As I recall, you can avoid all the actual sex scenes with old dudes, I may be wrong. I don't much care for old/young stuff either, but that's really more of a preference than a "bad" game imo.
There is some point in the game where MC goes with some other character on some massage parlour, if I remeber corectly, and than there goes dialogue where she says that she found some grey haired dude "attractive", which is unacceptable for me (it should be nice, for example, to let player to choose if character is attractive or not, since game is advertsed as "player will decide everything in MCs life), and that's where I quited that particular game, so I wouldn't knew about any further content.
As for preference, for me that's the main aspect by which I rate games as good or bad. I can tolerate, for example, not so great art or bad technical aspect of game, if it fits my preferences. But if don't fits preferences, than it is goodbye no matter how good or bad game is in other aspects.

I don't want to name games but essentially some of you will guess it:
It was about MC moving to his relative of sort. Art looked promising and gameplay was sandboxish. It was 1.0.1 something like that so might have been pretty advanced. BUT IT WAS SO BUGGY. You can't click on the most needed feature of a critical bug: the quest log / journal. Ton of uninteresting, time wasting mini-game also a bug where you couldn't shower? Like at all. Art looked promising like I said but after 15 minutes in I was like: time for a delete.

This is a general topic: I usually look for lesbian tags in-game. Any tag game that features this tag do mostly threesomes. Which I'm not looking for.

One of those game had this either. It was an RPGM game but I think lately got converted into Ren'Py (thank good I hate most RPGMs cause they are wasting time [I mean by this not good enough tutorial and/or description how to play]. ) In this game your choices didn't matter cause you get either raped by a male or got by two. It was only RPGM game at the time it wasted me almost an hour to see a kiss scene with a girl (female prot ofc)... That stood for lesbian tag.

Second game was ultimately the same. Your choices also didn't matter here the most time. Also it was really dull, shallow characters and stuff. When MC saw a girl naked she was like 'oh my good I haven't see a girl naked what should I do'. What? Also the fact that you need to fck your way through the story I don't think you can't be even faithful to MC's boyfriend.

I do this game 'anon' because I know my effort on making a game has issues. But sometimes I don't care what games do I play to kill boredom. Even Male Protagonist games which I don't like to play, I do sometimes just to do and there were quite a few good suprises along the way, where at least the girls and art captivated me. But these didn't even hit my lowest expectations.

I think I know what game you mean and that got abandoned pretty quickly.

It's not even close, or any of these examples... although they are quite bad lol

The worst adult game is Leisure Suit Larry - Box Office Bust (PC, PS3, 360). It uses the Unreal engine, celeb voices (Jeffery Tambor, Tom Arnold, Shannon Elizabeth), and was featured on multiple platforms - and every feature is flawed lol. Terrible graphics, high loading times, unresponsive gameplay (jumping, driving, moving), "invisible" jumps because of graphics errors/camera angles, etc. Some places wanted to give it a 0 instead of a 1 out of 10 lol.

The Pornholio games. It's probably not fair, given that they use flash animation, but they are look bad, play terrible and, even though they supposed to be comical, they are just not funny, at all.

That's a tough one. It's hard to remember the really bad ones, because they end up the recycling bin pretty fast. Of what I can remember:

- School of lust fucking sucks. I really liked some of the art, but the gameplay is meh, the dialogue is awful, and the pacing... is... slower... than... a... snail... in... three... feet... of... snow... If it had the VN feature where you could hold Ctrl and skip text... well it wouldn't be a great, or even a good game, but it'd be leaps and bounds better.

- I also think this one is trash. To be fair I might be biased. This is like one of two I've played that use those creepy, off-putting 3D models. Been thinking about starting a thread describing just how much I hate those, I don't get how you guys put up with them. I'd rather it be totally text-based. I thought the premise could be interesting anyway, so I tried to suffer through, but the story is meh, and the english is bleh.

I'm kinda sad to see so many people hating on RPG maker games and VNs though. There's probably way more bad than good of both, but there are some hidden gems for both too. But to each their own, right?

