Hope this one turns out better than that other Andromeda game...

Actually, Andromeda is a pretty good game, if you show a little imagination. Just think, you arrive in a new, uncharted galaxy and your dad dies in the first couple hours of the game, leaving you alone with your sister, who is lying in a coma. I always imagined that we went to this new galaxy hoping that there we could love each other and raise a child without fear of being persecuted for our pure and innocent sibling love. I loved visiting her in the medical ward and imagined having sex with her.
If only there wasn't so much racism, xenophobia and intolerance.

I love sci-fi but this is really rough around the edges. Basic quality control is definitely needed here. Watching though...

Uh, no, it's completely irredeemable trash. Perhaps you didn't play it at release, but here's a quick recap :
Everyone was made out of playdough.
A bunch of the characters crab-walked, especially on stairs and ramps.
Your ship is essentially "The Not-Normandy" because the devs couldn't be creative.
Your new crew is essentially the old crew except not as good. They even have a "Not-Garrus".
You drive around in the "Not-Mako" and your onboard computer CONSTANTLY fucking bugs you about resources and shit.
The weapons are universally shit.
There were shitloads of bugs at release, and the game was only actually 70% finished.
They never bothered completing it because they figured they'd just DLC the rest of it except nobody liked the pile of shit they released so everything was scrapped and the "story" was left unfinished.

And my personal favorite : "My face is tired." - Yeah. That's some quality writing right there.

Perhaps I'm just bitter because I was a huge Mass Effect fan (until that 3 colored bullshit they tried to end the series with). I pre-ordered Andromeda as soon as I was able to and the whole thing was a big slap in the face. It doesn't deserve the ME name in my opinion. It's one of the reasons I'll never buy another BioWare game. It was truly the last nail in the coffin.

That's your problem - you're fixated on bugs and plot, yes, story-wise the game is weak. However, a dead father and sister in a coma was enough for me to enjoy it, my imagination got the rest job done.
Anyway, I got the game from the torrent in retaliation for the NTR in part three .
I did enjoy the gameplay though, the combaat was good and comfortable, I also liked the class features and equipment upgrades, the only thing that frustrated me was the identical robot worm bosses on each planet, they could have made them a little different.

No BioWare, you're NOT tricking me again!
Yes, it was all a trick, and unending episode that kept replaying again and again with no changes. Each step only reminded you of Groundhog day, yet it actually was the Stargate copy to that movie. All orchestrated by Bio-Ware just for you.lol

Critique points
-IMO the story will need better pacing, it all feels very hectic atm
-Some texts get cut off, especially noticeable in ch.4
-Holy crap, first alien lifeform found and it is hidden on the holodeck!
Srsly, the onsen girls face is downright terrifying.

Otherwise looking forward to see how it develops

I'm a big fan of military sci-fi, so I have really happy to see this game here. Unfortunately as others wrote, there are a lot of rough edges to say the least. More like, there is a military setting, but the dialogues and behavior of the characters go against everything you would expect from military personnel.

Ayaka and Alma are already being set up as LI-s for the MC even though they are below him in his direct chain of command.
The visit of a local governor should be an official event, MC dresses in his uniform accordingly, but everyone else who is escorting him should also dressed in uniform except it's explained somehow.

The handling of the pirate girl was also laughable. MC released her from prison based on just on the word of another pirate. It's not like he planned to execute the others and had to find something else to do with her. He already decided to give the pirates over to the police at their next stop one day later.

I also have some minor problems with the "science" part. The Timurians are 160k ly away according to the game. That's already outside of the Milky Way. From what I've seen from the game, the exploration and colonization of the galaxy should be in a relatively early stage. No other alien species was mentioned who the humans have contact with. It's very strange the first species humanity get's in contact with other than the enemy is so far away.

It was mentioned that it would take 50k jumps to get there. Even if there is a jump gate half way as it was explained it would still take 20k jumps to reach it. One jump took several hours based on how MC had time to "watch porn" during their first jump. (Which was the first thing he did as soon as they were on the way!) Even if they do 5 jumps per day, it would take over 10 years just to get to the gate, so the whole mission doesn't make much sense. At least the people don't behave like someone who just learned they won't see Earth again for at least 20 years.

I think a good source material for the dev to see how to write some more believable military sci-fi setting would be the Lost fleet from Jack Campbell, even though proper military behavior would stop any potential sex between MC and other military personnel so he would have to find some way to work around that.

Are there any good Mililtary Sci-fi games here? All the ones I can think of think the "Military" bit means "They've got guns lolol" and stop here, like Oppai Odyssey where you sell out the location of Earth for a footjob... At least with Melatonin Magiks the comedy is intentional.

Okay, I decided to give it a try cause I love scifi. Author, if you're reading this, here's a suggestion:

- At times, it was very hard to keep reading because of the lack of punctuation, more specifically commas. There are so many run- ons I personally struggled to follow the dialogue in some portions of the game.
For example: "Because of how dire the situation is command has authorized a mission to the planet Timur located in the Timur system about 160,000 Light Years from Earth"
Try instead: "Because of how dire the situation is, command has authorized a mission to the planet Timur, located in the Timur system and about 160,000 Light Years from Earth".

I hope you don't get discouraged and continue with this, wish you the best of lucks.

Andromeda 0.4.5 Release

Hello everyone, finally after a combination of being too busy to work on the game and computer issues 0.4.5 of Andromeda is finally being released.
Starting with this release I plan to include an Android release, assuming it doesn't become to much of a pain to manage. I have not tested it to ensure that it works or that it works well.

Changelog:
  • Added an Encyclopedia (A new save is probably a good idea if you want to maximize compatibility going forward but I did add checks in this update to unlock the earlier entries if you choose not to do so and a quick test run didn't run into any obvious issues)
  • 136 images
  • 7 animations
  • 1400+ lines of Code (dialogue, etc.)
Edit (7/13/2022): I fixed some bugs that I found while working on 0.5 and have uploaded the corrected files. However I forgot to remove the content for 0.5 from these updated releases, but I don't want to re-upload the files again after removing the accidentally included new content and do the links yet again so it is included in this release, oops. That content is far from completed, with only about 70 lines of code and a few images that aren't quite final. So long as you don't modify any of the files you shouldn't run into this content but I still wanted to provide a heads up.

Maybe "through spacetime"
