It's incredibly popular. Is it "popular" though
The case with futanari is quite the exceptional one, because it's reaaaaally popular. You come here, and find many games not just fully oriented towards futa, but with that content as well. You go to e-hentai, and you find plenty galleries no only futa based, but with pics having 2 versions; futa and non futa. You go to hentaifox, and almost regardless of the tag you look mangas for, will surely show some of that which you were looking for, but with futa.

This is a map that shows the most popular hentai looked up in Europe, and there is another one showing very similar result in the USA, so futa isn't just popular, it's extremely popular.
I had not looked into it myself since it isn't my fetish. But it seems you guys/gals have, and I might have to concede that among people who actively consume adult drawn, animated and 3d media to such a degree that they actively search it out and/or are willing to pay for it Futanari seems to be a popular genre. Maybe it caters to a wider spectrum of people on the Kinsey Scale due to it's dual sexual nature. Maybe it's the decadence of it, having more sexual organs. Maybe there is overlap of both of the above and/or more. It's incredibly popular.
Once again your lack of reference make the reader wonder if you're serious or just throwing your personal thoughts. When there is psycology behind, there is always a reason, most likely a subconcious one. For example, from what I heard regarding furry fetish, apparently it comes from some minor suggestive images that trigger that sort of interest in the sexual awakening of people, like this part of the Lion King, for example.

So the reference you put behind your assertion... say something totally different to your said assertion.[...] I found out a study saying that the focus of men's eyes when watching porn were tits, butts, feet and dicks, [...]
There's many possible explanations. One of them being that it flatter readers' virility, since they are "more male than those fucking sissy traps" ; it's how males with such insecurity issues talk, right ? Another one is just the pleasure of the eyes, and yet another one is that there's absolutely no reason for a male to not be "fabulous".I agree with your definitions of traps, but then we can see so many traps in media that is most likely full of straight oriented fanservice, like the "surprise" with the trap of this anime:You must be registered to see the linksor Astolfo in Fates
Cause we're all degenerates in our own way?
Scat, watersports and hairy armpits make my dick shrivel but there's thousands of doujins dedicated to that shit.
Live and let live my dude.
true humans of culture. There is no explanation.
People have kinks, it has been tht way since the dawn of time. Not all kinks are the same but everyone has a least one.
Some like animals, some like futa, some like redheads, some like blondes, some like scat, some like piss play but none of them have any reasoning behind them except just because.
Although a futa isn't a trap (even though there is a trap, too), it's undeniable that there is some common ground between this two concepts. Regardless of which, the focus of the thread is giving a solid enough answer to the question of why is futanari so incredibly popular.Once again your lack of reference make the reader wonder if you're serious or just throwing your personal thoughts.
There's so many scientific studies around the world related to the furry "fandom", that a wholeYou must be registered to see the links. You can found a quick summary of the psychology behind furry inYou must be registered to see the links, talking about a 10 years long study ; that you have no excuse to not know, since it's the first result returned by Google since a long time now.
To summarize the said summary, it's an embrace of the animal part we all have inside us. Therefore, there's nothing sexual behind the furry "fandom" by itself, it's just that, like part of their life happen in an "anthropomorphic reality" (to summarize), they also like to have their fap material happening in this reality ; so play furry porn games.
Of course, it's not impossible that a small part of the furry "fandom" had an erection, or became wet, while looking Lion King. But being a small part, they can't be used as reason to explain why furry porn exist.
Well, my original question wasn't about furries, but about futa, and that site about furries seems a bit biased, and I did know about that article, albeit I did just skimmed over the thing, since it wasn't of my interest. What I mentioned about the Lion King stuff is something I heard, not to be taken as solid proof of anything, but anyways, I concede.
A paper (and not an effective study) quoting a paper saying that, I quote : "Dr. Ogas [researches] has revealed four key search terms heterosexual men tend to focus on in porn, breasts, butts, feet and penises."
While what you stated yourself is that :
So the reference you put behind your assertion... say something totally different to your said assertion.
Well, it might be because english isn't my first language, but saying that the focus of the eyes of men are this and that, and saying that some search terms show that men focus in this and that, doesn't sound... totally different to me.
Also have to be noted that this part of Dr. Ogas (a well know scientist) paper is based on "the search history of 657,426 individual AOL users". This is a population that can't be seen as representative of the lambda internet user, because filtered at source and so people who already share a common point.
It's like going on a futanari site, then asking to gay people if they prefer their men with or without boobs. The result is biased from the start, and the study/paper would, wrongly, conclude that gay people prefer to have sex with men that have big boobs.
Finally, this paperYou must be registered to see the linksto an paper from Gary Gaddam (also quoted in Emily Perry works that you use as reference). Therefore, while its publication date is 2012, there's no guaranties that those "search history" don't come from the old age of AOL, when it was a framework on top of Internet, and so limited the networks, but also user's liberties, to the basis. This would totally invalidate the result since vanilla access to Internet imply vanilla search.
Alas, unlike Gaddam's paper, Ogas' one isn't anymore available online, so there's no way to be sure.
Alright, this proves that my slight understanding of futa's popularity might be wrong, but all the links in that post are dead, so I've no way of knowing what this researchers found.
There's many possible explanations. I doubt that traps are popular because they flatter men's virility, seeing how popular character like Astolfo (and many others, but this one is so crazy popular that it's the only that comes to my mind), I doubt it's there just so alfa wannabes can say "oh yeah, I'm big macho". I don't know what you mean by the pleasure of the eyes, I don't enjoy seeing a man disguised as a woman, acting as a woman and making me believe he is a woman. I'm not saying that men have to be like this and women have to be like that, but mixing both elements and giving off the idea of them being girls, is something that I find unconfortable, it's a trap, after all.
But this being said, traps have absolutely nothing in common with futa. Whatever if you take the term as its original meaning of hermaphrodite, as (wrong) synonym of MtF transgender, or as dickgirl, unlike a trap, a futa isn't a male and never was a male. Plus, still unlike trap, you also can't assume their sexual preference just because it's a futa.
Not sure about that theory, futas usually annoy the fuck out of me.Futas are the point where all sexual orientations converge. ^^
That's a very sound answer, actually. I knew that there is some degree of sexual atraction towards "elements of the body" rather than the whole package, but I had never thought that to be the reason. So, futa is something like a fetish with penises? It makes sense, really. Thank you. There's a funny way in how the brain produces sexual desire. Sometimes it's not entirely biased towards gender, but toward anatomic parts of the human body.
Being close, or even watching certain body parts will turn you on because that's how hormones work. Your brain gets you ready to mate when you're in a situation envolving breasts, penises, vaginas, butts or even feet. Gender is meaningless here.
For example, heterosexual men get aroused when looking at a penis, and that doesn't change their sexual orientation. That's just how it's meant to be, since a man can feel slightly attracted to his own penis; our brains identifying it as something lascive. When futa is presented, you're watching a woman with a penis, and that doesn't make her a man since she has a very feminine body and even a vagina. The penis is just an extra to boost sexual desire.
You could apply the same logic for heterosexual women as well as the LGBT+ community. Futas are the point where all sexual orientations converge. ^^
Damn, and I thought there is no rational and understanding person here who can answer that in a logical and simple way. You good, man. There's a funny way in how the brain produces sexual desire. Sometimes it's not entirely biased towards gender, but toward anatomic parts of the human body.