I found the Legend of Queen Opala (The first one, I never even bothered with Number 2 or Origins) to be an absolute fucking borefest. A small number of scenes and several pieces of art (Which varied from piss poor to alright) hidden behind a grinding bore of a game. Also I found the VA to be insipid and just generally poor. Which could be forgiven if it didn't occur during those hentai scenes.

Honestly most RPG Maker games I tend to avoid nowadays because most of them are just shit grindfests for little payoff, but Legend of Queen Opala just stands out because of how much people seem to love it. Like yeah I love the design of the main characters but fuck me rigid at least give them an entertaining game and not a cookie cutter RPG Maker borefest.
The series isn't made any better (I have only played 1 and 2) in that a majority of the sex scenes are "collectables" depicting the women with other dudes than the MC. Working/grinding half an hour to be cucked by a BBC or a horse isn't exactly rewarding for most people... I think. Then there's those "other guys", that likes this stuff.

I do not recall which one was the worst, but there are various things that make me stop playing a game mid playthrough.
Firstly the visual quality of the content in the game matter a lot. Poorly translated english that simply does not make sense at all will also make me stop playing. A third reason is if the game is too grind heavy. A fourth is if the game is loaded with bugs. A fifth is if a game simply does not deliver on what I expected from it. If the storyline is not interresting I will stop as well.
So I guess the worst game I have played is the one that qualifies for the most of the above reasons. Luckily I can not recall which game that is!

The game over rape mechanic is wholly retarded, as has been previously stated. Being "rewarded" for doing poorly is not incentivising at all. I'm split about the RPG maker games. There are some brilliant ones out there. The problem is the dime a dozen boring and grindy games with females protags. Offering little in the way of an inspiring (/fun and sensual) experience.

By large I agree with the critique of (most) VN's, mostly the serve as a platform for the cg and voice acting. Much of the text in these games are merely needless and empty thoughts and gossip to make them feel like they have substance but they are a waste of time. There are exceptions.

The whole porn game genre has by large rested on it's laurels of it's sensual nature for it's sales.

I've found myself to be quite lenient on games that requires grinding... it really depends on whether the game is fun and or rewarding. Not just the art assets, but the gameplay mechanics and the writting.

The funny thing for me about Japanese language games is that I almost prefer to play them untranslated--as long as I can understand what I need to be doing next. The dialog for 80% of games--Japanese or otherwise--is going to be wooden, with shallow characters and all, just because most people can't write (myself included). I'm not here for depth; I'm here for porn. It's almost easier to just make up in my head the details of what's going on, as long as the characters are showing some kind of emotion to provide a framework for it.

A thread like this one really illustrates the challenges faced by porn games. It's obvious that every game needs a "draw" to set it apart from the sea of other vidya we're starting to find ourselves drowning in these days. Porn games end up kinda hamstrung by needing to draw players in, but also to cater to fetishes (or at least not cross them) and also to have an appealing visual or prose style. Nobody's going to play a porn game that's about stuff they find sick or objectionable. I don't think most people would play a widely-lauded porn game that has an art style they don't like, or uses 3D models they find creepy, or whose writing they just can't get into. This is all on top of the challenge of getting folks to play a porn game to start with (or getting them to own up to it so you can get reasonable metrics).

I was going to say that a thread like this should stick to specific examples of games that person didn't like, but then I realized that I'd have to go on to ignore my own suggestion. I just don't enjoy most games with 3D models. Writing and production quality are more or less irrelevant. Then again, I'm not big on VNs to begin with, but even games with gameplay just don't interest me. How do porn game devs engage a porn gamer like me with my unreasonable prejudice against a specific art style?

EDIT: See, take this thread. The posts are split between people who hate a particular engine, people who hate a particular type of character or situation, and people who talk about a particular game they hated.

Unique to our particular game-release milieu is the person who hates a pre-alpha. Basically, a person who hates a particular promotional style or development style. It's an interesting and complicated time to be alive.

Actually, I played Euphoria at a friend's recommendation. I'm not into scat, and I wasn't super-happy for a couple of short scenes. I'm not that into sadism either, but it gave me a new appreciation for that kink. To be fair, I'm the type of person who like to expand my horizons, I write a lot of erotica, so if I find a way to explore a fetish like that I'm all over it; but I've seen a lot of people give Euphoria glowing reviews.

