Everything about this VN's story has been "dark". To classify "Summer Scent" in any way wholesome is delusional.... hell, he created all these "dark" scenarios in the VN's debut. So, I'm guessing your post is entirely sarcasm, ain't it? I'm on my first cup of coffee (~0540hrs here) so I likely missed the joke to be fair.

I'm replaying from the beginning to at least see the new scenes if there is no new content on the vanilla paths.... and there's still plenty of content for him to rework if he wants toNow he only has to stop retouching scenes from 5 years ago and move forward with the rest of the story

But everyone should be clear about the level of legitimacy from which they're doing it. You wrote that it was a waste. So please clarify: what did you waste on the dev? Don't say "time". The dev didn't tell you to steal from him to waste your time. It's not the dev who wasted your time.

Yeah, it's a drama no doubt but I was talking dark in the porn sense of the word. Porn vn players would expect slave collars and buttplugs at the end of a Dark route, not to end in jail getting buttfucked by other inmates.

If he indeed placed a "taboo" button in the game (something SanchoMod had in place already), then they would have kicked his ass off the site... no way they would approve a project with an auto-switching i-patch. i-patch files that are uploaded for service on alternate sites are the way around this policy... and that's now a mute point.

I have still seen games get the boot from patreon even if they have a patch on another site.

they kicked him off from patreon and in response he added the official incest option, because why not?

But was it really worth putting that switch button over losing his pateron? I mean we got MODs for that. It wasn't a must, but merely a convenience. I find it really strange and kinda unbelievable.

I'll be very honest here, I'm not looking forward to recreating the damn mod's walkthrough from scratch again (I've already done it twice before due to "scene reworks". I pray the changes are only superficial... I'll know in a bit (my DL is getting close to done).

Now that makes sense, but why was he kicked in the first place? He had MODs that added in incest. There was no direct incest content. There's so many VN out there with similar story but thriving on pateron. What did TNC do different?

Yeah yeah I actually "stole" his game and I did it by personally breaking into his apartment/house and downloading a copy of his game from his computer, but as it turns out I only wasted my precious time on his game.

Steam did a smart thing allowing adult games on their platform. If they didn't, all that would have achieved was losing their potential customers.
