What are we even expecting out of this update from a progression standpoint? Forget about the Aunt/Cousin storyline (even though I’m sure it will be 80% of the update), and focus only on the Mother/Daughter side.
So little has happened on the Mother side, I can’t even pinpoint where it’s going. More talking? A kiss? Everything that could have a lasting effect on the story happens in dreams so “lol didn’t happen”, and were still at square one. Where the fuck are we?

And I mostly agree. Even more, probably this thread is more enjoyable than the game itself.
About the game, I'm not a big fan of VN, I like as much freedom as possible, when I play, and VN are not famous for that. So, seeing the VN tag I was biased toward "pass".
OTOH with a lot of branching even a VN might work, moreover when I did read about the slow development I was all like: "Great!"
To quote someone at the start of this thread:

The slow development I wished for was the slow development of the relationships, because in-game the MC needed to make choices, pondering consequences, move slowly or freaking out the "prey".
10+ hours spent playing the game to get to the first sex, for example.
Another 2+ hours to move from that to a stable relationship.
Hours spent playing, which means making relevant choices (relevant being a keyword, here) and seeing their outcomes.
That was the slow development I had in mind.
Here, instead, the slow development comes mostly from RL slow development of the game itself and some sort of logorrhoea which seems to afflict the developer himself .
Moreover, playing it all in a single release makes it still acceptable, but god forbids who played every single update!
I can totally see why one might have this kind of reaction:

To be fair, both renders are shit. The difference is that one is pretentious as fuck with the angle it is taken at. And the other gets straight to the point.

Act 2?... We have not even finished Act 1. Only two Chapters left but was delayed for another month. We were supposed to get a chapter 9 last week but didn't and said to be released in Feb. But with last chapter 10 of Act 1, I will say the update will no take no shorter than 2 months. So to put in short You won't except Act 2 until we are halfway through the year.
