They will definitely try to subdue MC and not just them, but the final decision will be in the hands of the player, as I think it should be. The player should decide how he wants to play and experience the events that happen in the game.
Thank you very much for the kind wishes, I hope you enjoy the game :)
by final decision, do you mean to either have sex with them or not, or to be passive or dominate )do i want to be fucked, or fuck them)?

The short answer is, everything you mentioned.
The long answer is, as the new guy in the city, MC can't just walk in there and boss everyone around. He has to become someone first, but other people aren't going to just sit around and wait for that to happen, they have desires too. So they will act on their desires and the MC's final decision is how he reacts to them and what he will or will not do for them. So, lewd scenes will be more interactive than they were in v0.1 and they are available to everyone, just don't act submissive during them if you don't want to be submissive or skip them if you are not interested in them.

You know what, I respect dev's decision to put original faces in his game. Of course, like many people here I don't find them attractive but it was ballsy to do a porn game with quite reluctant faces on purpose tbh. I salute that.
Hope it won't be a problem for patreon since in general people support games because of appealing characters. However if you want to change the faces one day for some reason, I think it's very possible to make them more attractive without altering too much the shape of the face, and thus the personnality of the character.

I'm not going to lie, even if I respect that it prevents me a little from really enjoying the game.
You know, I like futanari and I'm curious : are there normal looking futas in this game or are they all like the Mortal Kombat inspired character, with four arms and a monster look ?

This looks like an interesting game, but there seems to be a really large amount of systems and that usually means there will be slow development and the finished product will be annoying to most players.
I'm not down to play meter management simulator in bizarro world.

My interest is piqued though, though I'm doubly disappointed given my above comment and the lack of futa being currently in the game.

I spent a long time creating those characters, so it wasn't my intention to make them look ugly :) And honestly, I can't find anything ugly about them, but maybe that's my bias?! When you look at something for too long, you just start to like it, so maybe that's why I'm not seeing what you're seeing? Hopefully the new characters in v0.2 will be better looking, I spent even more time on them. I made them with less manly jaws, but you know, some of them will still have those characteristics, but probably not as pronounced.

I think patrons don't just support people based on their ability to create beautiful characters, but rather the experience and enjoyment they have with the game. And I think a lot of people can appreciate the hard work put into the game, even if you are not good at some aspects. Everything is a skill that you have to learn and master. This is my very first game, I'm learning a lot from it and hopefully improving my character creation skills as well.

You know, I like futanari and I'm curious : are there normal looking futas in this game or are they all like the Mortal Kombat inspired character, with four arms and a monster look ?
I already explained it (well, Gaiid explained it) in the game, Jaaga is very unique and the only one in the game. So no, the other futas will be normal looking girls.

I've already addressed this concern in my first post:
The mechanics aren't there to punish players, but rather as a game cycle. A bit of realism, more engaging dialogues and character reactions. This game is in it's core a visual novel, so dialogues plays very crucial role in the game. And there's a lot more mechanics and stuff than you've already seen in v0.1, just wait and see and don't worry too much about it, I'll add multiple ways to deal with those things.

And as for your second concern, I'm making this game with an OOP approach, not procedural, so it won't slow down development at all. In fact, as I'm working on the game now, most of these mechanics/systems are already implemented and as I already mentioned they aren't here to punish people or make them play management simulator. They are there to make the game, and especially the people in it, feel more alive.
Just wait for v0.2, you will see how the mechanics/systems work in practice and there will also be futa content.

This game sets up a lot of interesting mechanics, and the premise, while seemingly a bit bare, actually lends itself extremely well to this type of content, and isn't one I've seen before.

Definitely keeping my eye on this one.

Not to be harsh, but these choices being made with "making a gameplay cycle" or "realism" in mind shows your aims, but doesn't provide an explanation of fit.

VN's, especially pornographic ones, don't need artificial motivational reinforcement in order to shepherd player behavior towards their goals if the characters are endearing/attractive. If a player likes X character they should be able to pursue X character by consistently interacting with X character. Anything in the way will seem like just that, something in the way. Regardless of the aims, nearly every plate you add to spin will be an annoyance unless it is consistently tied to scene variance, and even then it will likely still be an annoyance.

Moreover any meter management game worth its salt will eventually afford the player the ability to surpass the need to manage at least some of the meters as lategame rewards. Not that I think you can't include this as well. But in order to make the meters matter and be escapable at once, the amount of minigame chores that need doing to escape meter management hell becomes precipitously higher. Im talking sidequests, secrets, and comically large purchases etc. otherwise these meters will seem vestigial.

