The next person/s to leave any gay hate speech (including passive aggressive or funny jokes) comments, will be banned without previous notice.

I'm gonna be very clear about this, if you don't like a fetish you ignore it and move on, don't bother commenting because know one cares that you hate gay/lesbian content...

You've all been warned, i don't care if you're a donor, a uploader or super user.

It's actually good to see more variety, there's not enough MxM or FxF.....cross out that last part, there are lot of FxF games.

I'm a huge fan of MxM and it's pretty rare considering all the other pairings, so I am all for this. It's a good start and i'll at least keep an eye on it to see how it develops. :)

Hey all,

I appreciate the activity, comments, etc. I was initially concerned about the community not being as open to it. Others have noted that there is virtually no other gay content here. There are a few games in the works (the 2 ex-Black Monkey Pro artists, Seiyuu Danshi, etc.) but those were Kickstarter funded and all we have seen are small demos. Thus, we have to wait to see or play anything. I really like the way many of the games on F95zone are release like a serial novel. It's fun to wait, imo, like watching a TV series and having to wait until the next episode.

Plus, as a complete newb at this, it gives me a chance to learn from the community as I go.

While the game will certainly have gay content in it (the primary focus); getting to this content will move somewhat slow and natural. Honestly, the story will focus more on dialogue and the process of that moving. While gay, this will probably be about the straightest gay game ever. I really want characters that do not fit the traditional "boy love" or "feminine" bias of yaoi. However, I don't want butch characters either. The long-term point here is that sexuality and attraction may be more fluid and not fit into specific categories like "straight" or "gay." I really wanted to break some stereotypes here; hence the name "straight!?"

Dude, just take your time and have fun developing your characters. A fleshed out character is always better than a mindless dork who just wants to fuck everything that moves (yeah, Max, I'm looking at you).

On a side note, I find it cute how people are quick to bash MxM content but are totally a-okay with FxF. Seems kinda hypocritical to me...

Best of luck with your game, it's always good to have content here for people who haven't been represented yet.

Great! always love to see more m/m content. I'm super stingy with my patreon support, but if this shows potential it might have to be next in line.

Traps aren't gay tho
Well they sure as hell ain't straight either tho. And personally, i know for sure which interests my bisexual ass is satisfying when indulging in some trappy fun.

EDIT:Uh oh... about 10 mins in and the main character is already annoying me a bit... Getting a sort of holier-than-thou pseudo-wise man vibe, like his teen-aged ass figured everything out one night chllin' in his bedroom. Hopefully that advertised 'character development' applies to him too.

(Of course not everything is for everyone, and if one dude ends up dissatisfied that shouldn't discourage OP from doing his thing. Not that it would, i'm sure.)

Also, it seems impossible to save. I get an "exception has occurred" error every time i try so far.

Hey Tiggie,

Good, solid feedback. Thank you. I certainly want to develop both characters. I really appreciate your thoughts. While my intent is not to make the MC a "pseudo-wiseman," you have noted some observations that suggest I need to be cautious with my writing. For that, I really appreciate; so thank you.

First time, I've heard the save concern so I'm going to look into this. I'm still learning Ren'Py as I go...this also includes may ability to test my own shyt :p

In terms of Patreon support, I completely understand. No worries from my broke-ass. I'm pretty stingy too. Plus, I'm completely new at this so I don't blame you for being cautious :)

Seriously appreciate your time and thoughts

It's nice to have variety. Being bisexual too, I like to see more M/M content here. The game itself is off to a good start, even if I don't know why, but I had some trouble to discern who's who and needed some time to put a name on a face. I think that I was not very attentive in the first lines of dialogues...

Beside the save problem, I don't have anything to add, except that I'm watching this evolve and consider making at least a one time donation later on...

Thanks for checking in. I was wondering about the characters names early on, myself. A lot of games continue to use small portraits or sprites for character dialogue. I wanted to focus on the CG rather than having sprites ducking in and out. The downside to this was potential confusion at the beginning with character names. I'm keeping this in the back of my mind and appreciate the observation. Curious if others had the same problem. I may be able to add in some extra dialogue here and there early on to smooth it out if it's a common problem.

I don't know if you can call it the 'straightest' gay game when you say you want to avoid "yaoi" or "boy's love" stereotypes when yaoi is an extremely hetero subgenre itself imo, considering that both "yaoi" and "boy's love" refers to m/m work made for and by a straight female audience :^) (you'd be surprised at how many people don't realise "yaoi" and "gay" aren't actually synonyms)

Kinda like how there's a lot of "lesbian porn" made with a straight male audience in mind.

@Aaryn , in case you aren't aware of it, Fenoxo.com does have a fair few MxM fans. So if you haven't done so yet, post your game there. :D

Thanks a lot for the heads up. I'm looking for other areas to post it. While I don't want to call it "advertising," it's essentially what I need to do to get a wider audience and more feedback. I'm always ready to post on more sites. I'm still learning some of the sites out there though, particularly ones that may have more a M/M audience. I've mostly played straight games cause that's all there is...

A valid point. I poorly worded my original intent in that I do not want "girly" characters. When I see yaoi, I traditionally think of more feminine characters or feminine physical features (that could just be a personal thing). While I don't want to get too far off track, my intent here is fairly masculine characters. I may have poorly summarized that as "yaoi" in general.

Interesting! Will definitely be keeping an eye on this.

Out of curiosity, will there be multiple relationships/flings/partners/whatevers to choose from or will the roommate we meet in this intro be the only "path" in the game? Not that I don't like him lol, but still.

Heya,
To answer the question in the worst way possible: I'm not sure.

Essentially it will be a question of Wants vs Ability. I would like to have multiple characters. However, given that I'm new to Ren'Py, I'm unsure how much of an undertaking that will actually be. Thus, since I'm learning as I go, I will mostly likely focus on Braden's route, complete it, then return to explore potential other routes if others are still interested or I'm not burnt out. I have a large portion of Braden's route mapped out. I just don't know how much work that will be CG-wise or programming. I'd rather focus on one route, complete it, and have closure rather than attempt too much for a newb, fuck it all up in the middle, get stressed out, and quit. So, for now, it's just Braden, but I may return to add other routes based on ability and interest.

Like "Braden's Story" then later you'd go to another character's story and Braden has an appearance or could be an interest? And so on? It would work well. Individual stories in one central universe. Like Tlaero & Mortze.
