New events trigger when you enter your house, and yes as answer to your question. You do need a seperate save for each gang. Someone posted a full save library with finished 2.0 saves for all four gangs. I would recommend downloading those saves if you want to try out each gang.

guys I found the problem with the negative dream: you must talk to sarah on the living room, then pick the tinymon card from the entrance door, go upstairs give her the card, take the tinymon card on sarah's room, go downstairs to the bathroom, give her the second card and finally pick the third and last tinymon card from the bathroom. After that you go upstairs, talk to sarah and go to the kitchen.
