete. Thanks again!

Man I fucking love this game okay.

The characters A fucking Plus. They feel like real people, the prologue hooked me in essentially right from the start. The next few hours of the game just kept me so entranced that I could not stop.

The renders are near the best I have seen in one of these games too, they're not MILFYcity but damn man, they are tip-top.

Daniels K really knows how to keep an audience entertain, and while this is not inherently a mystery game, there are definitely aspects of mystery to keep you wondering.

9/10 easily.

- Some sex positions don't go with the dialogue, this might be because animations aren't working correctly for me.

Graphics/Scenes:
The graphics are really nice so far. Very well done. The scenes are nice to ... some seem a bit rushed but it is a very early demo so I won't count that. Would already like to see more.

Story:
Well ... here is where I have to take a few points away, but really just a few. It is a funny and promising setup and I like that you have a romance option right at the start. Makes me eager to know how it will develop.
BUT ... at the same time the setup is a bit ridiculous ... I mean come on ... summer school with only one class for 2 hours a day? Feel free to correct me if something like that or close to it actually exists but right now it is a bit .... you know^^ I enjoyed it so far never the less!

The long and short of it:
I like it a lot and am eagerly awaiting the next update to see whether or not it holds up to the promising start.

The following review is based off my personal experience with playing this Game/Visual Novel... I try to be as brutally honest and detailed as I can, and these are my own opinions and thoughts, from one or more play throughs... The version this review is based on is Demo...

I'm not sure what country this visual novel/game takes place in, but most western style boarding schools are for pre-adults and children, not for adults over the age of 18... So in that vain I feel a bit confused, as my sense of immersion was thrown out the gate, seems a bit turned on it's head...

The visuals of the characters are fairly good, and the backdrops seem unique and creative... The few animations I saw were alright but short... I think there was kissing animations maybe? but they seemed to bug out, because the game would pause but nothing played out till finally some more text would appear as though something had occurred but didn't show on the screen... Not sure if that is a bug, or what it was...

The script is pretty good, as I only ran into some occasional spelling/grammar errors... The plot (what little there is for the moment) revolves around a male protagonist who is 20 years old and is attending a boarding school which only requires one class per day for 2 hours... When I read that, red bells went off, as again the immersion took a hit... What person in their right mind spends the absorbent amounts of money it costs to go to a private live on campus school just to take a two hour class each day?

Dismissing the plot holes I already mentioned... The rest of the story involves the protagonist meeting a woman while dropping off his belongings two weeks before classes start... And depending on choices, they hit it off, but she is too shy to have sex with him... When the school year begins, after meeting a few other women, including the woman who is also his bunk mate (go figure), he meets his teacher and a class bully... Eventually in the end the protagonist gets with the woman he met before, and they have sex... And although it may have been a bit rushed, that their relationship moved that quickly, I could deal with it, since it's not unheard of... The content ends very shortly after that...

Now here is where a couple more hits to the immersion come along... First, the teacher is dressed like she is ready to seduce every man who comes within eye shot, with a very open dress showing her cleavage and no bra... Come on, no teacher/professor/etc wears clothes like that in any normal school I'm aware of... Staffing usually has dress codes just like students, to look more professional... Then we have the class bully, who acts more like an immature high school teenager then a young adult... And at the end of the current content, she sexually attacks another Adult student (can you say jail time?), in front of many witnesses...

Overall, trying to dismiss all the plot holes and even the premise of the school itself, as well as the over the top things that occur, I just felt disappointed... The story telling in and of itself was decent, but some of the stuff going on was just immersion breaking... There has to be some sense of believability in a story to be immersive and not require a huge suspension of disbelief... I tried to put the boarding school non-sense out of my mind, because it was just a slight stretch... But then add in all the other non-sense mixed in with what I thought might be a romance/love story, with some lust thrown in, just left me feeling disappointed... Not majorly, but disappointed enough to be unsure about revisiting this one as it continues development... Have to wait and see...