The plot isn't great, it's basically the move The Cube, but with rape instead of traps. The characters and the way it's written are fairly compelling though, and all in all, I'm glad I played it. I know that's anecdotal, but I think you'd be surprised by the amount of people who will play something with fetishes they're not into. There are a few others that I'm surprised JAST localized because of the content, like Starless.

I think part of that might be because western audiences are frothing at the fucking mouths for porn games, but for some reason (more than likely they think it would make jesus cry, in America at least) the censors refuse to make the easily available to consenting adults. Like, before I came here to the wonderful land of pirate-paradise, I had a really hard time not only finding where to download games, but knowing what to look for. Now I type in a few fetishes, click on a mega link, and I'm set, more often than not.

I totally get you on the 3D models though. I've tried. I've found the ones that are super-popular, that everyone seems to really praise and love, and I read through the 'steamy' scenes totally flaccid, because whatever interest the text is garnering is totally off-set by these emotionless, mongoloid fucking doll-people that look like something out of a distant Child's Play movie.

That's not true, actually I remember a project a while back, monster girl island, with 3D models, that looked pretty good... but I'm pretty I'm just being a contrarian there, and I know exactly what kind of model you're talking about.

Well, I guess I shouldn't say "people won't play a game with fetishes they don't like." I guess there's lots of degrees of "ick," but it's probably true to say "people won't play a game where they can't ignore the stuff they don't like." If you can just turn off furry or scat or whatever sinks your boat, I imagine that changes things for most folks. But there are plenty of games with some underlying fetish content (think of a furry adventure game, an incest-themed VN or high-school simulator) that a sizable chunk of interested players simply aren't going to play because they're too turned off. I guess that's true for most game genres. Very few sports games are going to be good enough to draw in people who don't play sports games, for instance. The problem is just exacerbated when you start layering genres of porn on top of it.

Now, what do porn game developers do? I presume they have the same motivations as most game devs: they want to make money, and they want to make games people enjoy. But "enjoy" in this case can (and probably does) also mean "appeals to some fetish," whether that's a not-fetish like gender preference or something specific, like porn of people drowning. People who don't like RPGs are probably not going to make quality RPGs, right? I don't think it's a stretch to say that people who don't like talking animal people with weird dicks are probably not going to make quality furry games. Cash-ins aside, I imagine most porn game devs are making games that they would like to play, but also that they at least kinda would like to get off to.

Anyhow, like most of my posts I've forgotten where I was going with that. I think what I was getting at is that porn game devs either need to stick with very vanilla sex or resign themselves to catering to a small pool of fetishists, depending on how important the fetish is to them versus how important money is to them. But a person could figure that out from spending ten minutes looking on DLSite at which games sell the most, so I guess I'm just navel-gazing.

I'm kinda surprised that Steam is starting to sell games with legal-grey-area content. I don't just mean porn games in general but, like, "protagonist visits a playground for gangbangs" content... even if it's just drawings. My guess is that they either don't realize they're selling it, they're banking on the just-drawings thing, or they're taking the "but the developer swore they were just hobbits look at their pointy ears" approach. Greed is a powerful motivator, but I'm surprised Valve's legal department would want to allow the company to get anywhere near that mess since it's so legally unclear in the USA. I don't see it ending well, but I could just be naive about how much homework Valve has been doing. I keep going back to Valve because, well, Steam is a giant in the games industry right now and is the only serious (if still emerging) porn game marketplace that I know of.

(Honestly, the 3D model thing is probably just a matter of taste on my part, like other turn-offs are for other folks in the thread. I think I just like less realistic games. It's kinda one of the perils of trying to have a thread like this one on a site for all kinds of adult gaming. The porn aspect of it kinda amplifies everyone's reactions to everyone else's preferences. Instead of the "how can you watch those cartoons you dork" reaction you can have the "how can you beat off to those cartoons that's gross" reaction. Not that people are behaving that way in this thread, but it does make it harder to talk about it neutrally and non-provocatively.)

I have to update mine to Wild Sex Airlines as #1, it's uh... Ok, I'm not really sure how to put it other then what the actual fuck...
