I'd suggest people to actually take a look at their Kickstarter page before commenting. They have several funding goals, the 500€ mark was just the lowest one to test the waters and maybe recover their initial investment. OST, voice acting and other costly things are planned for way bigger sums.

I'll never support a Kickstarter project that is also planning to get Patreon funding, but that's a different topic.
Thanks for your comments! Really looks like you took some time to read all the Kickstarter website! Anyway, would you like to share your opinion about not supporting Kickstarter with Patreon funding? Will you support Patreon if there isn't any Kickstarter or vice-versa?

One more time thanks for supporting us! Every comment is getting considered! :)

What it means is:
1. The team has invested what cash they have into the game
2. They'll see if they can raise some more with Kickstarter, but at $500 it's pretty clear they're not relying on it
3. Once they're moving they'll use Patreon as usual to keep things running.

A few quick feedbacks;
- Unless you're doing stuff that Renpy can't do, use Renpy. This seems a straight VN, and (trust me), Renpy will do that better than Unity. I'm speaking as someone that uses Unity both for his normie gamedev job, and for porn.
- Don't give the final game away for free, sell it on steam/itch.io. This is both a commercial decision (Steam is a very significant payout for these games) and a supporter decision (it lets you give Patreons and Kickstarters steam keys as thanks for believing in you).
- The rules of the game is to under-promise, and over-deliver. You're over-promising and will likely under-deliver (unless you really think $504 will let you set up an original sound-track and localization). Players *do* notice this, and especially the prosumers will tend to call you out on it.

It *is* possible to triple-dip (KS-Patreon-Steam), but you have to understand what each of the different audiences want out of the experience before you do.
Thanks for getting clear things, that's exactly what it means!

-Related to your feedback, I can't really tell you much about our planning there, but we have only one option that is not possible with Ren'Py and that's what is keeping us on Unity.

-We did not consider steam/itch.io but looks like you know what are you doing so I will show it to the team and make a decision on it!

-We don't expect to get all the stuff paid with 504$, we have investors, and the studio itself has some money to keep the project alive. The under-promise/over-deliver is something that we took into consideration but, we thought it was better to tell almost everything we are planning to get in our game.

-We will talk about the triple-dip, which seems a good option but with a lot of work about audiences and experience.

Thanks for your feedback and support, we threw this post to get all the comments we are getting, learn and discuss is a must and we are here for that. Thanks once again and hope you keep an eye on us! ;)

Steam's huge. For Love of Magic it's about the same as Patreon (lifetime wise). For Paradise Lust it's closer to 4x Patreon (PL is Early Access, and cartoony, which does affect it). Definitely don't walk away from that, especially as a hand-painted game.

As a coder I know that the obvious thing here is to fight a change in engines (it's not one we're familiar with/we'd need to drop a lot of code we've already done/etc) but.... if you're doing a straight VN, it's better. I spent a weekend putting together a Renpy prototype, and it had had some pretty good functionality. The BIG thing Unity gets you is (some) code opacity, so you could insert patreon check, etc.

If you don't intend that, or complex minigames, you'll save yourself a lot of pain going with Renpy.

It's just a personal view, I consider them mutually exclusive. I get that, from your business perspective, you are just getting funds from every possible source. To me, a Kickstarter project looks like a more professional thing, in order to get enough funding to create the whole game (as your different goals suggest). So I don't really get the need of a Patreon page too -from my customer perspective, once you create a Kickstarter campaign, I'd just wait till the game is released as complete to see if the final product really deserves my money. Using also a subscription thing like Patreon while you develop the game sounds just greedy to me (again, I still get why you'd do that).

But don't sweat it! I'm a very special guy who also feels pushed away every time I find a CM replying me with exclamation marks at the end of every sentence! So good luck!

Project looks good, might suport it on patreon once you'll have release some content (like v2,v3 or more depending on how i like and trust the game). But you can understand i wont support a game before anything is released from unknown people who didn't achieve anything for now and even more here where looot of games are abandonned (or you know "not abandonned" but 1 small release per year). So I'll wait to be sure the game please me and to be "sure" you're some serious/honest devs.

I like the art and your promises but before thinking about skins and dlc or whatever be sure your game is well written, drawn and better get consistent and regular updates than 1 update every once in a while BUT some super nice skins (for $).

Waiting for the demo with good hope !

I'll never support a game that doesn't have 0.1 out unless the Dev has made some good stuff in the past.
Nothing is exclusive(when talking about game versions) , you should know that when you're posting here...
Kickstarter supporters usually get the full game when it's out. separating patreon content from Kickstarter is kinda weird in my opinion.
Good luck with your game though!
(does the demo have a release date?)