I'm sure the 'divine mouthwash' etc could be made simple to acquire without cheapening the overall layout, but the same can't be said of many others. And without at least some release valve I really think these will just be excruciating to dance around with.

I feel like you put a label on the game and now you're saying the game is outside the boundaries of that label. To me a game is about fun and that means playing the game, engaging in it, interacting, getting reactions, influencing events, building/caring for something/someone, learning and character growth. The game is meant to be played and it doesn't really matter if the game genre is for adults or not. If you just want to see lewd scenes, then I see no point to play the game, you can simply watch videos that are designed for this purpose. I know, many players expect something from these types of games based on their experience from previous games they've played. So I understand why there is so much concern about the mechanics of the game, but every single mechanic in the game only matters to a certain extent.

Just like in The Sims, there are a lot of meters right from the start, but later in the game you literally stop thinking about them, because the game isn't about those mechanics, they're just there for a bit of realism and they only matter up to a point. The beginning of the game is supposed to be a bit harder and as you play you slowly improve and the meters will matter less and less. I can assure you that the game will not be a tease, if you actually play it. And you don't become a god with tons of money or buy some "divine mouthwash" or whatever.

Everything in the game has a purpose and I really spent a long time thinking about how and why I want something in the game. It might not be obvious or used right away, but it's there as a basis for something in the future. Like when Gaiid mentioned the arena, I want the arena to be in the game at some point.

I understand, it's much harder to explain something in words than to just show what I mean. Most of the time words are not understood as they were intended. I guess I'd rather say, please wait until v0.2 comes out, everything will be clearer. I don't want to reveal what exactly will be there or spoil anything, but I feel like the things I'm trying to explain in words will become pretty obvious when you actually play a new game update.

Any ETA for the 0.2 for the patreons? I will join closer to the release

I'm interested, but as long as there are multiple detections as possible malware on virustotal it's a non-starter for me. Ain't nobody got time to set up a VN to run it in just to be safe/er/ish.

Every Monday I write about my progress on the game on patreon for all patrons. All the information is there and even if it's difficult to estimate the release, knowing what's finished and what's still missing, you can at least get an idea.

I don't have experience with VirusTotal, but if I'm reading it correctly, the analysis found nothing, but for some reason it marked the game file as malicious. It can be a False Positive, no tool is 100% reliable.
The build was built directly by Ren'Py and I did absolutely nothing to the file after the build. As the creator of the game, I can give you my word, there is no virus in the file. And if you don't believe me, the game has more than 1600 downloads and till date no one has reported that the file contains a virus.

Hi guys,

I want to go back to the topic some of you brought up about the masculine looking jaws of the female characters. I did a lot of research on this topic. I saw many pictures of real, 3D, fantasy, even hand drawn female characters and I finally (and hopefully) see where the problem is. I made a few changes, not that big, but just to make them look more feminine and not change the face too much. I'll give you images here so you can compare the differences. I hope these changes improve the experience of playing the game.

I didn't really have a huge issue with them before, but I will say that the decrease in definition adds a good amount of femininity to their face, while still maintaining the original aesthetic.

If these mechanics start mattering less and less, and aren't important, and it's a character focused romance game then it seems utterly indistinguishable from what I described as being the end goal of most romance VN meter management games that have come before this.

But again, regardless of how you label it, managing the meters will not be fun with a VN framework even if you want the audience to conceive of it differently.

Neopets was a site full of minigames. They all sucked so hard they felt like a chore universally, especially considering the points were the real reason to play any of them.
Every visual novel minigame I have ever played has felt strictly worse and more chorelike than even the lowest of what neopets had to offer. Because they are chores that are in the way, and they are massively limited by the medium.

VN's are not fun. They can be engaging or compelling or hot. But they can't be properly actually 'fun' even when exciting for the same reason books can't be properly actually 'fun'.
In a book I might be on the edge of my seat, I might be biting my nails. But I'm not having the same entertainment experience I have when playing and winning a compelling actual game.

You would be the very first ever person to pull off a truly properly 'fun' VN game if this actually worked the way you wanted it to and the minigames were that good, and further you'd somehow be pulling it off while having this """fun""" be in the way of pornography.

I don't think it's impossible, Persona managed to make it's romantic visual novel fun by making it only 10% RVN and 90% jrpg. Because that made it a JRPG.
I just think the likelihood that people are going to be happy to manage their mouth stink meter in a game where sucking cock is a reward is pretty low.

No amount of desired labeling changes this, only an entire shift in medium can change it.
And if porn exists at all in the game it will always induce frustration to be hours of platespinning away from the porn even if done supernaturally well.

