compressed just means someone took the time to make the size of the game smaller, usually by reducing image/sound quality. its for people that dont want to or cant download large files. Besides that just download the latest version of which ever.

Honestly, I let the game that we've been working on distract me from any notion or thoughts about impeding doom... what good would it do me anyhow... it's Life and no one gets out of Life ALIVE, not even Jesus Christ could!

Truly, I was more concerned about the wife, who didn't have an easy time of it and had relatives pass away from Cancer, so she was really more upset than I was... so between our game, my regular jobs, shitloads of doctor's appointments, keeping her sane as best I could and [quietly] making sure my arrangements were taken care of in the event that the news was the opposite that I [thankfully] got on August 13th, I didn't have a whole lot of time to let it spin me too much into a dark place.

Some of my conflict and doubt, however, did make it into the game... like the scene in the MC's kitchen, but for the most part, I tried to remain positive and still do my jobs.

@ASLPro3D Thanks for answering my questions. I have no problems with your decision as my favorite game on this website uses RPGMaker (it is the last sovereign by sierra lee). That being said a lot of people think poorly of rpgmaker so I guess it might be a bit more difficult to market it.

Yes, I know they do and think that is because of the lack of effort that some creators put into it, or the overly annoying task of having to run and do everything, which won't be the case in our game.

As for the trouble of marketing it... heck, we've only been making barely $1,000 a month for the last year on our current game, so don't think we can do much worse than that... and, well, if we do, well... then I suppose we will either need to figure something out or focus on our actual jobs. LOL

Also, let me also clarify one minor thing... I don't have to, need to or should do anything.
The fact that we provide our game for free to everyone is a courtesy not a prerequisite.
We owe NO ONE ANYTHING, except to those who support us on Patreon.
The reason that we do, is because we care about the people and community here... but it isn't our job or responsibility.
We've made the download processes as easy as possible for people, we've provided written and video tutorials on how to install it correctly... if people can't be bothered to take the time to read or watch them, it isn't my problem.

Once you've downloaded the 3gb game, the only additional patch you need is the v0.5.2.1 patch, which is a quick download and easy to install by following the instructions found here: the password is aslpro3d

It's not working on IOS, which is a completely proprietary OS. You need a Android device which is Linux based.

I have a question. I've never played the game at all. I wanted to give it a chance since I've heard good things about it. I've downloaded the mac version of 0.5.1.1 to 0.5.2.0 (MEGA) then I downloaded the Patch v0.5.2.0 to v0.5.2.1, since it said, "Small Update or Full Version v0.5.2.0 needs to be installed before installing this update." Can someone tell me how do I get the patch to work?

I keep getting a 'traceback.txt' message. I can copy and paste what it says if it will help.

You got it right. You need to have the FULL AND COMPLETE version installed first. You can't start from a patch only. You need to download the complete install first (Look at page 1 of this thread).

Done deal, and I even had to add a little bit more to it to emphasize the quality of the story, you have some very skilled and imaginative writers in your team, or A writer if it's just one, not a lot of VNs focus this much on story, most focus on character/relationship development and dynamics, but here the story is clearly in the main role with beautiful art pretty much to just back it up, top work here!

The compressed version uses images and audio compressed in various ways. It's just like having a raw image compressed into JPEG (or in this case for images, webp). You won't notice [Edited] any difference unless you are extremely picky [/Edited]. Also about the sound it's just like having a tune compressed into a MP3 from RAW, just more efficient. (And yes, I love FLAC).

The game experience is the same. But it takes some iron to do the compression and some time. Therefore the compressed version can take up to [days] several hours unless the person doing the compression have access to some big iron hardware.

But it's actually just as you asked X_x One full game download (3.8GB or the small versions 800mb or 290mb) + one single patch which removes critical bugs in the code. I mean even AAA games release a v1.0 and then add patches/updates to it if they make some changes after the games release, which need to be downloaded one after another to get the game up to the latest version X_x

This one is important in MAC cases:

Install Instructions for the Update/Patch files:

Mac users: Right click on the application, and then on show contents. This will reveal a folder in both the original and update files called "Contents". Then, while pressing option (the "alt" key), move the Contents folder from the update/patch to the original application. You should then get a dialog box asking whether you want to stop, replace or merge the folders. Choose merge and you'll be done.

So you extract the big full game file and then the small patch file, then you follow the above instructions which were written by a MAC user in here.

Bossapplesauce...Can you do this for MAC version please? If I understand what you did there...its all versions...newest patches applied etc..so I can just DL the game and play it without saving over files etc?

hehe yeah only a patch this time, as we announced before releasing 0.5.2.0 we couldn't do a release this month since we were lagging behind with 0.5.2.0 itself So the next release with ne content will be v0.6.0.0 (Which will get a new "Full game download" for the big sized and small sized version

Right, but in my case it's about 10 minutes to crunch the big game into the small one FLAC is nice but I'm not sure if all android versions would support it, as far as I know they don't all support it, maybe that was the reason I did it as mp3 or ogg? Can't quite remember
