I shared some creations by Midjourney to a client based on her project spec (after a bit of tweaking), and she was blown away. After some joking about losing my job, she was interested in how we could use it together going forward. In general, a lot of clients are just mentally comfortable with dealing with people, and having someone deal with the entire workload from start to finish seems easier for them. Now if these bots are able to intelligently integrate artwork into predefined layouts, that'd be another game changer. Either I'd become obsolete, or I'd be able to bill clients without doing any grunt work myself.

I've been thinking of making a game of my own using AI assets, because I could never actually pay an artist. I've beenthinking of "splitting the difference" using the AI art as "placeholders" so that the people can see the game works and then gradually replacing them with art by an artist (whether AI assisted or not), as time goes by. I've noticed that a lot of suspicion for new games these days is: yeah, you'll have a bunch of art, but the game itself will never be finished.

That being said, The real barrier is probably going to be people interacting--remember this isn't actually "AI" and it doesn't even know what a person is. Now google is creating prompt-to-prompt which lets you define certain parts of the art. (the lady in red) and either have them stay the same, or focus changes on them. Also, I knew at least two artists who have done some really nice work sketching apose in and then using image-2-image, but in terms of getting what you want, every panel, no, so for now I expect people who use it will do a lot of touch up or just tell readers to expect random hair style changes.

As long as consistency between multiple images and precise control over details are important current AI is nowhere near replacing humans artists. It can be amazing at creativity, variety of colors and textures, but the lack of refinement or understanding undermines the potential.

Even if AI art continues to improve and manages to compete with actual artists in the future, still, this incredible tool will be best used by artists themselves who understand the usefulness of each element and have the vision to plan something visually impressive, standing out of the crowd of unskilled users.

I know a few artists who say that they finally have the tool to defeat forests, and other complex backgrounds, their old enemy. And now that we've got prompt to prompt coming out, the ability to keep a character consistent over several iterations is growing.

About maintaining consistency between images, we may not be that far from it:

Well it's finally happened. AI generated art is just vastly superior to whatever humans can draw, never mind the artists who make porn games lmao.

What do you all think will be the implications this has on video games here and better yet, how will patreon milkers manage to maintain their 5 month update output?
Why aren't you creating your own "AI generated art" game if it's that easy?
The answer is too obvious.

Art created by AI could be a powerful tool for when you need a less detailed image. A fellow developer on the forum gave me the idea to create game backgrounds with AI. And it could also be used to create reference images for the artist. But I don't think that AI will take over the job of a good artist. They also told us that programmers would be replaced by AI, but until now there is only more and more need for them.

I am not an artist, nor am I a programmer, but I like to write. An AI writing tool could generate many unique ideas for me, which I then use as inspiration.

I'd gladly welcome and appreciate any AI-generated art or project, but there is no point in pretending or even speculate that AI logic can surpass the abstract human mind in terms of creativity and sensibility.

AI-assisted art is something I'd be more optimistic about, but not generated...

My game is going pretty well so far, but yeah, it can be quite difficult to generate pictures for specific characters.

If someday a machine comes and tells me it wants to "kill himself because life has no meaning", only then, I might consider the possibility that an AI can understand what art is. :ROFLMAO:

Still, it will definitely get to a point eventually where this will be an issue eventually. "AI is going to take your job" has been on the horizon for a lot of different fields for a long time now.
I wouldn't have believed it even when I was 14 years old.

1850: OMG !!! Photography will kill the painting profession !!!

1900 OMG !!! Cartoon will kill the painting profession !!!

1950 OMG !!! Television will kill the painting profession !!!

2000 OMG !!! Video games will kill the painting profession !!!

2050 OMG !!! AI will kill the painting profession !!!

'understand' is not about art, dude.

I was bored yesterday, so I trained an SD 1.5 model with Emiru pics, for science of course. Here's some of the results (RAW output, no photoshop):

I also tried some.

Could write a long thesis. But lets just say that the only ones who should worry for now are those people whose only source of income in random comission of individual character's portraits.

An example of a pic I got without that much effort at all.

Super generic character who looks kind of 'sexy':

Still when it is about designing a character with unique traits and keep using it for a comic, graphic novel, game, etc... There's a long way until any AI can surpass human pros.

Instead of Roko's Basilisk torturing us all for eternity, we are doomed to draw porn for eternity instead as compensation.

The biggest concern is for smaller and learning artist here.

People forget there are still many artists doing small time commissions for OC design, pinups, fanfictions, etc. It's a common beginner phase for artists and now AI generated work is getting better I would imagine small studio or even individual people would rather use AI generated art tools rather than spending extra on commissions. Imagine this, name your most favorite or famous artist, they don't do commissions but you want your stuff to be drawn based on the artist style, and all you had to do is to dump the reference, tweak it a little bit on the software and and the AI will do the job for you (I've seen some of the result and the program is getting better and better). If you already an accomplished artist it wouldn't been much of a problem since you probably hired and in a "safe" position.

As for the learning artist themself, it could be really discouraging to see Ai can do something better than what they've been practicing for years. Now you don't need to learn how to draw to make art. Forget anatomy, perspective, color theory, everyone can be an expert. Some "artist" already make thousands on fanbox doing AI generated works. I would imagine the this could've been abusable in the future where as people couldn't tell the difference no more which one is Ai generated and which one is drawn by human. Cheaters doing traced art can be spotted easily, but not so much with Ai since it can "copy" your style and generate randomness.

I know this goes back to the whole decade old mindset of "digital art kills traditional art" thing which is proven not true for the most part, but there is a BIG difference between tools that help you draw easier than tools that just straight up make instantaneous results. Musicians suffer the most from this as you don't need real musicians anymore to make music and could pretty much replicate any instruments from your computer at your own comfort.

I like posts where people explain their minds in this clear way (y)

Neverthless I don't agree with it, but that's ok. Still let me explain.

About tracing being cheating.... totally a biased opinion. Real pros understand that one of the most important factors to deal with in order to create outstanding works is... time efficiency. And thus they created all sorts of personal short-comings/tricks/tools for their craft, which sometimes also include tracing.

Not only this is a thesis as stated in the but also some authors have been more open about it as for example, mangaka Hiroya Oku, author of Gantz and others. Here an example. There are more examples about his work around the net:

Gantz_v01c10p216.jpg

In this sense there's an interesting manifesto called which is really interesting to read. I recommend it.

Anyways, as you said, digital art didn't kill traditional art, and AI will not kill any of the previous ways of doing things. They will just be there together.

I found out about this kind of art some days ago and I've seen some awesome works. Personally I've always wanted to create porn art but don't have the time to learn an entire craft like drawing, I'd rather spend my time coding.

By the way, I'm open to suggestions on what are the best AI software to make erotic or porn pictures, just for fun :)
