So, there are some bugs. And I'm sorry to say there was, again, no Starfire or Blackfire content. But...and this is what makes this update Fan-Fucking-Tastic...there was no new content for Raven!!!!! Hahahahaahahah! The fucking whiners who always complain about getting too little now get to feel like Blackfire fans, Lois fans, Mercy fans, yadda yadda yadda. So I say, Sunset, job well done.

Incidentally I am only not a Patron right now for financial reasons. Will return hopefully soon.

I wonder, do you play Elder Scrolls Legends by any chance? I played vs someone with your exact username this morning...

Anyway here's my thoughts on this game, since it's very controversial it seems.

Finish the story, whatever it actually is. Then you work on the side characters cell/bordello content one by one until they're all finished. Then you can look into branching storylines etc. And so far as you can get away with it, keep shtum on what you're actually doing rather than making wild promises that people can rip to shreds. You're just handing ammunition to your haters in those cases.

I get that Sunset doesn't work that way but it's not an efficient way to create a game. You don't finish projects to a high standard by plucking at whatever thought thread interests you then dropping it as soon as you start to get bored.
If I were Sunset, I wouldn't have added anyone until the original nine (?) heroines, Harley, Mercy, Lois, Galatea, Tala, Roulette and Cheshire were completed fully.

I also get that he might not want to focus on one character to that extent. But if he's developing video games for a living then he needs to do so because we all need to do things we might not want to do, especially at work. His livelihood depends on the goodwill of his supporters and there's no surer way to turn people away from you than by being vague and random with your content and leaving virtually everything half finished or unimplemented. Without the inherent draw of the possibility of fucking your favourite DC heroines and villains I think Sunset would be struggling right now. But maybe that's just me being extremely cynical.

And I'm not knocking the guy for the sake of it. I'll admit he's far more talented than I could ever hope to be in the realm of game design and development. I really enjoy the game for what it is, it's a really interesting concept that COULD be ripped right out of an R-Rated comic book. I'll tip my hat to the man for attempting to do what he's doing.
I just think he's going about it entirely wrong. It's a good game but it's painfully obvious when you play it that the focus from the creator just isn't there.

Hey, not sure if this is mentioned somewhere, but where do you put the HD asset pack? Like, just in the SU_2.1.7_Data folder or somewhere else?
As many have said before, the HD asset pack is only the art work used in making the game. Nothing to do with playing it.

One small bug I've found in Killer Frost's cell, when she is suppose to be having her lez scene with Harley, the art work for Mercy shows up.

This may be true but the bigger a game gets the more difficult it becomes to make new content bug free, i suspect that the dev of the game is spending a huge amount a time bug hunting.

And of course there is another point:
I do not pay for this game, for my problems with peatron and their payment methods, but because i am not paying i have no right to demand a shit.........and in my opnionen that is true for everyone else that is not supporting the game. ;)
Meaningless argument. He's been doing it for a couple of years now and he should've learned to code. At the very least he should've learned to not break his own game every update.

This of course still doesn't excuse the updates getting smaller and smaller.

Perhaps I didn't highlight enough one of the points: the quality of the product is independent from the amount of money he receives. Besides in creative work quality is a fluctuating variable, you can't expect to deterministically get a certain quantity or quality of product out of the same amount of work hours. Writing, art and coding too (to a greater degree than people think) are endeavours of the mind in which skill and experience of course matter but alone aren't enough. If it was so, every professional writer could pull a best-seller out of technical skill alone and no best-seller would be nothing but exceptionally written from the theoretical point of view.
Add to this that as the game expands bugs are more and more likely and that as you use up narrative devices and events it gets harder to add content which is not simply a rehash of the previous one. Besides you need to take into account previous work constantly to avoid inconsistency and this game's nature also is not entirely linear, so some work goes into figuring out which conditions should hold to reach a point without introducing either game or immersion breaking combinations of choices.
Making games is hard, as it's hard creating in general. No matter how much they pay you.

In conclusion, the dev could be getting a million dollars out of patreon, but that won't change his skill. And it doesn't make sense to critique him for getting more money and delivering a product perceived of lesser quality in more time, because those pledges are freely given and they're paying for his effort, not the result.
You will probably argue he isn't putting the same effort, but that is an assumption and unproved. Increase of bugs and dev time is not necessarily proof of that and it correlates well with the increase of the project size and the usual diminishing returns one gets working on a long project.
Wrong yet again. Money is a huge incentive to create, which is why he abandoned his comics and started doing this game in the first place.

