Now if you bothered to actually read the whole conversation, you would have found this following post of mine, and you wouldn't have felt the need to get all defensive. Now if you did read it and still got defensive, then maybe there's something worth being defensive about after all?

Not really a good excuse now, is it? I'm not saying that what OP has done is unforgivable, I wouldn't even be here if that were the case, so your attempts at a blind defense are not only sad, but unnecessary too.

Respectfully, this level of perfectionism is a little concerning. While that level of attention to detail is nice for the end product, so is the ability to be able to look at something you've created and say: despite a couple flaws, this is good enough, and I'm proud of this and willing to let other people experience it. There's some quote I wish I could remember correctly about artists never being finished a painting, they just decide when to stop working on it. Delaying an intended monthly release four days because of a detail most people won't notice feels like it might be on the wrong side of that line. Sure, with the obsession to detail some people in this thread follow, there's the likelihood that someone would have mentioned it. Maybe even spun a conspiracy theory out of it. But is that even necessarily a bad thing?ONLY two pages since I was here! *is hugely disappointed!*
Righties first things first. All is fine. In short we picked up a continuity error re Chadwick's lip gloss that needs rectifying. Given it can take an hour per render this is what I've been up to. It wasn't a major thing but once you saw it, you couldn't help but keep trying to spot it....which sorta isn't the point of the chapter. (it also didn't help that my overnight renders had defaulted to a perspective position as opposed to camera...which meant I got eight hours of a corner of a room...)
CAPTCHAsolva pointed out the missed deadline and the hardcore fans rushed in to defend it. Because it's only been about a week and a half, and there have been regular updates on the progress of the release, this is understandable, but for people who are just casual fans, who maybe don't want to follow 100 pages of forum chat per month and just want to pop in once a month to see where the story goes, it's like: you said this would be out by now and broke your promise, can I trust you to really deliver?
The Patreon and thread for this game are supportive and forgiving of this delay (and I'm not saying it shouldn't be), but an echo chamber of doting and coddling fans isn't always productive. Notty is an adult and can stand to hear something other than unbridled praise once in a while.
In what might be a bit of hypocritical humor, this post took me about an hour to write.

In all fairness, this is why I tell devs to never give out dates. Just say it will be ready when it's ready, it's safer all round.

There are no deadlines. Even if Notty calls it the deadliest deadline of all deadlines, it's just an estimate that holds no obligation.
First, You should try to understand how development works and all the challenges and difficulties it entails. If a date is given you should expect it to be an estimate for cases where nothing goes wrong. Complaining about it in case it does is very shallow and narrowminded.
Second, you should also understand how patronage works. We patrons are not signing for a monthly release at a specific date. We sign to help the developer make her project a reality. It's the finished game that is the goal, not a monthly update. The last thing I want is a rushed update release to meet some unreasonable "deadlines".
You know, you have a choice, you can open your eyes and try to be understanding and see the bigger picture or not. But, if you're doing a critique try to be constructive and focus on actual stuff that can be helpful towards the development. What you've said doesn't cut it.
Anyway, I won't argue this further, so you don't have to bother trying to explain your views. Take it or leave it.

It's not just 'hardcore' fans defending Nottravis but anyone with a lick of sense. People who arent even patreon backers are as always the ones that feels like they're most entitled. Shocker.

Since it came to critique I'll speak my mind... I don't like a certain thing that happens in chapter one. But it's the result of my actions and since A,C,I,O I'm the only one to blame. So I can't fault Notty
I'm assuming you're implying that I'm one of these entitled leeches because of your quoting the phrase hardcore fans. I'm not. I am supporting this product, and I'm trying to say I'd rather have the release closer to the original estimated date rather than wait for much the chapter to be re-rendered because one character had the wrong shade of lip gloss.
Would it not have been feasible to release the chapter with the minor continuity error and a note that it will be fixed shortly then release that fix later for the people who care? That's not rhetorical, I have seen other projects have multiple release versions with minor bug fixes, and I'm not familiar with how difficult a project this size would be to release like that.

That's not a minor bug, since the chapter is supposedly starting where the first one ended... with the crew landing on Ophion. If one of the characters had a different lip gloss, it would've implied that she took some time to redo her make up. Sure that doesn't take time as far as I know and could be done while wearing the uniform's jacket , however it would imply that the woman in question is trying to impress someone..and if we're talking about Chris that would imply that she questioned her own ability to charm a girl of her pants
