Do you use your own name when naming characters?

Hm. Yeah, some people apparently want to project reality onto their video games.

There's nothing really wrong with that, I guess. Me, I'd rather keep my reality as far away from my video games as possible. It'd be creepy as hell if a porn game character happened to be named after a family member, or that girl I was into in school.

Then again, that's totally personal, and it sounds like a bunch of folks are actually looking for that connection. I guess it's a turn-on/turn-off thing like fetishes.

In my game i just come up with random names. In other games where you can name your character i just put Sase, mainly coz you can type it with one hand

Sometimes. I usually use the default name though, it varies from game to game though.
I did find a game recently that let me name all the characters, its NTR(Not usually my thing) so I named him Cuck-Kun :)

As I've said in other threads, the main reason I choose male MC games over female is because I'm living vicarously through the MC. Sure they often act like creeps, but they also get shit loads of sex (in most games) so I let it slide

That being said, since I'm visualizing myself as being the one having sex with them, I often do go for naming the MC after myself. Even for that 0.1% extra thrill at the girls screaming "Fuck me harder _____!"

Most games I use a character name that I created for an original character of mine "Daniel Fox"

Unless the appearance of the MC is too far removed for me to want to use it. At which case I've used generic things like Max, Jack, John. Or if it's a Honey Select game I've used the names Shiro or Tatsu.

In Fantasy settings like Long Live the Princess or Ataegina, it's Zachary.

I most cases I play lesbian games, so my own name wouldn't fit anyway. But even, in cases I play male protagonist games, I don't use my own name, neither my real name, nor the name of any of my MMORPG characters. Usually I use a name from a villain in a book I wrote, sometimes the default name from the game.

I go with default in all games that let me, if they don't i just go by Asgth and just don't read it.
If we are also talking other non H-games i go with official names whether i have to look them up or not and if there are none i go for Asgth or something to fit my build if it is a rpg like Souls or TES and sometimes read it.

Never, I just call Qwerty to every MC, there is no way you go wrong with that, and for the girls I always use default name or there isn't a default name I just use the names of the last game a played
Dvorak. It's a faster name, but you need the proper equipment...
:p

Colemak is even faster apparently! Colemak has no patience for MMP (Milking My Patrons)!
:devilish:

Qwerty does have sweaterdresses though. You can type sweaterdresses with just your left hand using Qwerty, and they usually look quite sexy on a woman. Especially the Virgin Killer variety...

Hmmm, apparently the VK sweaters are reversable too...

:p

Seriously, though, mostly I go with Wee (hence the forum name) or if appropriate Lord Wee (fantasy, etc. settings).

As in
"Weeeeeeeeeee!!! I'm playing another (update to this) game!".

Yes and no, it depends on the game.

If it is a game with lore (example: TES) then I would make a name following the rules of that world/race so to fit my character in it.

If it is a game with a default one, I simply do not bother and use the default one (which I presume is the correct one for the setting anyway, either that or it is random).

If both the cases above are wrong, I will use my real name or an alternation of it.

-edit-
I forgot to mention that if information about the character is given before having to pick a name or I can customize it freely (choosing a class, etc.) I might also give them the name from one of my D&D Characters.

Nope, I use the name of my old fantasy wrestling character. When it's a female, I use the name of my old WoW Warlock girl's name or another alt.

I always input my name if I'm given the chance.
As for the women, I leave the default one if they have it, or name then with some women names I use around

If the game has Western-style names, then I usually try to insert a version of my own name that isn't directly my own unless there's a default name. However, if the game basically has little to no Western-style names, then never.

I almost always use the same set of names in games, but it all depends on the game; if it's an incest game F/D, I'll name the daughter a variation of the father's names to fuck with things a bit. e.g. Chuck and Charlie.
