That just makes Authority even MORE OP, not less.
So not only can Jake mind control people. He can also control other things too!
What is the full extent of this? does it reach reality bending? can he control physics?
To reach reality bending, Authority needs to be paired up with Power to create Order, the power to rewrite the fundamental order of the universe, the strongest known power, like how MC is both body and memory, any spawn that inherit both of this trait will be unfathomably powerful regardless of their relative level. But it is very unlikely since if a spawn that is not from body + memory get double traits, they will be killed immediately. You can find this information if you ask aglaecwif (the monster milf you impregnate) what's the greatest power.

All Apostle traits are busted in their own ways, but despite that they still play by the same general rules as everyone else, even if they're more potent. Differences in Monster Power and levels seem to apply some sort of mitigation effect on them in the case of ones that apply some sort of effect. Jake's Authority trait was resistible by anyone with enough Monster Power and did chip damage to those with levels over him, whilst Evander's Destruction trait seems to have the volume it's capable of obliterating cut when used on those with enough Monster Power.

The trait itself has a large amount of versatility, but it's limited by the parts that Jake can learn to use.
Alice has the trait of the Ether, which is the same trait that Nico has, but Alice can't teleport or open portals. It would be possible for her to develop that at a further evolution, but it looks like individual superhumans don't develop every possible ability that their traits can do.
It was also already mentioned that differences in power make a large difference, and the MC even without a large power advantage broke free from Jake's control multiple times. Ella reinforced to Jake that if he wasn't careful with a superhuman that was vastly more powerful that the struggle between their powers would end up killing him.

Actually no...
Mc DID have a large power advantage. He had more power points and a full evo on Jake.
If it was equal in level Jake prob would win.

It is also worth highlighting the fact that Jake had an army helping him and that at that moment an army was still too much for the MC.

Using Alice and Nico as a comparison trait to Jake is not a good example for the simple fact that their monster parents compared to Jake is of a different level, if Alice were to be a spawn of the Apostle instead of the fairy, her power over Ether wont be limited to just Graviton Orbs, let's take MC or Ella for example, due to them both being apostle of 3rd (4th if MC choose another route), Bramon Xanthe and other Superhuman have noted that most shapeshifters can only commonly transform a specific parts or into specific things, noone had complete transformation and the versatility that Ella or MC has.

WHAT!!!
WHEN??!!!
I played .97
You still end up having to return mia memories after Jake removed them
Jake never removed her memories. Jake just fucked up his Authority power due to being mid-evolution, which caused her brain to fragment. Its not that the memories were gone, it was that Jake's authority was so far reaching that she had effectively been given amnesia.

If you go to the search bar and search up Mia, you can find some people comparing the text updates. In one of the most recent updates, WW had gone back and edited all instances of explaining Jake's power to remove the implication that he actually affects memories.

Still not sure what the difference is between power and skill. We've sort of come to expect that power is the main focus point of evolution and our abilities and the like, but skill seems to be independent of our evolution level or capabilities.

The fairy is the Chosen of Ether, and thus a pure spawn, having inherited the full and untainted trait. There's no reason to think he didn't pass on the pure trait to Alice.
The shapeshifters Xanthe is talking about are mixed breeds, like the Minyak which only has 40% Body and can only transform into that oily liquid. If Ella turned into a monster, though, she would most likely be able to pass on the pure Body trait (unless she also has Memory).

Skill is skill, exactly what it says.
How good you are at flying, acrobatics, swordplay, etc. If you meet the skill check in Valravn's fight, you'll impress him with your skill with your sword hands.

Beyond it being a way for non/low corruption runs to get "stronger" any character could be powerful without being skilled, IMO Jake is a good example.
