I'm really thinking about supporting this project, it has a lot of potential, the graphic section is excellent and the story although not very deep is not bad considering that it is just beginning, really a decent job
I think it's a little late, as the game is currently 3/5 of the way to completion. So, unless you're interested in supporting the dev himself, I'd say wait until his next project.

Then after these 5 days does not follow the story? What a shame, nothing to wait for the next project with desire, thx

CZ was planning a sequel to Snow Daze (called Summer Daze IIRC) but he has some other game he wants to make first.

Yeaaaaah, as much as I can appreciate the effort and skill, it's just so cringy.
The cringe may not be as bad as huniepop or nineties anime; but the actresses, of Snow Daze, still haven't got the best script to work with.

Now, a good actor CAN make reading the phonebook sound interesting; but the question has always been, wouldn't you rather have them read something more interesting?

The voice acting is way better than a lot of porn western games that tried to do this.

Voice acting in NSFW games is a waste of money imo. Most of us play those games muted anyway and the story is not deep enough to make me want to sit somewhere in auto mode and listen to voice actors. I guess to each developer his artistic vision and it's personal preferences but if I had to make a choice, I would rather he spent more money on artists so that we could get more updates.

It's kinda ridiculous that it's going to be the 5th iteration on day 1 to 3 and still NO new content. Improved art is great but that can wait a more advanced stage of the game or even a special "HD" pack post release...

Anyway, Cypress said Day 4 will be released for Patreons this month and public release the month after, hopefully it's going to be just as good as his other updates.

Not everyone has adhd, yes the lazy dev is kinda the standard, but I for one appreciate music, sound and voice acting. Honestly it's like complaining about whipped cream on top of your apple pie, who even complains about that?

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaait, you masturbate in the library?
Yeah, I just heard the record skip too and was like wtf!?

Not to derail the thread but I don't think it's anything like being "lazy" to not want audio in your games. Original music is expensive to produce and what's free isn't always what you are looking for, it takes a lot of time to go through hundred of hours of music just so most of the playerbase can mute it instantly. What I mean by that is the time and effort it took to find or produce music/voiceovers don't always add to the game in a way that makes it better liked by the players. I'm not complaining by the way, I don't really care if you add music or voice overs to a game, it's probably getting muted anyway but I don't mind it being there. I was just sharing an opinion.

assumptions and complaining
I do not claim to know what 'most' people like or do not like and try not make wild claims, I merely stated my preference. We can all agree that if given the choice, Helen Keller would've likely preferred to be able to hear, as would many other deaf folks. Lazy devs are a thing, this site is chalk full of them (check abandoned/hiatus tag). Now you have been on F95 for more than a day and can probably tell a quality game from a shit one, it doesn't take a certain level of genius when it's pretty obvious.

The most successful games usually tend to have devs that are more active, they are assertive and engage with their patreons and folks in the community more often. About adding more scenes/art, CZ has an artist already and a certain standard for where he wants the art to be, adding more artists could mean compromising with the quality of the work thus far, plus buying art ain't cheap either. Sound is something that CZ can do without waiting on an artist. That being said, I stand by my assertion that adding whipped cream to apple pie is never a bad idea.

Adding another artist would compromise the game, different artists, different styles. Though I don't care as much about that as I do knowing something is coming out. If he is waiting for art, that's fine, but continually remaking the same couple of days, when the game is not that long as it is, I don't know...its weird. It feels like a milk, but that doesn't seem to be his style. I guess its a matter of what rationale CZ has given for it.

I don't really care about the voice acting, usually listen to it at least once, but on replay since you are going so fast past scenes you know the audio barely gets started before moving on.

Throwing more people at a project does not always result in something being done faster or better, as many professional projects (and their managers) can attest to.

I typed a long post in answer but it's too much of a hassle, you are probably not going to see it my way and I probably won't see it your way so let's agree to disagree.

I agree, 5 iterations of the same couple of days is disappointing, even if there is no shortage of game to play and the quality of each release is tremendous, I'ld still like a bit more progress into the story before reworking scenes.

There are already multiple artists working on Snow Daze, Fing is doing outlines and inking, Brellom doing coloring, There is also a third person doing the chibis but I forget their name.

Fing is also doing some of the audio production so that's time that could have been used for more artwork spent editing the sound files.

One of the big complaints was that adding sound to the game was going to cause delays, while I do not think its the reason that it is going on 5 months without an actual story update it sure doesn't look good.

I think most people would be happy with story progression and then updating the chibis, voices, other small things in between, similar to how Summertime Saga tends to do a bigger content update then a smaller update which is "bug fixes", preparing mechanics, small content updates, etc.

You worded my thoughts way better than I did, exactly what I was thinking.
