and so, when will there be a new update? heh? =)
Unless he posted something on patreon recently, we know it's being worked on and he's been busy. Rest is in the air.

9 months already. 5k paid members at an average of 5 per member over 9 months is 225k. How many hours of gameplay will the next update be?
Subtract Patreon cut from it. Subtract taxes from it. Subtract from it 3-4 months of bereavement from it. Not much now, is it?

Also, you should know how many hours of gameplay the next update will be. Over these past few years, Runey's been consistently delivering the same amount (and large quantity) of hours for each update. Pls do your research before talking.

I have no idea how large the development team is for this game, but I'm assuming it's relatively small. The amount of money the game earns isn't directly linked to how much work goes into it. It's more of a reflection of how many fans it has. Sure, the money helps, but they can only work on it so much. From what I understand the updates to this game are fairly substantial.

The more people pester devs about their games, the more the devs feel pressured to grind forward even if they're not feeling it. That sacrifices quality for quantity. The best thing we can do is be patient and supportive.

It's just Runey, he will occasionally outsource something, like when I help him get assets, or the person who is making the 3D printed Lin dolls which are available for ordering on his discord , but the game itself is all him.

If you are going to be nitpicking details, then fine.

I was lowballing his earnings because the most popular membership deal is $10 a month, so the average could well be higher than $5 a month per member

It also had more members the previous year, so 300k+ would have not been that far off the target.

Patreon cut is 8%, taxes depend on the country and other earnings, but nobody counts net earnings when talking about income. But for the sake of the math let's say there's a 30% effective tax after all the tax brackets are applied.

That's net $200k for one person in 9 months (not even a year).

4 months of bevearement? Not only that's ridiculously long, he could've paused the patreon during the time he didn't do anything with the game. But a dev pausing a patreon is like asking a politician to resign, a pipe dream

I get it, you are all battered wives with Stockholm syndrome suffering from sunk cost, so you feel the need to simp for the dev in case he gets angry and decides to delay the update like all the other successful devs have been doing

Dude. Bereavement leave is when a family member died. I'm pretty sure it takes more than 4 months to get over it, and it's just cruel to get deprived of income while they're mourning.

Have some empathy. Have some heart.

And what the fuck do you mean sunken cost? I so broke I can only wait for Runey to post the game for free (sorry...)