Well, the "general population" is something very wide, and people who come to look for porn definitely belong to the general population as well. But when you see the overwhelming amount of futa hentai, you reason that it's popular, at least in the "deviant population" or however you wanna call it.its not popular with the general population. people that like that stuff are more likely to come on the site. people that don't like it but come on the site are more likely to leave because of it.
Yeah that's where your personal likes come to play. I was talking in a general way, about primitive hormonal functions that have been carried for million of years. Not sure about that theory, futas usually annoy the fuck out of me.
This isn't about repressed feelings or how straight and manly I am or any of that shit, but I generally prefer straight or lesbian action over any type of dickgirls. Maybe it's the exaggerated features, maybe I lack real world examples to compare it to. I haven't analyzed it all that deeply but futas do very little for me, no matter how many primary and secondary sex characteristics they combine.
I also dislike futas, but I guess not everyone converge at the same point. The overall reasoning of the comment seems quite solid to me, but it doesn't have to mean that everyone works the same. Just a lot of people. Not sure about that theory, futas usually annoy the fuck out of me.

As I said, I haven't really analyzed it. I'm just going of what I look for in porn and what I avoid. I'm sure my hormones are doing all kinds of weird and wonderful things while I'm busy.Yeah that's where your personal likes come to play. It's the typical "you say no but your penis says yes" you always see in games. If your brain detects something as sexual, it releases hormones that stimulates your sexual desire. That doesn't mean you really like what you're seeing though.
porn games are not mainstream and neither is futa porn. its normal for niche communities to have weird peculiarities. furry porn is overwhelmingly gay. yet gay people make only a small percentage of people.Well, the "general population" is something very wide, and people who come to look for porn definitely belong to the general population as well.
