And then they use a free translator without checking the script again to translate to English. In some cases they don't even speak English to begin with, so they aren't even able to check the script after translating. Also saw some cases where the renpy engine was used to translate, which is worse than some free translators.

The grammar was so bad that I got tired of the game fast. I couldn't tell if they were talking about a male or female character most of the time. I just decided to skip everything and just play the sex scenes.

I am even starting to see this in movie subtitles. Even the major studios are using AI translators. Languages with Masculine and Feminine nouns also use El, La,L' instead of Pronouns; most translators do not always pick these up. Even human translators have problems with literal wording since all languages have words that have different meanings depending on how and where they are used. When you add local and regional vernaculars, which many developers are using, you get a Cluster Fuck of a translation.
