Kinda topical.

The creator of MucchiMucchi is pissed at Kagura guys for taking their sweet ass time and says he'll never work with them again. Kagura seems to work in mysterious ways: it's been only 3 months since the announce of Scarlet Kishin and the translation is already coming out, while been gathering dust for 1,5 years now.

It looks sort of like they have several teams working on various projects. Where some of their teams suck balls & others don't.
Heck, in this particular comparison it's more like they're outsourcing projects to external contractors that just don't come through. Otherwise it still makes no sense.

But let's face it ... the game has a JPN release and maybe gets some hype behind it. People, even us in the West, see the game pop up in the DlSite feed and perhaps even make TL Request threads, etc.
But now, after 1,5 years ... who even remembers the game exists anymore? How many have just gone and MTooled it?

Out of mind, out of heart ya know.
Sure, we'll get a reminder that it exists again when Kagura posts their release, but still. A TL project, professional & full-time ... really shouldn't take THAT long.
Say it takes 1000 hrs to TL a somewhat large game (which is likely giving them waaaaay too much leeway), but whatever ... around 1K hours ... that's 2 people working for about 3 months @40H/week.

Especially if the uncensored materials are delivered by the original author and not some seperate artist at Kagura, which could be a bottleneck if let's say they only have one or 2 of those guys.

--------
Alternatively, it could also be that he's just in the back of the queue and didn't question Kagura as to when they would even start translating it.
In that case, maybe they haven't even lifted a finger for that game yet.

Though that's something he shouldn't neglect to negotiate when signing any contract like this.

Oh wow... someone's finally getting pissed at them for that... Amazing. Has any other circle/studio had that reaction though?

Well... Hm... If I think about it. No Future only gave them the Sailor Splendor game, and then never gave them a game ever again... and their latest game, Heroine Chord, came out with an English translation that's fairly decent about 2-3 days after the JP release. So it's possible that they had a similar reaction... but I'm not scouring their ci-en for it.

Acerola has been suspiciously quiet about further English releases too, now that I think about it... Sure, Kagura had a decent track record for their recent games, but Melissa is still gathering dust to this date...

At the end of the day, Kagura always went for either low hanging fruit (games that already had fan-translations) or for what seemed to generate the most interest and thus profit. It's why most of Acerola's games and ONEONE1's games came out fairly fast for their sizes (they all have fuck-huge amounts of text...). MUCHIMUCHI sold ~14k copies in all this time. Compared to 16k+ in less than 6 months for even their weak releases... (cough*Vulvadia*cough), there's absolutely no competition.

Either way, it's pretty clear that Kagura is heading faster and faster into the asshole phase of a corporation's life-cycle...

Gyu was rather annoyed on ci-en too last year, since Knights was taking forever and ever, constantly getting delayed after Gyu posted expected release windows.
Of course that game turned out to be an unplayable mess of a crashfest, so meh ... as far as I'm concerned that game never released.

Thanks for the Update Daedroth

while been gathering dust for 1,5 years now.
Funny considering that 1,5 years isnt even that long by Kaguras standards.

and says he'll never work with them again
Sadly its only a net loss for the customer I assume. Kagura has by far the best sales. Once a game is translated by DLsite, for example sells a couple hundred copies on DLsite, a lot of devs will refrain from translating future works I assume.

Has any other circle/studio had that reaction though?
I know that Zevens dev mentionend for several YEARS now how zeven is "actually" gonna release this year. Last time I read about it he simply switched to saying he dosent know. Wouldnt be suprised if he's pissed at kagura aswell. Tbh its kinda a joke, rude to the devs they partnered with, rude to their fans and customers and all in all just really fucking unprofesional.
The least they should do is give the reason for the extreme delays for the likes of Zeven and Melissa.

You guys DO know that loli & shota stuff is generally banned here right. Most of those links are either showing some loli or are even fully centered around shota/loli content.

There HAVE been exceptions. Sure enough the rule is somewhat random at times, but still ... don't get your hopes up it would stay uploaded for long if it were to be TL'ed.
For anybody hoping/waiting for the game thread for kishin to show up ... it won't. It's been killed off for shota content.
For now though, it seems like discussion's heated up in the TL Request thread instead, so head on over there while it lasts.

Updated the OP. New Puppeteer patch. Changelog is on my patreon or here.

Almost done with Chris. In fact, I finished translating all the maps related to the ending and final boss a couple of days ago. But there's still some stuff to do, like dealing with the flashback room and pop-up text, translating captive quests' images and proofreading. But I'm confident that it'll be done before this year ends.

Updated the OP. Picked up another game (don't worry, it's gonna be a quick one). Added a patch for it which translates the entire first chapter.

Was the game you picked up Silly Girls Quest? Super hyped about seeing a translation for that. Thanks and wishing you good luck for the new years!

Well sure, like I said ... recent track record.

The cliché of Melissa or something ever seeing the light of day is likely not gonna change any time soon either.
E.g. the stuff they announced years and years ago that still hasn't come out is likely not gonna come out any time soon.

Welp, about Demon Queen Melissa, they're finally releasing it pretty soon (Along with two other games, one on the 14th and one on the 28th (First time i think three games released back to back like that) :

But yeah, shouldn't have taken this long for them to release it, when did they announce they would translate it again ? Can't even find it on kagura website since they remade it so yeah but i remember it's been years at least.

Hope through the latest game of Acerola (Prison Lust in MTL Trad if i remember correctly) is gonna be translated because damn it looks amazing, with that live2D to add.

Azur Azerites game is finished now. But not yet on dlsite.
Yeah, saw it. He's waiting for an e-mail from dlsite which supposedly will have a set release date. Hopefully, we won't have to wait for too long.

Btw, since last tl update, I translated all gramps-related content. Dialogues and a couple of scenes. I'll transfer my partial as soon as it comes out.
