Hi guys and gals,
I was doing some tests with Daz Studio figuring out some new stuff and relearning some forgotten things.

Just wanted to share the girl with you that I rendered during my tests.
She is not part of the game.

In case you were wondering... or maybe she looks familiar...
Her body/face is 50% Amy and 50% Yvette. Breast size reduced a little (yes, really).
Skin/Textures are from Carla. Eyes are from Angel.
Hair is just something that looked nice on her :)

I know I'm in the minority, but I like her with the reduced breasts. Actually a tad smaller wouldn't be bad either. I could see her being Jennifer's older sister just back from the Fitness World Championships. Hope she is lazy and takes the elevator. ;)

Please be patient waiting for the release. On Friday he said it would be out in a few days. This update grew to gigantic proportions over the month, and if Darkhound releases it too early, it could cause problems overall. We've been waiting for the wet t-shirt contest for a long time, but we'll have it soon.

I think that the next update will have some Delizia special content, then fill in some blanks. All the girls need the grope and flash action. Darkhound said that he'd like to have more post-poker lapdances. Sexting for Faye & Renee probably. Right there is 200 renders. So I think that the 1.4 update will also be huge.

hello everyone, my first post on the forum. ive actually been following the forums for a long time but just reading and downloading. i really liked this game, though it is too grindy and doesnt involve much story. it takes quite a time to trigger some thing and improve stats since i am not cheating but i am not complaining. maybe the game could include more story and more secrets to reveal and we could try to fight against the bad stuff the ceo (or other big guys who are not yet introduced) are willing to do to avoid the bad ending (better if that bad ending would be toooo far away cuz i really wanna see more content in this game).
Also i really hope there will be more Heather in the next update (and updates). I am her fan :)
and also maybe i did not progress too much, i am only on day 29 and stats : looks:1/5 (is there a way to improve it btw?i use hair spray or whatever to increase it for sometime but that is all), charm:4/5, Strength:8/10, Hacking/Sneaking: 1/5, Endurance 60.
Also another wish is if we could have a dark (black)-short (short is not necessary) haired, white skinned (like Heather) and blue eyed girl in the game with prefably at the same size tits with Renee. plus some tattoos on her back and (or) near belly down to her pussy. Actually (i dont know if it is against the rules but im gonna write it if against the rules mods can delete it or i can edit the post next time i come here), i am describing a little bit Elsa from Dreaming with Elsa game.

I believe this and many other misspellings are already slated to be corrected in the next update. One of the things I have so liked about Darkhound1 is his exceptional responsiveness to feedback.

Good to see that Darkhound still continues to improve, especially if this is just a test model without too much finetuning.
I feel a bit sorry for the "old" girls when the new ones get better and better. A new redhead with such a physique would be hard competition indeed and not just for Heather.
A few humble suggestions: make her a real daywalker redhead with tanlines, add more volume and length to her hair, give her some freckles and let her keep some bush. :heartcoveredeyes:

Change of subject.
I just recently noticed that the game has very high CPU usage when idling in-game, about 1/3 of a single core. It gets absolutely ridiculous when the game is minimized because then the single core usage climbs to ~95%. This can't be normal.
I compared this to some other renpy games and only Holiday Island behaved this way. Of those games I tested the latest compressed version of My Cute Roommate surprisingly had the best coding in this regard. Even fast mouse movement over clickable objects hardly increased CPU usage which happens in all other games. Might be worth looking into.

Yeah, I feel a bit the same when the new and old girls square off.

(although the random fitness girl here is at 70 likes and therefore spectacularly well received and thus a bit unfair to compete/compare against. Probably a good idea he has not named her yet, there'd be a crusade in her name :p)

Will probably be a returning "issue" that the teasers or new intros belonging to newer generations (or simply best of breed that Darkhound shows off :)) will leave some of the older or weaker girls as "contrast" or "filler"

I suppose it is both a function, of

(1) the original line ups creation process or history with building up/bulking up a line up and its attempts to cater to a wide range of tastes, some of which likely were guessed at rather than known at the time (no drooling Patreon horde available to click click their votes).

(2) and Darkhound improving with time, experience or inspiration.

I guess it is one of the pitfalls that has to be/is being navigated : How to juggle priorities & justify time and effort put into weaker performers, when more popular performers that cater to larger segments are available.

