Post your (at least half related) opinions that you might think are more or less unpopular around these parts.
It could be about anything you'd like from Game Development, Development Practices, Content, Availability, What The Fuck Ever! I'm not watching this thread so it's more like a black hole to dump thoughts into.

I'll start. I really don't think developers (of H-games and otherwise) should be super concerned with people pirating their games. It sounds super dumb but I honestly think that if they focus on making the game good instead of spending every "monthly update" doing something like improving anti-piracy measures that are just gonna be worked around anyway thats probably even worse than if they had done nothing at all because they just ran themselves in circles trying and failing to do anything other than making sure their game is good for whatever that would have meant. If people like your game and they pirated it or whatever then they'll go back and actually pay for a real copy.

Also, and this one is much more nitpicky, I don't particularly like Renpy games and am a little (only a little) annoyed by the frequency of which they are made. I guess it an easy to use engine for people who want to tell a story but I dunno /shrug. Not that big a deal I guess.

What are some of your guys' Hot Takes?

I can't really enjoy straight up visual novels. No matter how good or interesting they might look. I just can't get into them unless they have some form of "open world" elements or genuine gameplay. Even if they are grindy or super linear. Not sure if it's controversial, but considering A LOT of games are linear VN's I might be in the minority.

Games made with DAZ look like ass. Also, I prefer medium tits over huge.
I used to detest them as well, but then seemingly at random they just started to grow on me. Not sure why. Glad it did because I wouldn't have played some amazing games otherwise. If only the same could happen with my interest in VN's as well.

My unpopular opinion is that men should be banned from playing women's games. I'm sick of their whining. They whine that they don't like dicks, they whine that they want lesbianism, but at the same time they play the role of a girl! This is the most ridiculous thing in the world.

Piracy is inevitable and I agree: it's okay. You can take measures to ensure your paying subscribers receive benefits for subscribing while still acknowledging that the games will be pirated & piracy exists. Anything more than that (i.e., going out of your way to "foil" pirates plans or ruin the game for anyone who pirated) is an overreaction.

For me personally: I want as many people to play (and hopefully enjoy) my games as possible, and I don't blame nor harbor any resentment for anyone who pirates/gets the game for free so long as they consider kicking a few dollars my way if they really liked it and got something out of it... and more importantly so long as they can.

On that, I want to make something very clear: if you cannot afford to support me or my games, please don't. I've been there, and I know what it's like to be broke. In fact, when I first discovered these games, I was going through a really difficult period in my life (financially and otherwise) and knowing I had games to play/get lost in for a few hours every night was a huge comfort and helped me get through it. I couldn't afford to support them at the time, but the moment I was able to afford it I went and supported all of my favorite developers (even a couple years down the road, long after I played their games).

I hope everyone has fun and feels at ease when they play my games regardless of how they got them, and this was my stance even long before I started making a decent income.

If you think that having less explicit scenes makes a game more highbrow, then you should read more books.
"It's not a porn game, it's an adult game. This isn't just a mindless fapfest." That's nice, I guess. My elderly aunt loves these kind of stories.
In my eyes vampire nerds are not allowed to make fun of the Twilight series and at the same time praise a game like Rebirth. A harem game without any payoff, with a story chock-full of porn tropes and a plot driven by kinks, but with only three sex scenes across three "episodes".
If you're suddenly into romance novels for housewives, just because you found them on a porn forum, then you might suffer from coom brain. Outside of porn there's a whole world of actually good stories.
