When do you guys think the next update will come out? I'm cautiously optimistic for a mid September- late October release, but I wouldn't be surprised by a December- February date. The update was excellent as always, and the production value is astronomical, but I hope the game doesn't reach Being a DIK levels of bloat.

We can't make any informed speculation until TD gives us a sense of what the next update will encompass. I doubt it will be the next Exhibition, and it will probably include a date-type event for Rose, but beyond that it's hard to say how much might be included. If I had to guess at development time, I'd say the next update will probably be smaller than this, so 6 months seems like a reasonable starting point.

As far as bloat, I'm not really worried. I'd love the next update in a month as much as the next man, but you get what you pay for: good development takes time. The question is where that time is spent.

So far this game has had a very sharp focus on the story and main characters. No one's been shunted onto a holding pattern so we can spend time with side characters or run up the episode count while teasing the same old mysteries. I'm confident we'll keep that focus even if branching has to get broader as we approach whatever climax awaits us.

You're absolutely right. TD hasn't dissapointed us so far, so there's no reason for us to doubt him.

Overall, after this update, I'm once again convinced of how balanced the writers are in their approach to Carnation's personality.
With the introduction of Denise, players now have an example in front of their eyes of what might have happened to Felicia if she had continued to live her dream.
Some players now have an additional reason to love Felicia and become stronger in their desire to help her win, while others will become even more disappointed in her because she chose money over her dreams and pride.

On the other side we have Veronica, who literally went with fanatical perfectionism towards her dream of being a champion and opening a gym with her "exceptionally correct" methods and approaches to training process, that with each failure she only buried herself deeper and deeper, which led to breaking up with her wife, falling into a financial trap and ending up at The Club.

It would seem that with the last Carnation, Rosalind, everything would be on the surface - because of her husband's debts, she is here, threatened by bandits. I guess the casual player/reader will have sympathy for her, she's just a mother trying to get out of debt and protect her child from possible turmoil.
But does that make her situation any more special, especially against the background of the other characters in the game?
Edwin's mother has become a porn star to keep the family afloat after her husband's death. Hana's mother is also a porn star. Liza joined the club so her son could get into a prestigious university . Even a third-rate character like Harper mentions in a conversation with Edwin that she needs to pick up her son from the babysitter.
With that in mind, why should Rosalind get special treatment?

Lately, I'm picturing an ending where Edwin and Hana mine and make blow up the whole Club building with the Old Hag, Uncle Chuck, Old Pimp August and Warren in it.

"Elias is free to choose not to entertain each and every whim of his wife." That is correct but you overlook here that saving her school is not just an everyday whim of Felicia. She begged Elias to save the school and made it very clear how important this place is for her. Elias could have saved the school with ease, even getting great PR with it. And more, he would have gained Felicia´s thanks and full loyalty. She would never have gone to PC. But Elias did not save the school.

While hardly a nice move by Felicia, the humiliation of Elias in the social circle is currently near zero. The vast majority of the PC patrons are rivals of Elias and/or disliked him well before Feli came to PC. This was actually one reason Felicia came to PC, it was outside of Elias´normal social circle. So currently Elias suffers zero problems in his social circle.

To not be misunderstood: I'm not saying elias is a good husband. The game probably even paints it as him not saving the school to spite her. Its long since I played it. Just saying that on my moral compass there is still a big step between denying someone a wish and actively humiliating one's spouse in front of his peers.

it won't reach BaDIK levels, there's way less stuff in this game to complicate it. No minigames, no phone, no overdone free-roam etc... also less story branching.

They seem to be taking around 6 to 7 months at this point.

Also, the usual problem with AVNs, in terms of the amount of time it takes to update, is the render and animations queues... I think people falsely believe BaDIK takes a year because of mini-games and freeroams... it doesn't, if anything BaDIK's bloat right now is in DPC's insistance on making 60fps animations (which obviously doubles the amount of time needed per animation), which is retarded, but anyhow, that's not the case of PC, fortunately.

I meant development time. I know as the game gets better, it will take more time for updates to come out. I just hope we don't get one update per year schedule, as thst would be excruciating for a game of this quality, as I'm already hooked.

Oh, gotcha. Even though PC isn't a ludicrous spiderweb of branching plotlines, any VN with choices that vary the scenes we see will get wider as the story matures. So the update periods have to get longer or the updates have to get shorter on any particular path to maintain the same "area under the curve", unless we help the boys increase that area. Assuming CG work is the rate-limiting factor, I guess we could hire GIL a full-time live-in masseuse/maid/sexretary to take care of all his needs so he only stops working for sleep. If his wife objects, I guess we let Randomguy3478 reprogram her give them marriage counseling.

Change logs:

• Added more cheats and a stats screen (pics below), Cheats can be disabled in mod settings
• Added 2 more "mod option" to do multi scenes (both in prologue one in the disco and one at the end of the prologue)

Hope the stats screen turned out how people like it took a lot longer then i thought it would to get just right and its still not 100% or i wanted it (maybe when i get better at coding i can get to where i want it first time playing with viewports)

An excellent update, PC remains the most erotic game on the site, IMHO.

Now that our little kitten Mina knows that Hana tends bar at the same mysterious place that the MC works, it is a forgone conclusion that curiosity will drive her to investigate and discover the secret. Perhaps Hana will hire her to help out with the bar, bringing the stray into the fold with the rest of the cast.

What further chaos can Kathleen sew? I will go out on a limb and predict that both Victoria and Grace receive invitations to the final exhibition.

One of the great things about Pale Carnations is there are no idealised women or men in it everyone has faults and no its not just the evil old men taking advantage of all the innocent maidens. Pretty much every interaction with a carnation there is a reminder to Edwin that if given the opportunity any of those beautiful faces and pleasant demeanours would take him for a real ride if he were to be careless.

Thats not how a marriage works, it sucks he didn't save the school sure but from a business standpoint it makes sense why he didn't it would be a lost cause sure he can bail it out of financial problems RN but what about next month? or the month after that? is he expect to run this school for the rest of his life and losing money on it everyday it operates? just in the hopes his wife stays "loyal" i'm sorry if i was ever in a marriage were my thought was "dam i better buy this or my wife will cheat on me" no wait i wouldn't marry someone that would give me those red flags to begin with.
