On the github, fire's last commit to the repo is a text change in one of the files 2 weeks ago. I still have my fingers crossed. The "new and improved" animations in DoL 0.4.0.9 are just so awful. Slightly better than previous vanilla animations, sure, but fire's animations are quite frankly a thousand times better. God bless them and I hope they don't abandon the project.
Totally agreed. Vanilla sprites are absolutely fucking garbage and Fire is taking his sweet time to update the mod... I'm sure it'll be worth the wait but a lot of time has passed and my interest in DOL has taken a nosedive.

You'd imagine that vrelnir and his team of devs making thousands of dollars from patreon every month would make better quality animations and sprites but they're so hilariously bad. DOL is a text adventure game with some minimalistic porn, firemod was the only redeeming thing about it.

As of today Fire has mentioned an ETA for end of July as far as when the next update will be. Please note that this is a rough estimate and is subject to change.

You should also note, that Vrel's devs are entirely unpaid volunteers contributing to an open source project, and those "thousands of dollars every month" you speak of, aren't really as much as you think. Based on his current subscriber counts, Vrel makes roughly $2,500/month after subscribestar takes their cut. That's barely enough for a single person to live off of in the cheaper areas. Depending on where you live, that won't even pay the rent. So please keep that in mind before making comments about thinking they could afford to make better animations and sprites. At the end of the day it comes down to the skill of volunteers giving whatever little time they have to contribute animations. It's easy for a single person to make a much more coherent set of animations when they have a bunch of free time and the necessary skill to do so.

Not trying to claim that what Fire's doing here is easy. It's certainly beyond my abilities. But the scale of a single artist doing whatever they like versus some ten or twenty artists all trying and failing to work together because everyone's style is different, certainly affects the end result.

Yikes... I didn't know the other devs were doing unpaid volunteer work LMAO :KEK:

I know a few other games made by single devs and yet their animations look so high quality, making less than 10% of what vrel does and meanwhile he makes $2500 every month which is certainly not a small amount of money... and yet he can't be bothered to add better visuals for DOL making it look like a 1995 flash game... or even pay someone to make it better.

I haven't played the vanilla since the release, I'm done with it until they add better sprites so I'm just waiting for Fire to update the mod so I can try it out. BTW thanks for your website, it's a godsend!

Like I said, $2,500 really depends on where you live. I live in a cheaper part of the US and that would only barely squeak by on paying rent, utilities, and food. In some other countries that's an absolute fortune, especially after the currency exchange, in most of Europe, that will barely pay rent after converting it to euros. And at the end of the day, Vrel is a writer, not an artist. and $2,500/month is not going to pay a good artist to fix up the literal thousands of sprites very fast.
There have been a few attempts to rework the sprites which failed because either the new sprites looked too young, or the artist running the project burned out, and as far as I'm aware the current "plan" is a combat rework for 0.5.x, and graphics rework for 0.6.x, However that may change.

Why thank you. I also have a Subscribestar which helps fund further development of the site, as well as to cover future infrastructure costs. Right now the features of the site, are limited by my ability to afford more capable hosting. I intend to offer more types of downloads in the near future, including automatically built APKs, as well as magnet links for those who prefer torrent downloads over standard downloads. Plus, cloud saves are a little bit of a pipe dream of mine, I have an idea how to make it happen, but the current hosting solution prevents me from even attempting to implement it.

Also, a version independent mod-merger is in the works, Would allow dolmods to host an updated version of firemod, before fire has time to update it. It doesn't work yet, but the concept is on paper, and there is some code laying the groundwork. No ETA at this time.

A couple of things in this update: I try to develop a small mod Loader that can order all canvas mods that I know of, but it can also detect and load any new mod that has a mod descriptor.

To put your own mod, you only need to place a mod.descriptor inside a folder, replace any image you want and publish the folder somewhere (preferentially inside a repository). The mod loader also supports new clothes. For example:

Notice how there are two files, one for the mod descriptor and the other as a config file for the new bikini.

To search inside the filesystem, I develop everything using .
Those who played rpgmaker may recognise. The only difference is that you will be opening a game with nw.exe instead of directly opening from your browser.
The .html is inside www/ folder and the mods are inside www/mods folder.

From firemod:
-vag horse added
-vag tentacle 1,2 and 3 are added
-vag pig added
-condoms added
-size 0 penis addded (I didn't know you could get smaller)
-double anal added

It doesn't work on mac. nwjc opens but nothing happens afterwards.

Few of the errors:
  • /macos/nwjs.app/Contents/Resources/app.nw': FILE_ERROR_NOT_FOUND: No such file or directory (2)
  • ERROR: process_reader_mac.cc(309)] thread_get_state(4): (os/kern) invalid argument (4)
  • ERROR:exception_snapshot_mac.cc(139)] exception_thread not found in task
  • ERROR:exception_ports.cc(122)] host_get_exception_ports: (os/kern) invalid argument (4)
  • ERROR:cert_verify_proc_builtin.cc(624)] No net_fetcher for performing AIA chasing.

looks like someone coded the FS access wrong for multi-system support.

Когда выйдет на андроид?
Firemod needs access to the filesystem, so I need to learn how to modify the previous Android build. No ETA atm

VMWare for windows can be modified to run macos so that would be an easy way to test.

Is there any way to run nw.exe in fullscreen? I always ran the html version in fullscreen because I find it more immersive, but I've yet to find a way to toggle fullscreen on the simplified browser that nw.exe seems to be.

Copy+paste the following into "www\Degrees of Lewdity.html" at line 12211 (make a new line under the <body> tag directly above):

Code:
<script>
// Set window to fullscreen on startup
var ngui = require('nw.gui');
var nwin = ngui.Window.get();

//nwin.enterFullscreen();

// Toggle Fullscreen--Borderless Window-Mode
nw.App.registerGlobalHotKey(new nw.Shortcut({
key: "F10",

active: function () {
nw.Window.get().toggleFullscreen();
}}));
</script>
It should look like this:

0fuDbvL3U9.png

Full screen can be toggled with F10. If you also want the game to start in full screen, you can remove the "//" (which tells your browser/nw.exe that it's "commented out", aka don't read this) before "nwin.enterFullScreen();" (line 12216).