I was worried that when I edited them they would lose their features and change the face too much, but I really like the results and I'm very glad that you let me know that I've reached my goal :)

Still stuck on labels? The game isn't a character focused romance. There's no meters, no variables that calculates how high a romance or affection or whatever you have with a character and based on that you end up with that character. The game is about fun, enjoyment and player choices. Almost everything will be optional, so you as the player choose your own fun.

And I chose Ren'Py as a game engine, because it suits the needs of the game, not because I wanted to make a VN. I could have chosen another engine, but Ren'Py already has everything in it, so what would be the point?!

I've never heard of Neopets before, but they seem to be still running, so I guess some people enjoy them. And I know how annoying some of the minigames can be, so I decided to make them optional and not core to the game. In other words, you can play the game completely without touching the minigames.

VN's are not fun. They can be engaging or compelling or hot. But they can't be properly actually 'fun' even when exciting for the same reason books can't be properly actually 'fun'.

Decision making, consequences, interactions, reactions, character growth, improving, caring, learning, quests, achievements, minigames, scenes and more. Well, you never considered the possibility of not dealing with it at all. The game doesn't stop just because MC has bad breath, you'll just get a different feeling from it.

There's no single game in the world that is considered to be for everyone, and this is especially true of adult games, they are very focus specific. If you're only playing these games for the lewd scenes, you'll probably be disappointed most of the time, because creators put a lot of time and effort into their games and want to create something, not just deliver. There are definitely creators who deliver scenes month after month, but this is my first game and I want to make a game, not just a porn compilation.

Overview:
Alterlife is a game about starting a new life in a new place. This new life provides many different opportunities, different choices, and many different sexual fetishes. You play as a male protagonist who didn't live his old life very well and often made pretty bad decisions that lead him to a dead end. In his most desperate moment, he met Kyle, who told him about a place away from everyone and everything, full of beautiful women, where one can start a new life with a clean slate. Tempted by this possibility, he agreed to be taken to this place. Kyle gave him new clothes and took him by boat to this place.

The game is about fun, enjoyment and player choices. Almost everything will be optional, so you as the player choose your own fun.
The meters in the pejorative 'meter management game' are the the mouth stink system, the you are too willfull/will-less to do or not do this, etc. that theoretically stand in the way of romantic progression.

And I chose Ren'Py as a game engine, because it suits the needs of the game, not because I wanted to make a VN. I could have chosen another engine, but Ren'Py already has everything in it, so what would be the point?!
To avoid making the game have the superstructure of a visual novel game, which Renpy near guarantees. If Renpy really suits the needs of the game, it sounds a lot like the game needs the same support a visual novel needs.

I've never heard of Neopets before, but they seem to be still running, so I guess some people enjoy them. And I know how annoying some of the minigames can be, so I decided to make them optional and not core to the game. In other words, you can play the game completely without touching the minigames.
Myspace 'still exists' too, and if you haven't heard of Neopets considering it's former popularity, you've proved my point.
Regardless, if the minigames are truly not in the way of romantic content then the tutorial explaining them lied, but I'm glad to hear it.

Like I said, I'm making a game, not a VN. I want players to actually do something, not just read a story. Decision making, consequences, interactions, reactions, character growth, improving, caring, learning, quests, achievements, minigames, scenes and more. All of this will be in the game, so I can't properly call it a VN even though I'm doing it with a VN engine or VN typical GUI style.
Everything you mentioned is overwhelmingly common/mandatory to VN's except the minigames, which are still quite common to them.
A VN having minigames does not somehow prevent it from being a VN, so I really don't know why you would want to resist a label that fits so accurately considering you have the same goals as a visual novel and are using a visual novel engine/format.

Well, you never considered the possibility of not dealing with it at all. The game doesn't stop just because MC has bad breath, you'll just get a different feeling from it.
If the feeling is missing sex scenes or not progressing a relationship, then that's the problem in question. Otherwise it will be a source of funny commentary, which I certainly wouldn't mind.

No game should have the goal of being for everyone, that's certainly true. But a Renpy game focused on minigames to manage meters that don't matter, but also has porn, doesn't sound like a game that is particularly for anyone.
If you just want to shove a bunch of stuff into your porn VN game as side projects to practice making them for the hell of it, then go ahead, but know that there are dangers...

Legends tell of a porndev that become so ADD paralyzed by the possibility of the tangled net of his demi-porn Frankenstein RPGmaker game that he spent 7 years working on just it and it alone, and for the last four updates took 15 months for each one.
After apologizing/unapologizing, banning/shadowbanning, hemorrhaging fans, and apologizing and promising better all anew, he still "works" on it till this very day... at that exact same pace.
