Why don't we have a tag for avoidable NTR

Major, minor, optional, at what point does maintenance and human intellect come into consideration?

I can already see the discussions. „I am ok with MINOR ntr, as stated in tagging! But he looked at my LI TWICE! Not as per guideline *posts some weird link* universally true definition! This is Major, he basically raped me!“

In short if we don t grow in maturity, no new website will help.

Well, I assume that minor tag doesn't refer to the intensity of a tag, but to its quantity.

Only one pair of Big boobs in a game full of loli content? => Minor tag.
A single Lesbian scene and the rest just straight sex? => Minor tag.

But, in general I agree with you.

A lot of confusion seems to stem from people refusing to read descriptions, and engaging in arguments that have nothing to do with the actual game. 9/10 if I look at a game with the NTR tag the dev will talk about it in the description. People need to stop seeking out things that make them mad on the internet.

Might as well tell them to quit breathing. Hang on, that isn't a bad idea.
I am as annoyed at them as anyone, especially as a „ntr“ dev. But what you are implying is too extreme.

Also I believe that end of the day we should be one community, however impossible that is.

Because after "avoidable NTR" there would be incessant requests for more "avoidable" genre tags.
How dare people, ask for adding of new tags for search that are not possible with the current tags. How they dare to use tags as a searching tool.
How about people who are that adverse to NTR just decide to play games that do not have an NTR tag? That doesn't seem that difficult. There's a shitton of games without NTR. There is no game on this site that is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo damn good that people who despise NTR need to ask for NTR to be avoidable so that they can play.
There are many games that contain NTR and could be enjoyed by non-NTR fans because it is avoidable. Most people do not want devs to change their games, people want to know if is a game made only for NTR fans or a game that could be enjoyed by everyone. I have played many of those games without seeing a single NTR scene. This is not black and white, there are NTR games, non-NTR games, and games that could be enjoyed by both NTR and non-NTR.
I don't see what problem do you have with "avoidable NTR" if a game has NTR scenes that can be disabled (aka "avoidable NTR") then NTR fans could enjoy the game and non-NTR fans could also enjoy the game, and the developer has both audiences wich increase his incomes. Everyone wins. People shouldn't skip games they could enjoy because you want the site to not properly tag what games have.

I am not a fan of NTR, but I'm not one to demonize it. If a game looks interesting, whether it has NTR or not, I'll review the OP and see what it has to offer. If the description says "avoidable NTR" and looks good, that's fine with me. If it looks like a good game and doesn't say that, I still will give it a go. If it's meh or looks like shit, I'm moving on to something else NTR or no-NTR.
The point is that the place to find if the game has "avoidable NTR" is the tags. Having something more in the description is fine, but the purpose of the tags is to show people what the game has, so if the description says "avoidable NTR" the tags should say it too. In fact, with an "avoidable NTR" tag it should be possible to change the rules to ban talking against NTR in any NTR game that is not avoidable because once people know NTR is not avoidable if they don't like NTR they should leave the topic, games topic shouldn't be the place were people discuss is NTR is good or bad.

It's pretty simple. Why make it so hard? If someone is that adverse to NTR - just use the NTR tag as a way to remove games from your options. Doing so saves headaches for themselves, the developers of games with NTR, and the fan base in the threads of those games.
Did you think for a moment that this would hurt those developers that want to make games that could be enjoyed by both NTR and non-NTR fans? Your message is that any dev who dares to put one single NTR scene, no matter how avoidable is, to lose most of the possible fanbase because you are indirectly declaring a boycott against anyone who touches that genre.

That's sort of helpful, but will users be able to search and filter based on if a tag is optional or not? For example, someone who excludes "scat" now may want to include it only when it's listed as an optional content tag.
By default, the exclude tags option will only work on content that is not optional. I might have a toggle option to change this behaviour, we'll see.

New tags will be added when the tag suggestion system in place, there's no point adding them before then as retagging 10k games using our small team would take forever.

There are no plans at the moment to implement major/minor tags, perhaps when the tag suggestion system is in place we can look at this again.

A 'Story Rich' tag would also be useful..
I feel like everyone and their mom is going to add that one, it'll be like the big titties tag, which is sad since it'd be super useful. It would have to be a voted award tag which would be a whole other job
Now why do we like porn with plot? I never care for it with actual porn, better emotional attachment than possible than regular porn? well whatever it is plot porn games are great.

Thanks for replying to him, I felt he was pretty hostile and wanted to reply to him with a pretty mean reply but decided against being rude to some random guy on the internet, also felt it would take away from the discussion.
So thanks for replying to his points
Just saying I don't get why some people on this site are just generally hostile for no real reason, game devs work hundreds "not all" of hours making games and we pretty much pirate them but here they are in the discussion and not angry. Just something I've thought about.

I think the whole tagging system needs an overhaul.

To prove my case, here is the Tags from the first game in the forum atm:

"Furry,2DCG, Big ass, Big tits, Cheating, Corruption, Creampie, Dating sim, Exhibitionism, Handjob, Interracial, Male protagonist, Masturbation, Milf, Oral sex, Point & Click, Romance, Sex toys, Stripping, Teasing, Titfuck, Turn based combat, Vaginal sex"

Now lets diggest this:

Furry - Could be a usefull tag, if its actually furry and not a single scene with a girl wearing catears or using a tailplug.
2dcg - no idea what that means
Big Ass - Present in 95% of games and could mean anything from "decently shaped butt" to "unrealistically large butt"
Big Tits - I can hardly remember a game without them.
Cheating - Could be a usefull Tag, if cheating is actually an important aspect of the game, if its "one of the 10 woman you banged had a friend and therefore cheated" its not.
Creampie - Again, are there games without?
Dating Sim - Usefull Tag.
Exhibitionism - Could be...
Handjob - Yeah, again, what game doesnt?
Interracial - Its 2022....
Male Protagonist - Usefull Tag.
Masturabation - Could be...
...

I think I made my point clear.
Going just by the tags here is all I know for sure about the game:

Im male. Its a dating-sim and all I need is my mouse, it has some form of turn based combat system. Oh and its a lewd game.

Thats all the information for "what is in it".
I could deduce a few more of "whats not in it", but honestly if I knew what was in it, I wouldnt need to do that and at least my standards are bit higher than "as long as it doesnt contain X Im happy".

My suggestion would be, if we are adamant about keeping tags like "big ass", that there are two categories of Tags.
One being "Major Tags" which you can only pick a small number of say maximum 3 or 5. These represent the core elements of your game.
The other being "Minor Tags" which may include everything else.

So, we end up with less Tags, but more meaningfull ones.

I think I made my point clear.
Did you? your complaint is basically that you have no idea what tags mean... Well lucky for you here is a full list of all tags and their definition.

Tags are there to label what content is present in the game even if only one scene, not what the game is about.

For more details you have an overview and screenshots, that coupled with tags should be more than enough information to know what the game is about without going into spoilers territory.

Way to missrepresent. Im not compaining, Im acknowledging an issue, which apparently many have, which is not finding what they are looking for.

Tags are there to label what content is present in the game even if only one scene, not what the game is about.
As was said before, this is not so easy for Tags such as NTR because what does NTR actually mean?
Likewise, what is a "big butt"? When do tits become "big"?

Hence, maybe we could rethink how we label games and improve?