Mixing and matching. maybe some should have more. others less. etc. hm. plenty of work.

Going well so far though and funny enough it will likely be a spectacular succes girl (like this one) rather than any complaints (not hearing any of those) that will make patreons clamour for a particular entry :D (well ... more than they/we drool over any new girl that is :D :D)

Ilde musings & wild guesses aside, can't comment on the other games but,

- Moving mouse fast over objects give me about 10-15%% extra on one CPU on an old I5-3570 (negligible load difference).
- Having the game minimized over a period of 30 mins while playing another game, browsing, see a movie clip or simply idle produced no CPU spike attrbutable to HI.

So mileage can/will vary.

Alright I did some more testing.
Seems like it has something to do with the images displayed. If I push H for the test image single core usage decreases to <5%. Still higher when minimized, it then usually stays below 15% with some spikes up to 20%.
I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate with a 10-year old Q9550 @ stock settings.

Does HI use AVX? My notebook with Win 10 and Nehalem CPU shows the same behavior but duckswimming's Ivy Bridge CPU doesn't have this problem.

Version 0.1.3 beta - development news (updated 31/10/2018)
Hi guys and gals, this post offers you a collection of news about the next main version of Holiday Island (0.1.3.0 beta) and the smaller updates towards it.
There will be smaller, more frequent content updates, called content addons. They will include bug fixes and new content as well.
The change log below is based on the beta 0.1.2.0 release.

0.1.3.0 beta will include everything from 0.1.2.0 beta including all content addons and bug fixes.

The next release is 0.1.3.0 beta which includes bug fixes and new content

The update from 0.1.2.0 to 0.1.3.0 has 369 new renders and videos right now!

New features and content

  • Jessica gets the first "short event" which isn't really short any more :lol: --> will be added with 0.1.3.0 (still working on it)
  • Most of the "poker win" achievements have been changed to "multi image" --> will be added with 0.1.3.0
  • Eva's breast enhancement quest gets an update --> will be added with 0.1.3.0
  • Eva gets a reward scene, visiting you in your room --> will be added with 0.1.3.0
  • Yumiko gets the poker play appointment --> will be added with 0.1.3.0
  • A hot extended scene with Yumiko at the night bar --> will be added with 0.1.3.0
  • Yumiko tells how she met Joy and how she ended up on the island --> will be added with 0.1.3.0

  • "initimate action" counters not properly increased during Eva elevator scene and Amy shower scene --> will be fixed with 0.1.3.0
  • When you get the footjob from Renee, your lust isn't reduced --> will be fixed with 0.1.3.0
  • Eva pool distraction scene when she asks you to swim at the end of the scene could lead to a strange text: "Sorry, but this action is not yet supported for <player>" <player> could also be another girl name. --> will be fixed with 0.1.3.0
  • Ivy sexting image placeholder on phone achievements is missing --> will be fixed with 0.1.3.0
  • sleeping could cause error: name 'char1' is not definied in pl_actions.rpy, line 1077 --> will be fixed with 0.1.3.0
  • Some lines of text when talking to the doctor or with receptionist could not be seen. This is related to the size reduction of the text box. --> will be fixed with 0.1.3.0
  • Relaxing at the pool could cause the problem that text was shown, but the images were not changing. In addition all interface buttons were deactivated. --> will be fixed with 0.1.3.0
  • Some quests could be added several times for one girl (e.g. Natasha breast growth quest) --> will be fixed with 0.1.3.0
  • Faye gets the breast grope action back. Was accidentially removed in 0.1.2 --> will be fixed with 0.1.3.0


Is the update going to break save games?:
0.1.3.0 beta --> Save games from 0.0.8 and later can still be used. Earlier saves are no longer supported.

Hey all, I didn't see it mentioned in the OP or in the thread, so forgive me if I've missed it, but the cheats for poker have changed due to the object structure.
i.e.
it used to be
g_poker_game.participants[1] = 0
(for setting girls chips to 0)
and
g_poker_game.participants[0] = 500
(for setting your chips to 500)

it is now
g_poker_game.participants[1].chips = 0
and
g_poker_game.participants[0].chips = 500

That's it. I hope this helps.
