Why do people dislike VN and RPGM?

Dislaimer: I make a VN with relatively few choices, so I am biased.

I stopped playing games when there's porn in them. Why?

Because most of the time it's bad. I'd rather have a VN with a good story than bad gameplay...

But then, other players will like other things. Some are more vocal than others.

My advice: do what you want to do and keep the scope manageable.

You like VNs? Make one if it's what you want to do. There are more than 2 million users on this site alone, IRRC. There are players who will like the type of game/VN you do as long as you don't put out garbage. Look at the most liked games on the site, a lot of them are simple VNs.

If you want to cater to people with something you do not like or cannot make well...I think it's bound to fail, or you are going to burn out.

Just my 2c though.

Thanks for telling me this, I understand what you're telling me. I'll try to keep things manageable and make games that aligns with what I want. I guess making great games comes with great experience in developing them. Thank you again.
