Potentially bad news incoming....
A prime example of why I wish some devs would actually plan their games out in regards to what they actually want to be. It's fine to not fully know every single tag, but you should know if your game is going to include something like NTR or not. I've played harem games with optional NTR and that's not my issue, but now the audience exists in a sort of limbo not knowing what this game is actually going to be.

If they don't have this figured out, what else do they not have figured out? Are they making things up as they go or do they have a tangible long term plan for how this game will develop? I sure hope they do.

NO MORE NTR PLANS! (and apparently no incest plans. Don't hate me anyone was just sharing my thoughts)

Honestly I think the no incest is a good thing, and I say that as someone who likes the tag. Similar to what I just said, if you aren't planning for an incest game, trying to lump the tag in there by making one character randomly related to you sucks and always has sucked. The thing that makes the tag hot (imo) is when that taboo element is played up and the characters actually feel like family. It's not hot when a game goes "hey this girl is actually your sister" and then that proceeds to have no actual bearing on literally anything.

It seems from his response that he was never considering incest. Looking at the grandmother, she clearly wasn't designed to be a Li (unless you're into GILF porn) and there's no mention of any other family.

You make a critical point. Planning the tags ahead of time will not just allow players to know what to expect but allow the dev to cater the story to include the tag. Just as you hate incest being dumped in at the last minute (to gain some additional supporters), I hate the other side where it clearly is an incest game and it claims it's optional; that you can change the character relationships; blah blah. In the end the interactions and every conversation makes it clear that this is your biological sister or daughter or mother.

Long story short it's better to plan out the tags in advance and craft a story that works with those tags.

yea still not buying it..
if he can flip the switch like that when he was already considering NTR he can do it again..

I seen it to many times with devs not having no clear plans laid out, and backpedaling...
would legit put most problems to rest if they planned before going into development..:coffee:

so in this case, will just pass for now.. in the future maybe I will check it again to see if the dev keeps his word or not.

also, thanks for the updates on this man.

No prob. You're welcome.

I can't vouch for the dev as I don't know him or his style. You'll have to watch and judge for yourself.
I will say that I highly doubt he will flip back to NTR just because of how controversial it is. The fact that he backed off it so quickly suggests to me that there was intense backlash. I think that option is truly dead. I could be wrong but that's my feeling.

V0.01 Impression
Tried this out of curiosity and was pleasantly surprised for a V0.01. Won’t be doing a full review as this is still in works.

STORY
It took me a minute to realize this was set in Japan. The opening intrigues because it hints at a police investigation. For now, it basically centers around college drama. The internal dialogue from MC feels overdramatic and tiresome, but perhaps dev has a reason for this style. So far, the story is pretty average - but there is something to be said for the supporting characters.

"I should give up all my dreams and wait for my death."

Yelling Grandma is kind of funny and there are a few deliberate jokes that land. Most of the ‘friends’ MC has are so far stereotypical and a little corny, but here’s to hoping they flesh out in the full product. Really looking forward to seeing what the police angle turns into. The game does need an additional layer of grammar checks and even story continuity checks. I spotted a few typo’s, grammatical errors and text displaying wrongly. That could be due to me playing the Android version, but that should be easily fixed in following versions. Please don't overlook this importance of having great grammar and

GRAPHICS

The aesthetics definitely stood out for me, this game has style going for it. It gives a movie-vibe and for the most part, that really works well. I also like the way the text is designed and spaced out the middle with names being separately colored. It’s stuff like that which sets the aesthetics apart. There’s a dark, moody feel to some of the scenes and it helps sell the idea that something ominous is about to happen. One thing - Jorge looks like an imported Nintendo menu character with all that glossy shine on his body. I get the anime look (Duke looks like Super Saiyan Duke), but so far Jorge looks like he uses moisturizer ever second. Other than that it pretty much works. It gives off Japan vibes without being too overly Tokyo.

GAMEPLAY

It’s a visual novel and as such, the only gameplay is choice. There are a few choices and while they do matter, the game is far too short for choices to change anything. For now, it looks like the developer is intending on making choices change the course of the game.

VERDICT
While the story can drag on (especially the internal monologues), I generally like the setting and am curious to see where this is going. So far, a solid 3.5/5 so far.

V.0.02.png

We're moving forward with version 0.02, having resolved the issues from version 0.01. We're kicking off this new chapter, introducing new characters and continuing the storyline from before, while also implementing some changes to the game menu.

Fell in love with the game and characters, hopefully the mystery part is tied well into the story as the college life part was great, Chloe the cheerleader is my personal favourite but all the cast has charm and personality. Hopefully the developers can keep adding to the story, they even said at the end that they have it written already, best of luck.
