How short are we talking? Like could I finish it on the toilet short?
What about the actual story? Is it at least engaging?

I suppose you could finish the whole thing in a bit more than 1 hour depending on how fast you read and if you guess the right answers, otherwhise you start the chapter over and over again aka. you want to use the walkthrough if you don't want to waste your time.
The story didn't interest me enough to play all chapters, but thats what everyone has to decide for himself.

Hey there,
I do know you are a man of taste (from other threads you participate in) so storywise I'd advise *against* 'playing' this. The story is weird af, virtually all over the place and inconsistent (way toooooo many to list here!)
TBH most of us that started following this right at the start are only still here as we watch this trainwreck develop further and further.... #morbidfascination
Just to illustrate - writing / uploading the last two episodes' WTs took me way longer (about 10 mins) than actually playing the episode (last one was literally 2 minutes for all 'branches')....
tl;dr: Stay away if you want a good story.
(The renders are somewhat better but also nothing to write home about.)

I can't really criticize small updates. We're notorious for them, but our small updates come like every week to two weeks. I can't imagine how bad we'd get blasted posting off for a month and then releasing a ten minute update.
So I appreciate the honest feedback.

The story is remarkably disengaging. The dev mentioned recently that at least one update was written by a different person, so that might be why.
I'd say that's the most interesting thing about this game - trying to figure out why some people like it and others play it without doing so, as well as water cooler debates on why it be like it is (sadly, those are dying down).
