You must first understand what the blackout is used for in movies. Blackouts are a carry-over from theater, and were often an indicator that an act has ended and it was time to applaud. In movies, blackouts serve to book-end a movie. Some movies only use it at the end. At most, they are used to indicate major passages of time, major changes in beat, or at the end of a sequence that is meant to be the end of the movie-equivalent of an "act". Abusing the blackout is aesthetically jarring and makes your film language incoherent. There's a reason why the sex scene between Leonidas and his wife in "300" is the laughingstock of sex scenes... at the heart of it was an absolutely clueless abuse of blackouts.

A lot of the scenes you use blackouts in would have been transitioned on a real movie script as "cut to". Blacking out to merely change angle or to move time forward superficially (something you do a lot... first minute into the new update, you're already doing it) both unnecessarily extends minor, filler scenes, it reduces the impact of the blackout properly used and is disruptive of your flow and pacing.

So, I took notice of this game at 0.1 and I was intrigued by the game but decided to postpone my try of it until now. First of all the game is gorgeous all of the pictures are amazing and I'm very impressed I saw a a lot of games but none had such good quality. Secondly, the writing is good and not what I was expecting, I saw some comets that were talking about this game as Dual Family 2.0 and I can see why, the lack of sexual content can turn some people of and tedious progression of the plot is a problem in both games but due to good writing in this game the slow advancement feels right, as for Dual Family the writing is not good and the slow progression is irritating. Finally, I think this game has a lot of promise and I'll be looking to future updates.

Looks like the new version is already out here, however. Let's clarify briefly a few things about this version and the further story because there are again many clairvoyants out here who knows everything better than I do about this game!

1) For the Good Wife path it was actually planned that Sophia will experiment a few things with her husband. With the oral sex scene and Sophia's reactions on mouth-creampie and deepthroat, I tried to imply, that her behavior to this could change later! I mean, why shouldn't it? How do you come to the conclusion that this won't happen? You don't need the filthy points for that because Sophia will do that as a Good Wife! Filthy points are more like cheating points and finding other ways "to get some fun"! Sophia can also get filthy in love for her hubby!

2) Lesbian Temptation is indeed a little different. (SPOILER WARNING): Currently it was planned that Sophia can discover her bi side and talk with her husband later about her new feelings. Maybe even get a threesome as a Good Wife with some girl(friend).

3) About swimming and that 18 years old can't swim: I don't know how it is in other countries but in Germany where I live, every 4th adult can't swim at all or only very bad, according to DLRG (german lifesaving association)! You've never seen a movie where adults fall in water and shouting "help, I can't swim!"???
And Dylan and Sam had swimming courses in elementary school. So they actually can swim a little bit but just need to remember again how.

5) In this version are 502 renders! So, no, I didn't become lazy. I can't believe how many people just don't think about to maybe try some different ways (decisions).

It's also very alarming, how many players don't see all the fine hints for possible future events, spread over the whole game yet (probably because they're just clicking like hell through the images to find some "lewd stuff")

