Did it report any errors? I'd like do debug it somehow.

the patch did not show any error.....but when you play the game from diferent saves(end 21...and end 22)...you get the same new mission....speak with danielle...and there you can do nothing !

I have played this before and not had issues but now the game keeps crashing for me :-( both v0.21 and v0.22

This game use openGL not dirx. It can run on dirx and will auto run it if it's there. But you may play the game even on... potato pc. So I am guessing your download is either corrupted or your drivers are not up to date. try updating GPU drivers and c++ 2012 driver, openGL etc... I can investigate only if you send me either full windows error report or game crash report. Other then that if you have you overcloacked GPU you should check settings as those may mess up original settings for some of features.

stuck at the sewer section.
i followed the walkthrough, but whenever i click on a pipe i get 'pipe with a valve missing, if i had a valve i could operate it' and not the 'hmmm' that it says in the walkthrough.
i enter and exit the sewer, there are only three pipes so i have tried all combinations but no luck.
is there a valve or is it a sequence?

You need a valve for continuation. You can find it in the hotel (standard path) or in the mother's home (incest path).
