Hey, so if anyone is actually wondering if its an april fools joke, just check the url of the webpage vs an actual patreon news article. An example is below

You can find real patreon news articles on the bottom of the page. As you can see, between the words news and patreon, there is a dash instead of a dot. This makes the website basically completely different from the real patreon website.

This is a common tactic used in scamming, where the website looks the same but is different, especially links. Scammers usually use this to get your bank and other sensitive information. So I guess this is a good lesson to always check the main page and not just trust links.

Legally wise, im not sure how wise it is to do this, since im sure patreon has copyrighted their own logo and they might have grounds for some kind of defamation thing (since theyre desperately trying to distance themselves from pornographic material, and f95zone is a haven for that shit in the first place).

There are always people who have to ruin a day like this.
It's not about what's allowed and what's not, just have fun.
If Patreon doesn't understand fun, then that's their problem.

I was more or less thinking that with all the strikes against developers that this would be the last thing possible, but then again, wtf can be considered impossible today?

A good demonstration how phishing works and why it's so important to look at the dot and best only enter credentials on sites you opened from your bookmarks instead of an e-mail or a foreign link.
