Do you use your own name when naming characters?

i usually stick with default names and for the games where you can pick your own name i tend to use character names from my favourite movies for some reason

I have recently been using the name "Max Girth" for the MC, but for the life of me I cannot think of how or why I came up with that name.

nope ,my real name is non-english it doesn't fit .
And no I don't need the MC to live the life I want .
Plus MC tend to be more muscular horsedicked and younger (much younger ) as I am myself .
Most of the time I use : Dude , sometimes results in Dude dude what are you doing.

Honestly my first name is unique and it barely feels like my own name so I usually use my middle name or some other basic/common names like John or something that fits the characters look. If its a jp game I usually pull up a list of names and whatever sounds cool I use.

During the early days of me slowly being familiar of Adult games, I name my MC Arthur, but since Arthur is uncommon I name the MC Arthurius while a female MC is Alessia or Sypheria.

My name is sacred to me.
I will always call my charaters Malaficus Shaikan* if i can.
Annabel Shaikan* if there female because i like that name.

Not being able to name a charater after myself is an anoyance but not a dealbreaker.

I do fear people will steal my name and use it to slander me.
It is suchs an awesome name after all.
If you mean my birth name then no.
It isnt what i call myself anyway.
Just something i was born with.

Is there a way for Ren'py to warn players if they are using the same name as one of the NPCs? It can get kind of confusing when my name and one of the main NPCs names are the same

I liked this idea so much that I implemented it in my game

Never mine, but i used a similar name once and soon there was some surprise buttsex. Started using weird names since.
However, the most normal-looking name i like to use is Alan Strodeyer...

I just use the popular names and tend to go for short names no crappy ass "Wellington" or shit like that. I also dont go for "funny" names, it dumbs down a good story, or makes a dumb game even dumber by doing stupid shit like naming the MC 'PenusBlaster"...

My default names for male is... Max, John, Kyle, Keith, Jason, or James...
Max for when the MC is "18" but actually looks and acts younger....
John for when he is between 20-30
James for when he is 30-40
Kyle, Keith and Jason for when I think his face looks like those names...

For females it depends on hair color and age as well...

Blonde and young ? Ashley or Amy
Redhair ? Rachel
Brunette ? Lisa or Mary

Older gals 30-45 ? Linda, Beth, Melissa, Eva

If a surname is needed then sometimes it's Buttsnot Assclown, or Jeef Buttsnot... Who cares unless ya let someone have a Save. Then I'm sure they would change the name...LOL
