Patreon on the warpath. Join their subscribestar if you can. As a matter of fact, everyone should just migrate over there.

it's payment processors putting pressure on everyone else to target the male gaze, because lewd is evil, hobbies are bad and escapism is the devil.

Usually I'd think $...but suspending accounts and telling them to fix whatever it is...wouldn't that cost them money?

Won't that cost them $? Sounds strange. I only hve a Patreon, not a SubsribeStar. Uuuuugh, I hate having multiple accounts for this kind of stuff. I only donate via Patreon for those I REALLY like and don't mind a small monthly charge, and Itch so I can throw in some small $ for the games I think have potential.

No, because the money they would've made through creators is subsidized through larger companies and government grants. It's a pretty fucked up system. Also, with the way Patreon constantly changes their rules and tos, some creators are getting their pages suspended or taken down with little to no warning. This disruption means their pledges are paused and they are forced to wait to hear how their page violated some new thing and then they have to scramble to fix it.
well...if Patreon is screwing with the developers and anyone that has a membership we should all support the developers and move to subscribe star...screw Patreon
Ideally yes alternative platforms, like subscribestar, are the solution for now. Unfortunately it's not so easy to just up and move, because there will inevitably be a drop off of supporters. No one likes managing multiple accounts, people like simplicity and convenience. The people who are trying to 'force change' are banking on this.

To summarize: when mastercard threatens to cut patreon off unless they adhere to x, y or z, patreon listens and then new rules rollout, which in turn fucks the creators who have to stop what they are doing for days/weeks to adjust their game to be within the new guidelines and the supporters get a delayed/watered down product as a result.