Anyway, you're acting as if this would take a huge amount of skill. As far as I know, SR7 mainly uses Unity plugins for the code, and doesn't really write anything himself. So the fact that every update is this buggy is inexcusable. The fact that every update gets smaller and buggier is also inexcusable.

His art is good, but he mainly uses interchangeable assets that don't take a lot of time to edit. So it's really the poor code that keeps him back. And laziness.

Sunset is great at content creation but I do sometimes wonder about his skills as a dev. I mean the change log makes it seems like he hard codes everything instead of using custom objects, he uses the registry for save data (crazy), and it would be nice if you could get scroll over hints on how to unlock the extra costumes that are available but doesn't seem like that idea occurred to him.

So
*Audrey stuck at "can't take into public yet"
*Superwoman slut scene missing or does not trigger
*Terra blowjob scenes are missing
*Vixen strip scenes missing or does not trigger
*Wonderwoman stuck after first lasso scene, trying a new lasso scene locks the game effectively with no way to go forward

We all having the same issues, right? Killer frost update seems to be the only one working 100%

Killer Frost's lesbian scenes are bugged for me. The first 2 worked fine (Galatea, Cheshire), but Harley scene plays with Mercy images (Harley's dialouge) and Superwoman scene plays with Galatea images. After getting 4 lesbian scenes visiting Killer Frost can freeze your game when trying to play another lesbian scene. The lesbian scenes are RNG and seem to take many tries to trigger them.

I can't open Killer Frost's cell. It's right after Terra's cell and each time I click on it it opens Terra's cell instead... any workaround?

So yeah guess you'll have to wait another 2 months for a bugfix.

Why on Earth would he try to make that comparison? The reason an open-ended dev cycle works, in my opinion, is because at the beginning of every cycle, DC gives a clear objective of what the upcoming build will be on. He focuses on one route to a point of completion (comparably). Since you've explicitly stated (so I've heard) that you won't be releasing it that way, don't try and compare it to something like Summertime Saga. Also DC lets his patrons vote for his content and he has an updating progress bar on how everything is going. It makes the wait more tolerable. And I've never heard him make excuses for not rolling out a bugfix, especially for one serious enough that its blocking a serious amount of content.

Money is an incentive but won't make anyone more skilled overnight. If he's not a good programmer and uses only Unity plugins as you say then this amount of bugs is even surprisingly low. And if he is not a programmer then you shouldn't expect him to have bug-free builds, it's unreasonable. Even AAA titles are constantly shipped bugged and they have very good programmers and big teams to boot. So you're hurting your cause even more with this argument.
People pledge because they like the game, both in concept and what's been done and also for what could be done in the future, but no amount of money pledged can justify the expectation of a technically good product if he is no programmer, doesn't have one on the team and hasn't promised to get one. If he got someone else on board or said he would, you might be right about patrons possibly expecting better quality, but if not then it's just a willfull wish.
About the art being reusable assets, it doesn't matter, the patrons sure find it worth enough to pledge.
You just don't like how much money he makes because you don't feel like he deserves it, but in the case you were right the patrons would simply stop or decrease their pledges and in time the money/worth ratio would normalize.
So, unless you want to make an argument for people to stop or decrease pledging, thus possibly halting the game's development, I don't understand what your goal is, apart from some kind of dev-shaming of sorts.

Huh thats weird,if anything cloning Terra makes more sense considering the original is well...dead.
It was used to put her into her narrative final state(total obedience, which I would assume is the mental state all cell inhabitents are supposed to reach somewhere down the line).
Found it actually to be rather clever to use her canonical death as a way to cut her ties with DS and the TT.
Needs a scene where she meets Starfire though, just seems weird they are sitting just rooms apart and no one acknowledges it.

Cloning Audrey on the other hand did actually feel pointless, considering she offers absolutely no advantage for Lex now that her counterpart is back with Savage.
Also why would you keep the damaged goods version if you could get a virgin with the exact same memories?
The original must have slept with half a country ffs <-<