Here a short overview about the events in vers. 0.03 (SPOILER WARNING):
1) Sophia returns from her job and talks with Alyssa on phone about gym later. Sophia can accept or decline and Alyssa won't call her ever again!
2) Sophia talks with Dylan in his room about his problems with his history teacher (the hot teacher Sophia met in vers. 0.025!). Sophia notices a bruise at his eyebrow. Then Sophia can tickle with him to cheer him up and they accidentally touch each other at private spots.
3) Swimming Lesson: here the best way is to stay in the shirt first. Then Sophia will fall into the water and the boys will see her underwear. Sophia can get filthy points if she ignores how they stare at her. Sam watches behind Sophia when she leaves and then he talks with Dylan about that, who seems a little pissed of about how his buddy was staring at his mom.
Sophia will change into her monokini anyway. Then she'll jump into the water and the boys will swim to her one by one.
If you got enough relationship points with Sam then they will hold themselves and talk. Dylan will have the possibility to intervene or stay quiet and watch them talking intimately. This will have an effect on the story (and on Dylan) later!
After seeing Sam and his mom, Dylan gets jealous and try to press himself close to his mom's breasts though he can swim now (You'll see that, if Sophia has not enough points with Sam and pressing him away. Then Dylan swims to her normally and don't clutch at her!)
4) Sophia will drive to the grocery store if she refused to go to gym with Alyssa
5) Sophia and Alyssa practicing together in gym. Alyssa tells Sophia about her boyfriend, who plays basketball in her college.
Sophia gets the possibility to flirt with Alyssa, touch her butt and squeeze it. All this gives her lesbian points.
4+5) If she has more good wife than filthy points, she will remember to call Liam and tell him about the opera tickets.
6) Good wife evening: Liam returns early from work. Sophia will go with him to the opera (a very ambitious opera scene with up to 22 very different characters in one image!)
Returning home, Liam will try to seduce Sophia. You will get the chance to play as Sophia and dominate Liam or play as Liam and dominate Sophia.
This entire "Good Wife evening activity" has got 213 renders!
7) Filthy evening: Sophia talks with Ellie in the living room. Liam returns back from work very late and just wants to hit the pillow.

But of course if some people just run through the game as fast as possible without even try some different ways, then of course it's very short! By the way, I tried myself to play the longest filthy path of 0.03 by just clicking every images away. I needed almost 5 minutes! So I guess you easily need about 15, if you read the text and enjoy some renders for at least 2 seconds!

Either way, from now on I'll try my best to make some events of the next days quicker with less renders, to speed things up finally and get to the main events.

Best Advice I have for you is keep the branching to absolute minimum. Just 2 paths of good and bad wife if you want it.

...while I agree that the current rate of progress is problematic, I *strongly* disagree with notion that he should basically try to turn his game into a book with (a lot of) pictures. Imo, branching is *essential* to have this stay -you know- a game. If he just wanted to tell a story, the comic format would be a much better fit.

I think he should instead try to put his renders to better use. He's actually a *very* efficient dev. Over 500 renders for the last update! One can definitely work with that and support a branching story. E.g. EvaKiss has a lot less new images per update and she manages to make it work brilliantly. Imo L&P is still wasting too much effort on mundane things that could simply be told via text instead of using valuable renders for it.

Your game is more of a interactive story anyway rather than game - and it is ok to be like that !

He still should aspire to let the story branch if it makes sense. Imo we shouldn't end up with a binary Sophia that is either a good wife or the "town bicycle" (with added or missing lesbian component). There need to be nuanced paths.

Most ambitious branching games either use 2D graphics (GGGB) or static backgrounds and repeated figures (Katie's Corruption). They are extremely well done (especially GGGB) and offer hours of game play because of hidden nuances in the disparate paths.

Attempting to create anything remotely similar using full 3D rendering and unique backgrounds might be considered a Sisyphean effort. It simply may not be able to be done.

But I am glad someone is attempting.

Yes, L&P may end up taking his entire youth completing this game. Yes, the development and story arc may frustrate "lewd content" players. But, if it's what he wants to do, I support him (literally) fully.

Just found this one and only done up to the start of day 3 in detail (though tabbed through to the end).
There are going to be so many haters of this one, all I would say if you want a decent amount of sex come back about version 7 or 8. If you like an indepth story, this may be for you.
I think some of the writing is a little overdone, could be trimmed back a little, however....

My other critisism is the size. 2.5 Gb? The compressed version is ~484 Mb.
Dreaming of Dana, when I 1st downloaded it around V0.8 was 9Gb O.O....the latest version (0.99) came in at 1.7Gb. This will be a stopper for me since I found out that it's not actually necassary for the size to be so big.

But overall, if anyone is happy with delayed gratification, I'd recommend having a look at this.
